So when I get there, I'm sweating a bit and out of breath. I go to my appointment, and the guy says to me that the letter I brought proving my acceptance to my chosen university (which was an online print-off) wasn't the one they accepted, and that I had to wait for the hard copy to be sent to me before I can open my student account.
OK. Turns out you will get the real college experience. Part of that is dealing with fucking stupid administration.
Rule #1: The Registrar's Office is full of fucking morons
Rule #2: The Bursar's Office is full of even dumber fucking morons
Enjoy!

Salutations EG'ers! I'm Tails, head of the NGPD, just stopping by to pay a friendly visit! I do notice that there was some talk about a certain demand for guardsmen not being met and I do wish to help.
Nice to see you around here, Tails! I've been meaning to jump by the NGPD lately, so this might just catalyze me doing so.
However, I'd like to know first off what is the significant purpose of these guardsmen? I understand that it gives our members a proper introduction to their potential future as elite guards, but is there anything more to it?
Well, here's how it works. We have plenty of people that like to come here before rankups, and those (be them in the NGPD or no) that are anxious to join our ranks can come here before they are full members and become guardsman. Basically, it comes down to if you are close to the B/P necessary or if you have a garbage whistle, you are qualified to be a Guardsman before you become a full member.
I don't mean to undermine this whole operation but if there's not much to do as guardsmen, then I can safely assume that my guys will be perfectly content with the NGPD. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I wish to understand the situation before I begin to help.
Depending on the person, they may like the NGPD better or the EGB better, so it's really their choice. It's simply one more option we provide to those members that are close to meeting the requirements. There's no reason that someone could be a Guardsman in the EGB while still being a Police Captain in the NGPD to ease the transition. Again, it's all up to them.
Also, where's Slash? I haven't seen him around HQ in a while.
He's been gone from here for a while too. He lurks, I know, but he rarely posts even here.

In addition to being granted an honorary position in the Barracks, the Guardsmen have their own section on the roster, which can be helpful in tracking how much B/P they require to reach the EGB. The Guardsman position can also serve as something of a semi-membership phase for those ex-NGPDers who need to fix their whistle etc before they can apply to join.
Right. Either that, or if they want to coexist in both groups during their transitory period. Maybe they'd like to get to know their Barracks buddies before they're honorably discharged from the NGPD. Also, the statistics (thanks to NEVR and Joshiwa) are good motivators to those who which to excel in B/P.
He's around, but he's not as active as he used to be. Thankfully, Eagle has make a valiant return, so we're not leaderless by any means.
VALIANT RETURN. NOW you're stretching it. :-)
