Yeah, it was brought to my attention. I've spoken to Ryan and Negative
about it. I do believe Negative has earned a co-author credit in the
traditional NG sense, although I know Ryan is looking at things from a
different angle. We're looking into something that might be able to
please everyone, so we'll see how that goes.

Luis' idea was awesome - if Ryan get's the credit for the flash, at least let Neg have the financial reward (from Newgrounds anyway). Plus Ryabshouldn't be told about it until Neg sends him an e-mail like you said. I can just picture his poor lickle face :)

I could send some emails if you want, but to be honest i think its a bit strange as we all wern't involved in the project. I think it feels like were all just going a little over the top for something Tom will probably sort out.
But at the same time it feels a bit weird saying that, as i know neg has lost ad money etc from this.

I wrote this as a review for Johnny Rocketfingers 2:
People are angry over NegativeOne's non-coauthorship because the only link to an external site on the page is Ryan's website (crackedanimations) while NegativeOne's website (negativeflash) gets no mention whatsoever. Since this is a great game and on the front page of a website that gets tens of thousands of hits per day, the potential traffic is enormous, and crackedanimations gets all of it. Assuming there are ads on both webpages, the money involved here is well over four digits worth. Even if there are no ads, the popularity is shifting in Ryan's favor.
And to those saying "L0l, ryan gave neg creditz in the authorz c0mments so it duzn't matter", think about the following scenario:
A popular music album, lets use 50 Cent's "The Massacre", sells well over a million copies and garners huge acclaim. On the back of the album by the tracks listed in relatively large type it lists "feat. Eminem" as well as the "Shady Ltd." logo. Now, when you open the cd and take out the little folded piece of paper that features lyrics, biographies, etc., if you look on the back page in very small type you can see the words "Bass & Guitar by Steve King". How many of you know who Eminem is, and how many of you know who Steve King is?

Did Ryan really write that? If not, you're misleading people into thinking he's a bigger dick than he is.
You should be able to at least in a small way see Ryan's point of view. The actionscripter should get credit, absolutely, but I don't know if it should be the end of the world if he's not co-authored. Also, and depending on any agreements ahead of time, the actionscripter should be paid and given a portion of the prize money. On Newgrounds, it's almost a given that the ASer will be coauthor. I don't know why he wasn't in this case, it's a free site, even if Ryan did 95% of the work, why not? But take any book for example. Sure the editor and publisher are credited, though neither is on the cover as coauthor. Ryan seems to be coming from that direction. Aaron's name was pretty damn small on the loading screen. Yes, he should have been given a bigger name with a site link and probably coauthor at least on Newgrounds, but no one should be sending the guy rude or threatening emails.
