Yeah, I'd feel cheated by that. No one reads the names and then looks them up for goodness sake.

Ryan is losing respect every minute. He is becoming pathetic and stupid like a child, making lame excuses for what he knows was tight and wrong.
Pah, three mentions. No one clicks 'More' to see the rest of the author's comments. Very few people will visit my site as a result of the two seconds that an unclickable URL of my site and my misspelled name are displayed at the end. The only one that's worth anything is the preloader one, and it's not even clickable or very noticeable. A lot of people I've talked to didn't even notice it and didn't realize I had anything to do with the game.

hey what about if you try uploading it into other sites with your name as author, (or co-author) and with the link of your site inside the swf there are a lot of other places where you can put it like (armorgames, flash player, etc) you can put it before he does and that may give you at least some credit in other places of the web.
( i just hope you have the full .fla file)

Nope. I passed it off to him to add the cutscenes. That's a sneaky plan anyway. Again, I don't really wanna lower myself to his level, so my options are limited. There are people who are working on a solution though.

Not really, JRF2 is a class game and Neg and Ryan (even though he is being a dick) should be proud of themselves for doing such a good job making it. As a long time JRF fan, it's kinda of sad to see the series (potentially) end like this.

come on man it sounds like you are giving up :-( you deservve the credit and you deserve justice, just dont led him do that to you... is really unfair
I'm not really giving up. I'm just told that there's some sort of mediation in the works, so I'm gonna wait to see how that turns out. Plus a bunch of people have been making strides to replace some of the traffic I lost.
I have an idea that will piss off ryan, show people that neg made johnny rocket fingers and bring loads of traffic to negative flash.
Why don't we organise a johnny rocket fingers day. Or "johnny mock-it fingers" day. Where we all just do spoofs of johnny rocket fingers. However, in the flashes you are not allowed to mension ryan at all, and keep saying things like "inspired by negativeOne's JRF2" and just act as if neg made it all. And also have loads of links to his site.

nah inglor tried it and closed the topic.
I would have done johnny saladfingers tho.

Well we should at least have a negativeOne day. Just something to make up for his loss of traffic on his site.
Ah, the gesture is appreciated, but I don't need a day. AG is giving me some ad space, and a number of people have affiliated me on their own site so I'll be getting back plenty of missed traffic.

You know what you should do. Agree to make jrf3 with ryan, and then secretly add a little something with php so that when it has 300 000 views, it starts playing an external animation about what ryan has done, and how gay he is. But you would need to discuise it in the preloader or something.
You know guys, all that can be done about this has been done. Ryan's dug himself into a grave too deep to get out of even if he co-authored neg at this exact moment. He'll never be able to make a game again, or even POST on the forums for help. He'll suffer the consequences himself, there's no need for us to try and "punish" him.

But thats not fun :(
I agree with glaiel stop bumping this thread unless its important. All that can be done from a forum regular perspective has been done.. front page posts.. emails.. reviews.. links etc. just let it be.

neither is what happened to neg. This is a serious issue and having "fun" over it will only make us seem stupid and immature. We don't want to seem immature right now, Ryan is the one being immature about this. But the more we trash and complain and make flashes about it the more it will make us seem like whiney little kids, and people will link that to -1 cause it's about him. Read the reviews, people say that the programmer should stop complaining. He has not publically complained about it in a review or whatever that much. These reviewers are linking our reviews to being "from" neg1. We don't want to hurt his reputation so we can "have fun". It's out of our hands now, we can only wait and see what happens. Ryan will realize the consequences soon enough, and he'll pay then. But for now, we're only making ourselves seem immature.
I would not have know Negative had AS'ed it had this thread not occurred, so yes if you want to be a nice guy coauthor him, but geez, this shit should be agreed upon before - that is why ryan is right. Had ryan been told Neg wanted coauthor before the game was done, he would have the choice of yes or no - but now when he says no - people think hes mean. not his problem.
coauther him.

As it's been said in the thread, we had reached such an agreement. He admittedly went back on that agreement without informing me. But yeah, let's not beat a dead horse. I'm just reiterating things now. Anyone who wants the full story should skim the thread and read my larger posts.
lets make a game: kill ryan khatam!

has anyone got a good caricature of him?
(neg one, you'll do the as and this time be mentioned as author (not co-author), lol)
my games and movs suck, so i am not going to do it

everything above this line is a joke, but you can do it for real if you want
Oh definitely. He did all the boring work, for somebody else's vision. He should most definitely get coauthor.
And no, I'm not an actionscripter.
(Sorry if I'm a little late on this, I saw the topic before but was busy.)
P.S. I'm crediting my voice actor. Then again, his voice really made the flash, well, that and MFP 8. He had the perfect voice.
Dear -Luis-: sorry if this bumping irritates you.
Dear Ryan,
Having only just played your game - Johnny Rocketfingers 2 - I want to compliment your smooth animation and the characters, which can exude personality.
I was driven to write an e-mail though (as opposed to a review) having realised that there seems to be some furore regarding you not giving NegativeOne co-authorship.
It seems that the problem is that you are taking the term 'co-author' in this context too literally. Whilst in the real world, a co-author might be viewed as someone who has equal rights to the vision, co-authoring someone on NG neither diminishes your rights nor will it confuse any members.
In the context of NG, a co-author is simply seen as someone who might have helped in any real way to the game. Anyone whose work helped bring the project to fruition. Doing all the programming certainly qualifies.
If NegativeOne were credited via NG's system, the members of NG would still view you as the artiste. You alone brought Johnny Rocketfingers to life and all the fans will always know that.
'Co-authorship' will simply give Aarron's site some more exposure, whilst diminishing none of your own.
From reading a forum thread I understand that you may have recently suffered torrents of written abuse. Such reactions are indeed childish and I understand to you it may have seemed as if Aarron was responsible for all this. Such e-mails certainly wouldn't encourage me to take action.
I simply beseach you to give thought to Aarron, who put work into the programming, primarily for the exposure. 'Co-authoring' is practically a misnomer on the NG system of crediting. Fans will still give you all the respect and adulation you rightfully deserve.
It will simply grant Aarron the recognition he deserves for the amount of work he did do. Though you may consider it small, the work he did was vital.
Crediting Aarron will lose you nothing but perhaps gain you much respect.
I hope you give this serious thought. If there is some reason why you are not prepared to co-author Aarron, tell the fans in the forums, as there seems to currently be some ill-feeling on both sides.
Unfortunately, the unruly rabble on, drowning out all other noise but there are many intelligent forumites as you must know.
If your only reason for not co-authoring is worry that you won't recieve the full glory you deserve, please know that this is not the case. Fans of the series will always love and respect your work, though this particular action of yours may strike us as obnoxious.
Be funky,
- Bez

Neg, i found your flash on EbUmsworld (okay, ebaum)! you should mail him to take YOUR flash down, or atleast to put YOUR name above it (not ryan)

What were you doing on eFag's world? Did that whole eBaum = Hitler phase teach you nothing!?
2 reasons
1: because my ip changed i was allowed on the forums again (with jokes i've put an anti-ebaum joke (what's the difference between ebaum and a thief), and i guess my ip is blocked again now
and 2: i read almost all rocketfinger reviews, and ryan (hitler2) has uploaded it to ebaumsworld
(and did you see i spelled it like eBUMsworld in the prevous post?

I resent that!
Anyhoo, negative is mentioned in the author's comments of JR2.
