We try to get rid of any ads that contain malicious spyware, etc. I can view all the ads, but my computer blocks anything that maybe mailcious. If people woud simply run their computer with the latest updates and some basic spyware/adware blocking software (that doesn't block ads, just blocks anything malicious an ad may try to do) they shouldn't have any problems.

I don't really get pop up ads much (and if i do they are just a white page) but as for the banners i don't see why anyone would have a problem with them it's not like they are forced to click on them and some of them go well with the site's scenary anyways. =)

Yes, but most programs that do that also block popups. Most browsers have a built in blocker on their browsers with the default turned on, and I dought anyone is gunna turn it off. Instead of
selling ads from other companies, maybe you should try finding a buisness alternative, like a NG online store where you can sell your own merchandise for example, like random accessories like mouse pads, mugs, posters, printed magizines, etc. You guys were going down the right path with stickers and Alien Hominoid. I bought that game and no popups were involved with my purchace.

Excellent idea. From what I've heard, online stores aren't a terribly effective way to generate money for your site. Surely it's there if you want it, but I'd be willing to bet that newgrounds wouldn't produce nearly enough revenue to keep it running without other ads.

My art gallery, because I'm better than you at things.

lol, i cant believe I was unaware of that. I guess the advertising of their stuff and other crap ads
are way out of balence.

This topic actually prompted me to add Newgrounds as an exception to Firefox's adblock extension. I can't think of anything wrong with having to put up with a few ads if it's for the Newgrounds I know and love (minus the stupid people).

Hell yeah, I've never had a problem with banners, if they're bringing your guys site income, hell more power to ya, i especially like the new NG ones advertising the AH GBA game and PSP cast access. I will agree, on the pop ups but the banners are harmless.

This is all moot now. Wade's not on, and he can unlock this as needed. He's already made his decisions.
