I absolutely despise those movie. I HATE them. In about 300% of the movies, the animation itself sucks, the 3d characters aren't well rendered, and the storyline is uber-meh.

I definitely hear you on that one, I love how movies like The Triplets of Belleville are so different from all this kiddie 3D crap out there today, it's like they're pumping these things out of 20 different studios at a time. 3D animated movies used to be a gem everytime they came out - mostly from pixar - but this is just getting ridiculous.

Have a feeling the wii is gonna bomb like that stupid robot thing thing that came with gyromite back in the nes days.. and that stupid duck hunt gun that never responded.

Im a very old fashioned gamer, i hate guitar hero, i hate ddr, i hate gimmicky things in consoles that are very niche driven. I think the wii would be awesome as a part of an arcade game, like those boxing things at dave and busters where you put on those oversize gloves.

I think the super nintendo controller was the best designed controller ever so its not even that i hate nintendo. I just think the concept isnt revolutionary at all, and it has very limited scope.

Somehow we always come back to video game discussions... those overhyped consoles need to hurry up and come out so people can move on with their lives

Mmm, the police one is so much better though. That was the first time I ever experienced something semi close to Virtual Reality. Of course, you're in a little box with sensors, but my god, you can crouch and tilt and move all around and it picks it up on screen! And you have a gun, how cool.

The boxing one tires the CRAP out of your arms, so bad.

I agree completely about new 3D movies being shit. I loved Toy Story and watched it loads, years ago. I got a chance to see it recently on a big screen and it still kicks ass. I also really loved Toy story 2 but ever since they have gone down hill. All the way down to Cars. Man that sucked. The only exception is The Incredibles because I really love that one and can watch it over and over. Im not really at all interested in all the new ones coming out, it's getting annoying.

Just watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Brilliant.

Definatly agree. Movies like Ice age, Toy Story, A bugs life, etc are pretty good. But most of the recent stuff is so stupid it's crap. Cars is total suckage, i could mention many more at the moment but i'm not really in the mood for thinking.

3D movies have gone downhill in the past few years, period.

In my opinion the quality and novelty of 3D animated features has delined due to total saturation, every other week there is a new one playing. Personally I haven't seen any since the Incredibles, until a couple of weeks ago, so I can't really say that any of the newer ones like Cars or Over the Hedge actually do suck, but I have the perception that they do, and I think a lot of people percieve them that way without actually seeing them. It's just that we've been exposed to so many that we rate them without seeing them at all. I will say that Flushed Away, which I saw with my younger sister was pretty funny and very cute.

This is compltely unrelated, but I just made this wierd-ass engine... you can move up and left and right and junk at the beginning until you fall and hit the ground, then you can force yourself to bounce upwards... it's really wierd...

The next console I'm trying to get is the NES, it's going on my list and I'm gonna get The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda II, Secrets of Mana and a few others that might interest me.
I'm also on the mission to find my old SNES and get Star Fox for it too and some other classics.

I do agree with what a lot of people say about the 3D movies, but I have been meaning to see all of the incredibles because I watched part of it at school but the teacher had to skip through half the movie.
I want to see more 2D movies out in the cinemas because the last 2D movie I saw was Brother Bear.

On another note, what would be your dream setup for Flash?
Mine would be to have may good old trusty Graphire 3, one of those monitor tablets and my normal monitor.
I would have my Graphire 3 set asside due to the fact that I would draw differently with it then the monitor tablet, the monitor tablet will be set up at a low angle so I would have to bend forward like I do when I draw in my book. My keyboard would be placed under the monitor tablet with easy access and alongside with a DX1 Input System Keyboard which will have a custom configuration for graphics programs and gaming. My other monitor will be placed to the left or the right of the monitor tablet so I can have easy access to it and my keyboard and the DX1 would be easy to slide over there too.

Silly humans eat off of tables! Why are they in the forest cutting down trees to make tables to eat off of when they have perfectly good tummies to eat off of?

Heh, south park.

No, that was not the point, my point was was that he wanted our opinion on something.
By the sounds of what he said was that he had put it in the portal. I dunno if that is not what he said but I know he asked if he should make a 3rd of something that was part of a series of his. My point was that we could not view it, so he is either using an alternate account or the flash got blammed or deleted.
I'm not one to pull that Flash by user -none- card.

What's up your vag today?

Hey PaperBagMask, that's an awesome link... the Cintiq thing, but it looks like it takes a really long time, and there are some parts where he's like disconnecting cables and he's not very clear on how to do it... I'd be very careful if I were you. I personally wouldn't do it because I'd be afraid I'd cut a wire or something and fuck the whole thing up, but again it's all up to you.

Plus, getting yourself a good screen and tablet is going to cost way more than it cost him (most likely), so you might be better off saving up for a smaller cintiq instead... and you know it will probably be at least slightly better anyways.

Best 3d movie ever. Shrek is a close second

The only exception is The Incredibles because I really love that one and can watch it over and over.

Er, I thought while the Incredibles was pretty good, the character models were way over-caricaturized (however you spell that... you know way too over exaggerated).

What about Shrek, and Shrek 2? Don't even joke, those were phenomenal

Yeah, I probably wouldn't bother because at the moment I have literally no time to make one and I'm afraid I might screw it up but the guy who did it got lucky, he got his wacom for free and he bought a monitor that was faulty(not in a majorly bad way) and got it cheap.
Considering the fact that Wacoms are super durable I don't think a DIY version of one would last long so I'm probably gonna get one when mine breaks and I have the money.

The problem is that it all looks the same. It is possible to add charisma to a 3d movie stylewise, but it's very hard.
I saw an artfilm at a festival a week ago that combined 3d environments with 2d traditional animation, which was simply brilliant (forgot the title unfortunately). It just takes alot of creativity to give a 3d movie/render personality, but that can make it very challenging and exciting.
A good example is South Park which is also made in maya
