You know what would be interesting? Put together a newgrounds "electoral college"; a group of 50-100 users who have been around awhile and/or voted the fairest in your guys' eyes. Let people still vote whatever the hell they want, and that will be the people's vote, just like in a presidential election. Then, let the electoral college vote, and have that as the electoral, the actual, score. I think that would probably be very democratic.

Perhaps you could even have the populus pick some of this select few (i.e. if 100 people say they want synj to be on the board, he'd be on, etc).

i just read ur msg, i will try to be responsible on voting but i have a question.... if i vote on somthing...it tells me i get 2 exp points and if i vote for 4 more i can add my points to my account...well...if i vote on another thing, it still tells me 4 more....today i voted on about 7 things, each time it told me i needed four more things...i am wondering if its because i am using "opera" as my web browser...do u have any solutions?

Hmm, I believe the +=- Idea isn't a good one, wont work in my books, neither will the ABCDEF one, alot of people wont know what these mean, koreans could think +=- means something in their language, who knows? Another note, no one with more points and flashes submitted should get more power, that COULD make things worse. What if that person was someone who blammed alot? That's alot of work for Tom and Wade to go through everyone on NG for stuff like that. Not to mention all their other hard work they gotta do to keep this site up and running, we all know its us the fans who keep it running, but if we continue to have these stupid people, this will turn to a massacre. I like the other guys idea, the hall of shame, thats a good one, put their account name in there, ban them from site, put reason why, and for how long. Then email them all that information. By the way, Wade, you haven't answered my question before, IS THERE A WAY TO KNOW IF SOMEONE WATCHED THE MOVIE BEFORE VOTING OR NO? If not, then please make one, it'd make things easier. PS: I got cable and the site loads like a motherfucker now, good work! :D. Another PS: I'm new to newgrounds but I'm a fast learner, and I love this site alot! KEEP UP THIS GREAT SITE! :)

What you are doing Fulp, is forcing people to vote good on good movies. But what is a good movie???? You might think a certain movie is good, but to someone else it could be total crap.

The point he is trying to make is that ZERO should be reserved for absolute dirt submissions (and stolen/rascist/other inapproriate stuff). It's not that hard of a concept...you can't go any lower than ZERO, so think to yourself if a submission TRULY deserves it. Not liking something is perfectly fine, but giving it a zero means it has absolutely NO redeeming qualities WHATSOEVER. If you think something is boring or uninteresting...does it have somewhat decent graphics? Appropriate sound/music? Something??? If so, give it a 1 or a 2. Think before you hand out a zero, that's all he's saying.

you did overstep yourself by posting those warnings. It was more like HITLER or SADAM HASSAM'S agenda than what I would expect of the Fulps. I was greatly disappointed!
I suppose you had reason with other users, but near 1/2 of what I've voted it savior points and that is documented! More than 2/5ths of my blam/saviors point are SAVIORS and I've yet to find anyone else who beats that!!!!! O-KAY?????

No You cant do this its a breach of Newgrounds rights for free voting. While Im against to voting only 0 for exp purposes you cannot say how people can and cant vote no matter what. Jerks are Jerks but if a movie is trully great than the pros will outweigh the cons. And since it takes a low low score to get blammed what are most people scared of? Maybe I dont understand or underestimate the problem but this whole campaign sounds oppresive. What about people who vote 5 for crap isnt that just as bad?

Yes, voting 5 on utter crap is just as bad, that is why they are going to clean that up too, and on your other subject of jerks are jerks let them post, think of if a jerk had ALOT OF VOTING POWER! I mean ALOT! They vote 0, which could be like 50 0's to a new user. That's a big breach, what if there was a gang of people who did this to everything? well, there you have it wade, you wanted to calm things down, but instead your post even made me write THIS.

my very first submission has been thrown outta the portal because only 3 people had voted on it. it was an ok movie. well, thats life, kismet, i have to accept it. others will, too.

what i don't want to accept however, is that you think it's necessary to tell us that it is "mostly not appropriate" to vote 0 on movies. what the HELL?!? i vote fairly on movies, i take my time to watch. and i vote what I think is RIGHT. not what ANYBODY ELSE thinks is appropriate.

BTW, if you think "voting 0" is inappropriate, remove the 0 from the voting system.

There's already enough crap around the portal. So if I stumble across 3 crapshitmovies one after the other and vote 0 on all of them you gonna kick me?

with all that said - i will continue to vote 0 if i think a movie deserves it.

You could get rid of the blam/protection points and instead have a thing where you get a point if your vote was the same as the average vote.

I think you also need to make it clearer what each score means.

I'm not sure about this, but I think people need a bit more motivation to start voting higher. Some people probably are, but when they vote a 2, or maybe 3 on a movie that's blammed by the other users they miss out on a protection point. The viewpoint would be " Gee, before, when I voted 0, I got a point. I listen to wade, and no point. What happened?". There has to be some way of getting the ball rolling, because without entire support the idea may not work.

I also just wanted to say that I agree with your opinion of letting low end movies get by. This will probably in the long run create better authors and improve content.

One last question: What happened to the 'batting average' in personal profiles? Did I miss something? I must have.

Hey dumbass they are trying to prevent shit! Hitler or Suddam are in a totally different category. Hitler and Suddam are in the "Leaders with fucked up ideas" category. The fulps ideas are not fucked up. I did also say shit about tom to him. I dont think they are as bad as Hitler but I dont vote to get experience. I vote 0 all the time because I think the movie should be off the site, and the ones I havent viewed that I give 0 are because I want to not because I need to.

I have noticed something...

I can't be sure if the cause is the "blam" scare, but newgrounds has been running excruciatingly slow. After the upgrade I noticed a difference, it was faster. Now... it takes 3 minutes to load the portal page. Is this just me? I have a cable modem.

I was the person that e-mailed Wade initially about this problem and I'm very glad that you listened Wade. It's a big problem. I fully support taking away ALL the experience of those that vote 0 unfairly.

If clock movies always get blammed, then why do about 15 movies show up when you click on the bar of moview made by say, strawberry or orange clock?

I find them entertaining, that is, is the intention is to be silly. A lot of clock movies are overlooked mainly because they have clocks. Many of these movies are great and show a lot of effort. There are a few poser clocks that are kind of annoying but for the most part they have good movies.
