That's a lot better - there is more detail and you seem to give the impression that you actually care about the work that you're watching or listening to.

Trust me, you'll get more responses from the reviews you write and you might even find it more fulfilling.

Now hopefully you understand my gripe with the users (not just you) who claimed membership of this club and didn't really put much effort or thought into their reviews.

If we all write great reviews, the people who we review for might be more willing to say how good we are and therefore we get more reviews to complete. At the moment, our requests are a finite resource and we must strive to get as many new requesters as possible.

I just wanted to say that I respect you for having the inclination to use the majority of the scale. Too many people say how much they hate something, then give it a 4 (only slightly under 'average').

Alrighty:

Animation: Well, The animation was pretty basic and a little below average but I think that if you don't rush yourself as much, you would be able to do a MUCH better job

Could be more specific. What was wrong with the animation - were there too few frames? Was the movement robotic? Was it something to do with the individual drawings?

I like the the encouragement here. You have a friendly tone.

Graphics: Well, the graphics look really bad and on one or two frames you can see a part where you just selected some of the person and moving him, taking a chunk of background with it. o.O As I said before, don't rush.. you have got all the time in the world.

Again, more friendly encouragement. And you cite a specific example of something to avoid in future. Good stuff!

Story: Well, as far I can see you havent got a story :( Or atleast you dont show any means of telling a story.

Are you serious? The 'story' is the fight between pixel-dude and Wegra. I guess I'm just picking hairs - I know as well as you do that it was negligible.

Overall: I think you could do much better, just keep trying and eventually you could be doing awesome...

A great review - better than the flash deserves, in my opinion.

You could have cited one thing that you liked - what stopped you giving it a 1 or 0? The pretty colours? The silliness? The fact that there was something as opposed to nothing?

As well as giving encouragement, you could have maybe given an example of a job partially done, encouraging the dude to go further.

But you have clear language, give examples of things to work on and in the end, it's a good review.

Yea I didn't really think much of the audio when I was watching the movie, as I was trying to read the subtitles and watch the movie at the same time, I should have told him that he should adjust the frame rate so we can read the subtitles, watch the movie AND listen to the music at the same time, I guess I didn't think of it at the time o.O

I know what you mean. Sometimes we have so many audio requests that it's almost no fun anymore to review that large amount.
But then, nobody forces you to review ALL of them, right? Just review as much as you like and as your time allows.
That way you don't have to quit the club and this club still has an active member more on the list. A win-win situation. ;)

However, if you really want to quit, then feel free to come back at any time you like.

What do you mean with "for them to count"? To be on the members list? No, you only have to post how many points you gathered on Sunday (or earlier) after the first week to be included.

No, it's not like that - we were discussing how some people weren't putting as much effort as possible into their reviews and so xIDoL put some thought into what had been said and improved his technique. We are giving him praise for this.

It's nothing to do with scoring points in the RRC, it's to do with impressing your fellow reviewers with your technique and views on the pieces that we look at.

May I request a review for my new song?

Sorrow Knows Many Names is my most recent song, and I would love to have some constructive criticism on it. I should probably tell you the recording quality is not by any means fantastic and you may need to turn up the volume a little. I hope you will take my lack of ability to achieve better recording quality at the moment under consideration when you review. I really put my all into this song, I hope you like it. This is my first ever request for you guys.

Re-applying is just the same as joining for the first time. Do a bunch of reviews from either Haggard's last list, or the one above, then let us know your starting points total either by this Sunday or next (depending upon which list you chose) and you'll be added to the list. :-)

Sorry to hear that. Like Haggard says, don't feel obliged to maintain a perfect record if you wanna stay in the club - you could skip all the audio for a while, maybe only doing movies/games?

Club updates
Each Sunday or Monday, Haggard or Shanus currently create a list of all the members, counting up their points, calculating various stats and posting a list of requested submissions. Assuming you review the submissions listed, you will get points for them on the following members' update, 6 or 7 days later.

On Thursday, Bezman currently creates a list of all requests and recommendations made up until then, since the previous thursday. This can be seen as a 'preview' of the list that will accompany the following members' update on Sunday/Monday. The points for these are tallied 10 days later.

Requests made between the 'preview list' and the 'members' update' carry over to the next preview list. So you will always have over 9 days to finish the reviews. (Feel free to review submissions as soon as they are requested!)

I don't know. It kinda seems like overkill.

Should I link to the club in my sig?
There's no obligation to do so, but it's certainly appreciated. Remember that you can put a high number in place of the page number in the url and if that page doesn't exist yet, NG will take you to the latest page, whatever it is.

then anyone following that link will always see the latest page.

I don't understand what recommendations are all about!
As mentioned under this section in each list, 'You may make a recommendation if you reviewed 100% of the previous weeks requests and recommendations. It should be over 3 days old and have under 50 reviews.'

As long as your name is on the last 'All requests completed' list, feel free to recommend something you've enjoyed from the portal.

You could use this to let us know about something you think is specially awesome, yet overlooked. If there aren't many game or movie requests, maybe you could make a recommendation so we have something to review.

Does the Review Request Club review stuff for non-NG stuff?
Short answer: no.

Long answer: Milinko used to include youtube requests in the list of requests, but the introduction of a points system didn't leave room for such things. You can request reviews here, but some of us may not have accounts on Myspace/Youtube/whatever or may simply be disinclined to review things outside NG. It wouldn't get nearly as much attention compared to if it were a NG submission.

I'd suggest putting songs on the AP, then making a request that way. It lets us give feedback whilst staying on our favourite site. ;-)

I really hate reviewing audio...From now on I won't be revieing much audio, It seems i am just repeating myself in all my Audio reviews... I don't find it fun so I will only be reviewing games and movies. Thanks...
