Except we're not nazis. The BA requirement isn't really about quality, it's about the collab starter having enough experience to know how to copy paste parts together. 4.00 might yield better collabs, but that would be a pretty harsh standard.

Actually, it probably would just mean that anyone lower than the standard (i.e. most collab starters) would need to be approved by mods on an individual basis. Still, most flash mods are too nice to refuse approval unless something's definately definately going to fail :p

I'm a bureaucratic nightmare when it comes to collab thread requests. Last few collabs I refused I asked the topic starters to come up with two people who would keep the collab afloat (that I could vouch for) and an example of the artwork.

They never got back to me about it...

As someone who attained thier 4.17 purely through collabs, let it be known I don't recommend using this forum for collaberations anyway. The best collabs in my opinion are the invitation only ones - working with people you know nothing about just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Yeah i admit i contribute to the collab spammage. I think i hit my breaking point tho, cause people been assuming ill say yes and they wont even ask me anymore. they will just make their collab and say i approved it. Which is a blatant lie of course.

Anyway, i agree with the comment whoever made earlier that any collab initiatives regarding the reg-heads here should probably devote its own thread. Wouldnt want it to be overshadowed by glaiels hot dog conversations.

hey be glad it's not a chinese wedding. i went to one a few months ago and all of the food there was so wierd. all traditional chinese food that you never see in the chinese restaurants.

Well, I've been busy with college a lot. Studying for something called interaction designer. I'm basically undecided between either interface design/application programming or web design/web programming. This means I haven't been doing a whole lot of Flash or AS, so I've probably been surpassed in AS skills by most of this forum's population by now. :P

Yes. It is the nectar of the Actionscript gods and a will drink from that well... although these days I'm coding in both languages. But yes, most of the coders here are AS3 primed.

Hey, I've been using AS3 since day one :P It fits right in with my borderline OCD.

The more I use it the more I love it. Been going through a couple books and I've learned quite a bit. Just started Game University's AS3 book and it's really good. Tried to learn AS3 from a general book and failed. It's a lot better when you learn the language in context.

I don't know if it's my relative obscurity that has prevented me from witnessing this before but, has anyone ever received a PM praising your posting? I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but it was very odd. The user actually said, I like your posts, keep it up. Something to that effect. Anyway, has this ever happened to anyone? Seems like something odd to praise. Given the nature of this site I'd've expected that kind of attention was only garnered by established flash authors.
