some flash stealing website 2006-05-26 10:27:07

http://www.hamsterpaj.net/flashfilmer/ is the offender.

i emailed him and this is what has happened:
Me: you wont be so talented when you're exposed in the newspapers as a flash stealer
Him: > you wont be so talented when you're exposed in the newspapers as a flash
> stealer

First of all, you GUESS that the newspapers will write about this matter.
Since it's your own personal belief, don't treat it as a fact. Sticking to
reality will make discussing with you a lot easier :)
As to my personal belief, I think you will be proved wrong, I really doubt
that any major newspaper will publish even the smallest line about this...

I don't really see how my talent would be affected by articles in the
newspapers. A definition of the word:

# S: (n) talent (a person who possesses unusual innate ability in some
field or activity)
# S: (adj) talented, gifted (endowed with talent or talents) " a gifted
writer"

What the newspapers write about me and our website may change the way
other people look at me and my collegues, but it won't change us. No one
of us has never claimed to be great flash animators.
We are good at PHP, MySQL, system design and managing projects. That's our
talent.

Have a nice day!
Regards, Johan Höglund

Me: it isnt my own personal belief. its a fact. i know where most of those flashes came from.

Him: Either you really misunderstood me, or you've got really cool
fortune-telling abilities :D

> it isnt my own personal belief. its a fact.
Please show me a link to the future article in the newspapers. Oh, mabye
that isn't possible, do you think print-screens can travel in time?

Please explain to me how something that hasn't happened yet is a fact?

> i know where most of those
> flashes came from.
So?
I've never said we make them ourself, they are collected from all over the
Internet That's no secret.

Regards, Johan Höglund

Me: then i'll just make a thread on as many forums as i can and see what they think!

Him: Actually, I don't care about what your internet-friends on forums think,
so there is no need to do so.
But please, instead of ignoring my questions - answer them!

Explain how an article that neither has been written or published can be a
fact. I'm really curious!

Med vänliga hälsningar, Johan Höglund

I'll update you with any other emails.

also send hate mail to him using this address: johan@rodent.se

Yeah, there's about a million of sites that post material from bigger sites without permission. Unless you're some type of Harvard Law graduate or the creator of any of that material on the site, your plea as a fan of some of the work is moreless useless.

I've never said I'm a smartass.

But, what I have done is asking you to explain how articles not yet
written can be a fact and not just a piece of your imagination.

Please tell me, I am so eager to know!

Me: i've just emailed a creator of a flash on your website and asked him.

i am now waiting for the reply!

BumFodder, you are not taking this the right way. You sound like an idiot and he is owning you.

Leave this to the professionals.

Pretty intresting, and I've thought about that.

If you can see any content on the site that is directly stolen, post a link to it and the original work (that in that case must be only for particular websites which the author has given permission to use his/her work) or e-mail them to me so I can make a list of them.

The thing is, that the guy who owns Hamsterpaj is a young boy from Sweden and he has been in the news papers about how he has succeeded and so on.

However, if he isn't familiar with the international copyright laws (which infact are harder in Sweden thanks to a law called Upphovsrättslagen) then I'd be glad to bring this further.

Just a thought, since it'd be fun to have such a shithead brat busted.

why is he repeating everything you say?

i wouldnt think the newspaper would care about it. its just flash animation. most of the people that read the news paper dont even know what flash is.

plus it really isnt that important. not like you're making a lot of money off those animations.

this is the users orange and officer. lovers till the end

Just my point. Why complain when you don't earn any money on what you've created?
I'm neutral to this question. Although I think that the NG-member did react a bit harsh. I mean, making a law suit just because that they've put some flash-files on their site.

And by the way. I wonder how many of you so called "flash creators" have paid for your own Flash-licenses. And don't come with: "Hahaha, mine's from school :P:P:P:P:P" 'cause that doesn't count.

Oh, one more thing, I saw saomeone complaining that they've found Dad 'n' Me on the site. Well, just take a look here and be astonished and start suing every site on the list.

Thanks for me.

But he was in the newspaper for being a great flash artist but he stole the flash so it does go into the newspapers.

Yes. But the website that i'm talking about hasn't got permission for any of the flash but i suspect these websites did. But if they didn't than i suspect Tom Fulp couldn't be arsed to sue 'em

Well, it is wrong to submit stuff to your website without the authors permission but it's not as bad as stealing stuff and posting it saying you made it like abaum.com does.

I don't really know how strict the laws are when it comes to stealing or hosting stuff on the interweb, though i'd say you'd make a much better impression if you'd stop sending short emails about how wrong he is, and more thuroughly explain exactly how the things he does is wrong.
