He does have a point there. I mean, Wade did encourage everyone to vote high on that movie and such.

Still though, it's quite a biased idea to pick out a group based on name or whatnot. It kind of has a Hitler-esque feel to it, a looked-up to leader like Wade (compare to Hitler) leading a bunch of people who follow orders like crazy (Nazis) to crack down on other groups (Clocks, Locks, SS members). I know that it's easier to target a group, but still.

Well, talk about falling on deaf ears, but allow me to take a swing of my own:

Believe it or not, but the major Flash groups largely do regulate themselves and don't condone cheating the award system. For instance, if you'd try to encourage people to vote 0 on someone else's Flash for the benefit of another on the clockcrew.net bbs, you'd probably get banned or at least told off for it. It's not our way.

Yes, we pull our shenanigans now and then to make some more frustrated NG members tear their hair out -- but we don't make a sport of cheating the award system. In all the existing groups, it's usually specific members who do this, repeatedly. It can't be difficult at all to simply look at the Review Crew pick, Underdog and Turd of the Week once every week, and see if the person wasn't cheating - in which case you can just remove the movie, reprimand the user, etcetera.

Taking action against members who choose to mark themselves with recognizeable names, such as Clock, Lock, Star or even Barney, is not only unfair but also pointless. They'll just create regular names, and then you'll have to deal with the real issue - biased voting. Good luck rooting that out.

There's only one thing I'd recommend you do - when a movie that won an award gets deleted, give the award to the next eligible movie in line. Then just look at the winners of Review Crew, Underdog and Turd (just three movies a week), and take action when you need to.

I'd also like to stress that unless I'm misinterpreting Wade's post, he was saying that he'd simply PREFER Flash groups regulate themselves responsibly -- not that, for instance, Clocks are now suddenly barred from voting/reviewing movies by fellow members.

Good; I don't like all this manipulation of the system. Most of the "clubs" are a way of sneaking shitty flash in and have it win awards. I hate it when people act like it's "their" site, when it's really Tom, Wade, and Liljim's site.

Renegade just banned a whole bunch of people for bumping old topics here. The only day Clocks are allowed to run rampant is Clock Day. I'm sure even Wade's not Scrooge enough to stop our one day a year fiesta

Disallowing clocks from voting on clock flashes isn't really smart. Most clocks out there vote fairly.
Besides, would that mean that someone in the clockcrew would end up forgetting about the week thing, vote on the flash, then get banned?

Man I can relate to this! I just lost review crew pick with a score of 9.43/10 to a freakin daily toon star syndicate movie! I watched their movie and, well... It really wasn't so good. I mean it had a little bit of effort thrown in. But nothing to differen't from their other stuff.

I looked at the review crew pick and I noticed that daily toons have won it quite a few times. This really seems kind of unfair in my opinion. I think it should be changed so that a movie has to have a score of at least 3.50/5 along with the high review score. That would help to deter some of the 10 review spamming.

We are the biggest group, the first group, and the best group. If you don't like mass voting, then do something else about it, not by denying our "right" to vote on movies. I see no difference in the normal NG General discussion.

This is a hard subject. It is hard to determine wether a review or vote is fair or not. But if something viable could be done, I would support it. It is really annoying when, for example, one of my movies gets an extremely low score (in a review) and yet no clue about why the low score is ever left.
