Marijuana causes 0 deaths EVERY year! Lol. Well so does tabacco then. I'm not really an expert, but don't you usually smoke marijuana with tabacco? Unless you're rich or you have your own plant... I might be an Ignorant though..
Anyway, if it was good for you your mom would make you smoke it, like she makes you drink your milk and eat your greens.

I don't think it's really "good" for you, like eating vegetables is, it's not essential to your health, but I don't think it's as bad for you as the man wants you to think (kind of joking about the man). It's a recreational activity... Also being illegal I'd doubt your mom would tell you to smoke, so that's kind of a moot point, and just because something is illegal, doesn't make it inherently bad.
Happy new year all, albeit abit late ;).

Yeah, i'll generally do the same, unless it is genuinely offensive or abusive, then i'll just post a review saying why i voted lowly. But most of the people i know are good coders/animators/3d modelers, so i've only had to do that once :P.
Impending Awesomeness
Great animation, very fluid and likable characters as well. The voice acting was top notch and the story, although short, was also very good :D. Nice work alround, definitley a 5 and a 10 from me.
You deserved the FP, hopefully a weekly is coming your way :).

Hey, I don't want to side myself too much with CD's idea of weed as a panacea for all of society's problems, but that's a bit like saying that alcohol's main side effect is liver failure, and food's main side effect is obesity and heart implosion. You can't categorise how bad something is by what happens when you do way, way too much of it.
Making weed legal would make it way, way easier to regulate it and discourage excessive or irresponsible use (Duder :P), not to mention taking a big chunk of income away from big bad criminals.
Blah.

Haha, I love how so many people think I'm like MTC and smoke insane amounts of marijuana while in the last 4 days I think I've smoked maybe a few bowls of hash from my bong and scrapped some resin from a pipe to smoke.
I do try to get stoned at least once everyday which some could see as a horrible plan, but after meeting a dude who's gotten baked everyday for over 10 years my inspiration for it hasn't died. I remember telling him "I am you in ten years!" after he explanned it all to me. :P
Anyway I ain't that big of a pot head, yes I like pot, pot should be legal, and blah blah blah marijuana, marijuana. To paint the best picture is I'm one of the stoners you see high fiving the other dude after a massive toke and talking about how everything is awesome or I'm telling some crazy story from my life.
Now then... let's all try to forget loveable Duders is insane and pothead and remember what we love about him?
The Duders. :3
Im in Bradley airport right now, anyone else traveling today?
At 1/3/09 12:50 PM, Glaiel-Gamer wrote: Im in Bradley airport right now, anyone else traveling today?
I had to stay 8 hours at Zurich airport today, 4 hours waiting was part of my connecting flight, then 4 more hours cause they had technical problems. :/ i got home 2 hours ago and i didnt sleep in over 30 hours, unless you call "sleeping" for 15mins and then being woken up by a fat monkey sleep.
I was reading a book called "The end of time", basically the guy is talking about the point that there is no evidence for the existence of a Newtonian model of time, only the way we "feel" that there is time; just like we "felt" that the sun turns around the earth, or that the earth is flat, and obviously we discovered the opposite. He has a theory about a static universe as opposed to a dynamic universe which also allows a lot more flexibility for finding the "theory of everything", because all attempts to quantify gravity have failed, and he reckons part of the problem is our conception of time.

Since I'm so close to the lucky couple they're sayin' I'm gonna be an uncle - "Uncle Derek". :3
Happy, happy, life is amazing.
This is my last weekend before Uni starts up again so this was real cool news to start a new year off.
But ya... "Uncle Duder". ^^
Also I'm a psychonaut.

That game is really really really really hard, I'm using a trackpad but still =)
I never knew condoms were so bad ass.
I seem to have this amazing ability to become distracted the minute I have more than one project going, I'm quite the scientific miracle the more I have to do the more disengaged I get.

False. Funny is subjective.
He's very formula, but his delivery is what's funny, in my opinion. If I stop and look back at one of his jokes, I realize I was really laughing at the noises or gestures he made to go along with it. Which is why if I watch him for too long I get bored. The childishness of it makes me wish I didn't find it funny, but I guess it gets me. Its the same thing for me with Lewis Black, the fact that he says fuck every three words makes me laugh...
So I'm going to be reserved and just say sometimes Dane Cook is funny, sometimes he's not, but overall I like his act.
Podcasts
You people must listen to podcasts, when I program/animate/game I usually listen to podcasts.
What are your favourite podcasts?

Yuuguu
I didn't know until just a couple weeks ago that
you can actually help people by giving them
a live stream of you working on your computer.
But Yuuguu is a chat/desktop sharing program where
you can add buddies and chat, and show them
you working on. I thought it was the coolest shit ever.
Go check it out. :3
Oh, and you guys remember CastleCops, that site jmtb mentioned a couple weeks ago?
It looks as if they're shutting down;
It was such a good cause, too. :[

Oh my god, you broke your text style.
Ya know, how you always write paragraphs

K-Guare talking when he writes his posts
in poem form. Oh well. But you broke your
poem form you were asking if we remembered
CastleCops.

Oh dear.
I kinda wonder what it'd look like if I spoke in paragraphs... Some people really hate me for talking in poem-format, but it's just something I've always done for some reason. I only write like this if I'm trying to sound professional.
Wait...talking in paragraphs?
That's just MADNESS.

Happy late birthday!
I'm not exactly sure where you live in Israel and I'm not really an expert on the situation over there, but are you noticing anything about the war/invasion going on at the moment? Do you live close by? I always find it interesting to hear that kind of stuff from people who actually live in those areas rather than from the news. Anyways, good luck with that situation.
Help me find bugs
I've found a couple but just want to check there aren't any more before I proceed on to the next part of the engine. The idea behind it is that its like those games where you control 2 characters (Found this one after a bit of lurking around, which its actually very similar too), but rather than controlling both characters - one of them is controlled by the computer, just for lulz.
Controls
Left/Right arrows to move
Up to jump
Down - if facing off a ledge will make you bend down to help your partner up
otherwise will go into 'boost' position
Here is the file. Try boosting him up first and try letting him boost you up.

Oh shit. I can't believe I did that again. Twice in one day.
Link.
Fail D:
No bugs found so far, I take it is intentional that the computer controlled character is stuck halfway in the background when he is helping you up? And that he won't try to get on that last elevated platform? I'll keep on messing around with it for a couple of minutes, in case something will still shows up, looking really fun so far though. You could do a lot of great stuff with this engine :)
At 1/4/09 04:58 PM, UnknownFury wrote: Link.
Looks good so far :) I don't think I've seen any other games quite like it except the one that you linked to.
Couldn't find any bugs btw.. You had even made it so that if the player starts helping the AI player up but quits too early it won't get up ;)
I'm thinking a more co-op working version of Contra where you have to help eachother and whatnot. That would be awesome =D
