An extremely low-level programming language, architecture-specific (you had to program differently for different CPU architectures). It was widely used until higher-level, architecture-inspecific languages like C became widespread.

Pretty much, although it's more of a hardcore computer science course than a games course even though we do a game project every year.

They put all the computer science, math, and physics you need to program stuff from scratch for simulations (games and physics stuff) in one place. Also they don't teach us how to use stuff like the unreal engine or anything, cause they say it's more important to know what goes on underneath then how to use premade shit, so like next year we have to make a 3D renderer from scratch by blitting pixels to the screen.

Sounds awesome :P I'm doing computer games programming, only just started so we haven't had any proper lectures yet.. I know we need to create a 2D game by the end of this gear (using openGL, but no SDL or anything >.> Idk why we need to make it harder for ourselves, SDL is cross platform) and a 3D game of some sort by the end of the 2nd year, then we need to create a full project in our final year in a team, with people from the computer games art course. We're doing modules in graphical math and "technical asset creation" (where we need to create a 3D model for some reason). as well as c++ and stuff. I don't think theres anything as hardcore as making a 3D renderer from scratch, but I know some guys in the 2nd year who are doing Computer Science and apparantly they need to make their own interpreter for this years project O_o

Lol, I learnt a bit of assembly at school the other day. Painful stuff.

K well i know timeline control with AS2, like using actual AS, but for buttons its behaviors. and for preloaders i do that myself following tutorials and then i forget how instantly after.

Basically, i use the behaviors because of the following:
WHY would i send a 500 meg file to someone so that they can code all of the buttons? Thats the one option, or else just get ppl to send me code to put in, but then i would think i'm doing it wrong... WHATEVER, it works fine for basic timeline and button controls, leave me alone >__< im not one who's good at programming, aahh!
