Major byteslinger is accepted into the Barracks. Welcome aboard! Hopefully now you'll have a reason to post, lol.

First thing you should do is register at our forums, so I can validate you and allow you full access. This will let you do things like vote on future prospective recruits and view confidential information (which we don't have right now, lol).

Hello Sir-Nuts lovely to see you posting on here again well as you can see, I leveled up last month to level 27, and got this cool Nunchunks. They are very good but I'm eager to get to level 28 which I will sometime next month around 8th January so not long. Cereal mass deletion was cool I got like 50 blams because of it, so that's a big plus, I'm also now Sergent as you can see. On the whole lots of spam artists like (DuckDvison) got deleted but now are back again. Anyway do you like your level 24 Bronze Gaunlet?. And welcome to the barracks Major byteslinger.

Congratulations to byteslinger of course. We hope the barracks will continue being a fun and productive place </office talk>

I hope all of the rest are just as happy to learn this thread is not far from the 1,000th page, while it is no reason to spam or make useless posts, it is exciting to know we are about to cross that threshold. Although I'd prefer if users didn't make too many " happy 1,000th page" because it is always possible posts could be removed and then it would just look stupid.

Yeah. it's pretty damn exciting, howver I do agree that celebrations as such should be kept to a minimum, or at the least accompanied by a worthwhile post.

Almost there guys, almost there.

Yeah, I agree. It's OK to say something like that at the end of a post for example, but not just posting to say it.

Thanks for that. I still think that it doesn't look as good as the Chainsaw. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, just not as good as 39.

I can't wait to get some of the more badass levels over the next few months :P

I think that cleaver is one of the coolest ones myself, I think the levels are all more or less cool after 20. The ones I don't like are 15,18,19 and 20 apart from them I'm not too fussed. Usually to me the best level is always the next, which then as soon as you have it loses it's desirability. Maybe that just counts for the lower averagely cool levels.

Yeah I never liked level 40. The chainsaw is much stronger than it. Anyway after level 41 all weapons are great. My level isn't that bad, but when I level up my weapon will be horrible. A baseball bat? I hate it >.<a nd levels 18 and 19 are bad too IMO.

That's what I get for missing so many deposits... I could be level 22 right now >.<

I was lucky and I got to miss the bulk of the crappy levels and started with a decent level. I missed a months worh of deposits this year so I'm about a levele behind what I could have been.

Me too, started with level 28, I was still lucky enough to progress till now. Level 35 isn't far away now.

1000th Page!!!!! Congratulations EGB! 1000 pages of serving Newgrounds. Job well done. Its crazy to think back 146 pages and getting to be the first recruit of the current recruiting process. We've all come along way. If these pages has shown us anything, its that we can survive no matter what and that the portal does need us.

Unfortunately I must put myself on the inactive list. If this past semester has shown me anything, it's that this following year I will be diving farther into the rabbit hole of my future. I've had time to think, and being on my first true break in a long while has shown me I no longer have the energy to continue to serve the portal in full capacity as I once did. I will drop in every now and then and might contribute to the conversation and judge new recruits, but I can no longer keep myself on the active list knowing I can't commit to the Elite Guard Barracks like I once have. I don't regret anytime I've spent here in the EGB, but I just don't have the time or energy.

It does sadden me to be inactive, but I am glad that this group will still be here to protect newgrounds. I might be active later next year, who knows? Drop me a pm anytime.
Thank you EGB

Thankfully enough I haven't missed a huge amount of deposits, I missed about a month in May/June when I hadn't yet developed a great interest in the site. That said, had I been around for that time I'd be rid of this cursed whip and be Level 16 by now.

Also, happy 1000th page everyone, it's finally happened!

So I thought I'd tell you guys that I'm still alive, and that college has really taken up the last 4 months of my life really. But I've kept a really solid pace throughout. My last exam is tomorrow and then it's5 weeks of freedom, also Supreme Commander is so close I can smell it. My goal is to get it before the year is out.

Also Happy 1000th page. Great club, glad it's still as popular as ever :D

If I had deposited all the days I missed... I'd be only maybe a week's worth ahead of where I am now. Yeah, I'm on a lot. Only reasons I missed any days are:
1. Computer was in the shop a couple of days last November.
2. Took one night off last November for a quiz bowl competition.
3. Anime and imageboards took out one day over the summer.
4. I was in the hospital for a week at the end of August, and my brother missed a deposit for me.
That's all the days I ever missed, though that's only the last year and two months or so...

Also, happy 1000 to the EGB!

Response to The Elite Guard Barracks 2008-12-18 20:48:03

I missed a lot of deposits because once I left Newgrounds for some months (I came back on August, this year). I missed 247 deposits, I could be level 22 right now >.<

Talking about deposits, I won't be home from 31st December until 6th January. I will be in some place where I won't be able to access Newgrounds, so I would like someone to deposit for me. It's only 6, maybe 7 days, so it shouldn't be too hard. Is anyone interested? If so, post here or PM me. If you can't or you just don't want to do it, don't worry, I'll find someone else to do it for me ;)

Also, that means that the next roster update will be on 7th or 8th. Then, the next update will be on 1st February, or 15th, I don't know if I'll be on vacations in February.

Happy 1,000 pages :D

300 pages after I joined, and this club is going strong. I love it!

Unfortunately I must put myself on the inactive list.

Well, I'm glad you were with us for that short time, but I understand life getting in the way. My numbers haven't been great, but I've been trying my best to get some points in. Personally, I don't know how I could still live with all of the homework I have to do.

It does sadden me to be inactive, but I am glad that this group will still be here to protect newgrounds. I might be active later next year, who knows? Drop me a pm anytime.

Hopefully you'll come back around during the breaks, and during the summer. You are a good soldier, and a great person. You will be missed here.

Holy 1,000 pages, Batman!

I never thought in a million years that trying to start a club about the Elite Guard ranks would come to this! Get a few idiots on the Internet together that just wanted to have fun and look what developed out of it! I'm quite proud of what the members of this club turned this place into, and quite happy that we're continuing to thrive after all this time. Sure, the Barracks has had its high and low times, but they were all good times in the end.

It's fun to look back on the thread every now and then and think about the way it was back in my college days screwing around on Newgrounds, and watching the club develop and grow into what it is today. Thanks to all its members, this place really did become 50 times better than I ever imagined it could be. I know I haven't been around for a while, and maybe it's for the best. My time on Newgrounds was fun while it lasted, but when you get older, it's hard to stay active on a site meant for teens and younger people. Hell, if you look at my post history, you'll notice that my last 2,000 posts or so were basically to the EGB, and, well, not much else. It's a great place to be, as I know I can always return and find Newgrounds' greatest here calling the EGB home.

Well, time to raise my Yuengling and say to all of you Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy Holidays to all. Here's to a new year and another thousand pages!

*salutes*

330 deposits missed for me, almost an entire years worth... a good peercentage of those were just after a signed up, as it was sometime before I used the site for anything other than watching movies on the front page. But also my insitance on getting every deposit myself means I miss quite a number every year when I don't have the opportunity to get on the internet. I'll be missing another 2 weeks worth over New Year when I'm at my girlfriends. Sooner or later real life has to take priority, and although I am proud of the stats I have accumulated they are far from the most important thing in the world.

Too true, my days on here are numbered as I head ever onwards towards real life. I'll be moving in with my girlfriend in the Summer, and starting my chosen career as a biology teacher soon after, at which point I may be forced to retire for good. But it has brought many a good time over the years, and I've enjoyed every minute.

Well, time to raise my Yuengling and say to all of you Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy Holidays to all. Here's to a new year and another thousand pages!

And to you too, sir, as always a pleasure to see you here.

So a happy 1000th page to the EGB, I feel honoured to have been here for the vast majority of them (900+ and counting...), and heres to 1000 more!
