It's a great game, but I'm just lacking the time to play on it at the moment. I'm still infatuated with Gemcraft and I have Spore to keep me going nicely. I have promised myself that I will get to this game and complete it, since it looks so damned good.

The issues with the lack of free time have hit home, sadly - this course is keeping me away from my beloved computer games, but it will allow me some time soon :)

The game that I have been playing a lot and has taken a lot of time away from me in the last week is this. I just find it addicting and every time I'm done with all of my work and it gets to be late at night I play it before I go to bed. I got to level 61 on one level.

Response to The Elite Guard Barracks 2008-10-12 10:23:10

I played one level of that game and got bored, it just didn't have much sticking power for me, it was pretty much like all the other games like it. I found the Mastermind game a little more intresting as well as some other games. I'm kind of sick of tower defence games now though.

I know what you mean. I spent 12 hours (6AM - 6PM) at a stupid robotics competition (where I did nothing but sit in the stands and cheer), then I came home and was too tired to do anything but watch Alien and a couple of other shows.

And now, with the PS3 gaming feast of all feasts coming up, I'm going to have no money and no NG time left. There are like 5 games I want coming out in October alone. I'm excited, but some games are going to have to wait before I can get them.

Response to The Elite Guard Barracks 2008-10-12 22:41:28

I don't play much in the way of games, but when i do i love playing violent sniper type game here ones.

Not the exact game but i love adventure type games like this on.e

Excellent game classic i love some of the oldies as well, and i do enjoy non violent games like puzzles etc.

Just want to thank SlashFirestorm for his fast reply to my question, thank you for the helpful suggestion. Keep an eye out for ones which pass i do try i have saved some links, to help me keep track.

I was out celebrating a friend of my girlfriend's birthday on Thursday night, was working on the course all Friday night and Saturday was busy working on a friend's house, before socialising with family. Great fun, but a little expensive

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadian Guards. I'm back from a month in Germany. I missed Oktoberfest by 1 day. Damn military exercise. Got to see Dachau and Munich though. And Nearly stepped on a few mines and old artillery shells...

Yeah that's the biggest thing about the game really. It's boring up to about level 10 and then several thousand balloons will come by all in the same level and that's when it gets fun and challenging. For the longest time my roommate and I didn't think we could get past level 58, but I finally got to level 61 and when he used my same strategy he got to level 60.

Well there were a couple of stolen reviews on it by the time that I got around to looking at it, but sadly I wasn't on to blow my whistle when you posted this. Just bad timing I guess.

Well anyone here a fan of the Jerry movie? i love it its from last year but it rocks finanlly i written a review for it i gave it 8/10 ,as it was a little on the long side ad the ending good but sad to see that happen. I like the new movie as well. Finding lots of abusive reviews today been looking for link one been removed which is cool

I know a guy in Canada. he's not thankful this year. And quite frankly, I understand him.

I mean, he lives in Canada...I live next to suicide bombers and I can think of more to be thankful for. Oh well.

Well if it makes you feel any better it isn't actually singling you out, it is in fact a rather clever bit of programming, even if it is exploited negatively. Whoever clicks it will see "___ is a fucking faggot" with your username where that blank is.

What's even more impressive is that as a test I logged out and watched it, to see if it would screw with the programming. No dice, instead it read "You are a fucking faggot".

The lengths that spammers will go to nowadays...

Ha, yeah I tested the same thing out last night.

I tried the same exact thing.

Well this is a very old programming trick that people use to do with away messages on AIM. They would put the code into their away message and whoever read it would get something like, "RohantheBarbarian, I slept with your mother." I got into trouble with it one time when a person didn't know that it was code that used everyones name just not theirs and they freaked out on me. They wouldn't even believe that it was a code.

Have I missed a beat here? What is so bad about living in Canada? When my cousin came back she spoke very highly of it (granted this was a couple years back).

No, you're just reading the cynicism of Phantom.

I went to Canada back in 1988, it was wonderful. I do plan to go again at some point, but I've got to get myself a well paid job and make the plans properly. I want to drive east coast to west coast over about 2 months and then fly back, possibly via Denver, to catch an Ice Hockey game or two :P

Great, now I look like a muppet. I use to love watching Ice hockey when on holiday, I can only find it on tv at about 3 am here in the U.K. No sport is worth being up that late.

Self flattery is not a welcome principle of the barracks.

Anyway, Halloween page pattern is up for a while now, it's close to last year's, but I think it is a tad different.

The layout is actually bad. It was probably done fast because the NG's staff seems to be very busy and layouts don't seem to be very important and I agree with them. There's most important stuff to finish then layouts.

I'll explain why the layout is bad. First of all the left and right layout of NG's with those halloween banners are cut off for me because i have a 22 inch computer screen and on the left banner there's this line that sicks out. It's not really a big deal but hey i like to point things out :)

Back in 2001, I watched each of the 6 games of the Stanley Cup Finals live. Colorado beat New Jersey 4-3 and I loved every minute of our triumphant conclusion to Mission 16W. Brodeur may be the master now, but Patrick Roy spanked his ass good in that season's playoff :P

For the record, I would nap for a few hours, then get up and watch the game. God, I drank so many cans of cider over those 10 days, it was incredible.

I was kind of hoping the Devils would win that time, surprised at how they blew a 3-2 lead, overall I didn't really care

At least Ray Borque didn't have to worry about missing a ring in his Hall of Fame resume though

I agree. Very little effort was put into int, mostly just a slight redrawing of last year's design. They did add a Madness guy hanging over a couple of Tankmen on the right, along with the cobwebs on the bottom, but they could have waited another couple of days to finish it up.

Also: Oh fuck....

Hmm, I haven't been on much in the last few days, so maybe I'm missing something here, but at the moment there are a lot of UJ spam submissions celebrating "StagBeetle Day". I know this is probably some random day for spammers to fill the Portal with crap, but I've never heard of it. Have they done this before?

One of the oldest players to win his first Stanley Cup. Dave Andreychuck emulated him a few seasons later, with the Lightning, I believe.

I think it's cropped up before. Just be on alert and judge each submission as you normally would - blams are still freely available, I would like to remind all members.

Ahh, for Pete's sake, they do this sort of random acts of stupidity all the time. If they get bored, you'll easily spot a new R.I.P _____ day for a while, it's a little annoying, but harmless in spam count measures. It's much like having a chihuahua hump your leg, it's annoying, but one kick and it's broken.

Speaking of humping Chihuahuas, Coop, how is your family doing?

Well, it's been a good day from both perspectives, I think. I'm getting both Blams and Saves in quite respectable numbers at the moment, so let's see if I can up the ante and really set myself up for the top 50 soon.

Belligerent and numerous.
