Anyway I got a webcam today and i setup a stickam account to broadcast.. i figured id give in to newgrounds' voyeuristic qualities... also it might keep me on track in terms of animating.. instead of being distracted by shit.. maybe having the pressure of people watching me will make me more responsible flashwise... lmao

Actually it was kind of boring under my stickam account.. when i moved over to the newgrounds_cam account it started getting more entertaining.. like we had a semi decent discussion about whats on the fp and what sort of things are good and not good and why.. it was quite an engaging timewaster id say. It made me yearn for this thread to be more like that sometime! where its a real open discussion about flash things and differing opinions about happenings and front page shit and hidden gems and shit..i dunno i walked away feeling like i got to mingle and talk about flash on a casual note. ill probably be back to that tmrw

Yeah I'm pretty sure AS is based off of C++ Its basically the same syntax, but It's a weird environment because you don't usually have a stage right in front of you to move things around without code. And for program development you have to learn a bunch of crap like winAPI.

We should designate a day in here to be a "do something flash-productive day".
A day where you dont post in here unless you've done something flash related that day, that you want to share. Doesnt have to be great or even that good, but I'm almost intruiged at the thought of forcing people to make something. Sometimes inspiration comes in very unusual forms and maybe by having people play around in flash and show off what they've made it'll strike up interesting collaborations or ideas down the road.

How do you all feel about that?

I think that every day should be a 'do something productive' day :P

It would be a start atleast. I have been thinking recently, if I took the time I spend at work and really worked on something productive, like flash, or drawing - then i'd have some completed work that i'm proud of. Yesterday at work I was really wanting to walk out and do something worthwhile. Flash was one of the first thoughts on my mind.

What I want to do is say to myself - RIGHT, from now on, you work these extra hours - but at flash. Treat it like a job, make myself get on with it rather than quarelling and my mind or mouse cursor drifting off on to another thought or website.

Yes but this is newgrounds.. we have to lower our standards a bit. :)

OK so tmrw only posts with a link to something you're working on that day or finished that day will be admitted.. every other post will be thrown in the garbage. it'll probably be a ghost town lmao.

Anyway i know theres many users who ARE actually being productive in this thread.. but i also know theres people who are not being at all productive.. they just sort of lurk in here and get caught up in fluff. We have the power of being the most creative and talented (?) forum on the site... there should be alot more creative energy in here. We're like regs and know how ng's flash scene works and hypothetically are active participants in it.. this thread just feels like theres more time being spent comparing dick sizes than really exploring the flash medium.

Excellent idea, we should have those kind of days every now and then. It'll be inspiring.
