Welcome to the Barracks! I'm the Barracks Recruitment Officer, Supreme Commander Slash Firestorm. It's my job to examine new prospective recruits and see if they've got what it takes to join the EGB.

Let me explain how the recruitment process works.

Currently you are in "Standby Status" while your case is considered. During this process, me and the other Barracks members will take a look at your record---posting quality, review history/quality, flash record, etc---and see if there are any problems.

Don't worry, we're not too strict about these things; we just want to make sure that you have a decent posting record (not too many one-liners and no flaming/spamming), don't make abusive reviews or rulebreaking flash, etc..

After a period of discussion amongst the Barracks members, I will make the final call. Assuming that no objections are raised, this Standby Status should only last approximately 24 hours. I will PM you with the final verdict.

Barracks members can go to the appropriate thread for voting and discussion. Remember that you must be signed in to view and post in the thread, and speak now or forever hold your peace.

Meh, it's all opinion. Yeah, I see a lot of decent flashes. But I also see flashes that really shouldn't pass, make it through. The program based off of Portal Guard, or which ever way you want to call it. But it takes the PG further by opening the page and "clicking" whatever the programmer chooses. I'm sure that once you get the Portal Guard code, finding and putting in a "open webpage (newgrounds.com/portal/view/xxxxxxxxxx)" code and a "select button (woot! all my 5 r belong to this)" code wouldn't be that hard if you knew how to do it. I know that there are codes to click buttons, and I don't think that telling the program to open a webpage could be that hard.

That's lots of gaps there. I would not use that Voting Bot I would like The Portal Guard, which alerts you do UJ flashes. Really exited I will level up in two days time swapping my Nunchunks, or Nunchaku for The Knife. Looking at that account its does not seem to be active still may be just a stat whore. The portal I have not checked yet I will soon though. Salutes!

Wow, after about a year and a half hiatus, I've finally gotten time to return to the BBS on Newgrounds. I was apart of the EGB a way way way long time ago and I'm wishing to get back but I'm not sure on how things work on the recruitment process nowadays. But, I'm here now for better or for worse.

Yeah, but there's nothing that we can do within the rules to prevent this. Whereas the spam issue is something that can be dealt with by people pressing the 0 button. We might have a better case for this if we can garner proof of abuse.

In theory, this is possible, but if it were the case, then the scores would already have rocketed and many more spam submissions would have passed judgement. I'll point out that my Blam numbers are actually climbing, so it can't be all bad news.

I guess you're right. My blams go up and down, but I haven't seen any "all pass" day since Clock day, so he's probably the only one. So I got a little worried...

A bit early to be thinking about Clock Day.

On a different note, I tend to vote most things which aren't spam and are more or less decent through how do you set your standards 'cause somehow I end up not blamming a whole lot but I'd like to boost my blams quite a bit.

That shouldn't be too hard, I remember the last clock day i voted (2007), I got quite a few blams, from the explicit sex ones, there were alot of meat spin submissions that day, I'm just glad other people had the sense to blam it.

I got very few blams on clock day and even the more unsettling ones got through. One that sticks in my mind from last year was an image of a wolf or wolfish dog severed head in a toilet. I blammed it but it still got through. I might submit a spammy image of anyold crap to see if it gets through or not. But it contradicts bot the portal and the barracks.

Hello DaRk I don't think you would know me I joined last year, but welcome back to EGB. As you can see lots of changes NEVR a mod, although he quit the club around September. Members have been and gone as well as loads of new members. I did not get a single blam on Clockday its only another 7 months away. I cant believe the last one was five months ago. Talking of spam I keep voting o on them but they pass you may of heard of The Cyberen series, usually passed with a score of 2 mostly loops I think its spam but that's just my opinion. The author http://princess-laucherella.newgrounds.c om/. I think she said her account was deleted twice!. DD have been submitting crap again not vast but annoying.

aldlv thanks I level up tomorrow. I'm so excited to be trading my Nunchunks for The Knife, now that's a weapon I know the name of. No I did not notice the two lines things, but I voted for my favorite flashes of the month. Usually I get to every month. Its a cool feature and I like the honor of being able to help a author win. My sound gone again shit no b/p for me. I have got none today which sucks but I was occupied by my game I was playing. So I have not been to active on the portal or Rage's thread I want to be though. Your b/p rate aldlv is amazing mine around 2b/p per day!

I wasn't feeling too good at the start of the day - 5 hours sleep doesn't help when you've grown accustomed to considerably more over the Xmas break. Mind you, it certainly improved when I had a meeting with the boss and was given a 20% wage increase.

Sleep? What's that?? That's part of my issue. I have been getting no more then 3 hours sleep for the past week. Mind you, I was in bed....staring at the clock. UGH. Finally hit the Doc up yesterday and he gave me something. I hate medication so I was reluctant to take it....it really didn't work all that great. I'll give it another shot tonight....who knows.

Portal is slow.....and I only have a few more points to my next badge. It always happens that way.

cadreamer hope you get well soon. I have leveled up to The Knife some research on Wikipedia, and I found out its a Bowie Knife powerful looking was ready for a change. I wanted to have these for ages. Wont level up till March now which is fair, I think two months between levels is a good time. I have not been that active on the portal got one save today, I think I will get round too reviewing again. Last time I reviewed it was for a spam flash, which insulted a review mod called Malachy it got blamed anyway. The flash I linked to is now blammed I did not Pm anyone strange that though. Hope you get better soon. I'm off to get some more b/p for my badge salutes.

About the roster:
I'm haven't been making lots of headway in b/p partly because I have become stricter with what I save. But mostly due to holiday absence and lots of school stress after that. I hope I'll be back to a better speed soon.

Just a thought here. Is it just me or did people save things based on whether they were a good contribution to the site a couple of years back? Now it seems to me as though anything which isn't plain crap gets through regardless of the fact that it's not really good either.

On the story in that thread it's going to develop further one day but right now our characters are in a wacky spot, don't forget to play along in the fact that Bedn's in on the drug scandal
