As for the deputy recruitment officer thing...yeah, it would be wise.

It would be a good idea to have another member able to take on the responsibility.

My first idea is to simply make all officers capable of handling recruitment affairs, but I'll need a complete list of officers first, to see who is still active and who is not, as the current officer list on the EGB forums is fairly old. Plus we need to see which roles need filling, too. All active officers should PM me with their titles/duties so that I can make a record of them. I'll contact any officer who does not message me and see if they're still active/giving a damn.

I really have not seen another officer, other than yourself, active in the EGB for quite sometime. It would be nice to have a face lift so to say. Maybe it would make things smoother and a bit more active in here.

Roster is happening tomorrow, as per usual. It's running as regular as clockwork, as Stero and I have agreed that taking it in turns each week is the way forward for now.

EagleRock and Phantom may not be active, but they are too important to replace. Unless they don't post for a solid year, or they resign, their roles remain.

While I am somewhat tidal with my coming and going, I have no plans to leave Newgrounds, so I'll remain in the main Recruitment Officer position.

As for Record Officers, Sterockicy is active, so he remains. NEVR is now a Record Officer too (officially, as he has been one in practice for some time). Shanus hasn't been too active lately, but not so inactive that his role will be removed.

Relations Officer; Sentio is still active, so this remains, as long as he tells me just what the position does, because I don't remember, lol. I assume maintaining relations between the EGB and Newgrounds...it might fall into a sort of "advertising the Barracks" role, as that would make sense.

Advancement Officer---Hemlock is inactive to the point that his return is less likely than it is likely, so this role is open. I am thinking of renaming this position to Newgrounds Advancement Officer or something. Instead of helping EGB'ers (who generally know what the fuck they're doing), they'd be helping any NG member in need. This role would be responsible for teaching newer Newgrounders how to help the site---for example, PM'ing clueless people who post in Wi/Ht? with offers to explain anything they have questions with. Another tactic would be cruising the new blog page every so often and offering help to "hay guyz i'm new" posters and the like...for example, telling them how to deal with betty-like commenters.

NGPD Liason---Andrea364 has not been active in the EGB for a long time, and it looks like she may not be again. Thus we need a new liason---any member can fill the position, although preferably it should be a NGPD alumni, and the member needs to be in regular contact with the NGPD.

Portal Operations Officer---In charge of monitoring Portal activity (such as spammers, rulebreakers, flash groups, etc) and reporting anything worth knowing. I am currently the Portal Operations Officer, but I may relinquish this role in the future, when a certain very-knowledgeable Guardsman joins the Barracks as a full member.

If we need anything else, let me know. Brainstorm away. There are no dumb comments.

I can't give you an exact time right now, but expect it to be between 8am and 10am Newgrounds time. (That's only an estimate, so forgive me if it's slightly earlier/later).

Ahh, thanks Slash. Originally when I offered to help Stero with the roster, I figured it would only be very short term, but I've really enjoyed helping out with the roster, and between us I think we've done a good job lately at keeping the roster flowing.

So I've accepted my fate, Joshiwa will pass me. But how long is up to me I suppose. Doubt I'll pass bifgis before then but hopefully. Should be changing badges though soon which is always good. NEVR's nearly passed Stero which is a bit of a shame, I'm sure he'll be back fighting soon though :D

Anyway, as soon as Slash drops by he'll get the recruitment process started and hopefully in 24 hours time you'll be a full member!

Well as NEVR said we promote our members to vote on how they feel, not how they think the flash will do. We also promote our members to post rule breaking flash in the EGB, the NGPD and Rages thread so that you can get the most people to see so it will be taken care of accordingly.

I can't wait for Slash to stop by so we can get this show on the road and more than likely have our new soldier join our ranks!

For those interested, Wade made a nice little post that has really caused some controversy:

After this post, I saw at least 10 spam flash get blammed...so looks like a few people are taking this to heart. Good strides going towards our cause, for sure...

And thanks to the Barracks members that also posted there!

I'll try to be on a bit later tonight, for those of you that remember me...

I was really surprised when Afro_Stud's flash got deleted (by divine intervention)

Yeah BigFuzzyKitten mentioned in Wade's thread that he was going to delete all of his Ice Cube flashes to try and get the ball moving on the fair voting/ stop mass protecting band wagon.

I just hope it continues on. You know, these things tend to happen and fizzle when everyone forgets and a new day starts. OOP...MOAR B/P TO BE HAD GUYZ! We'll see how far this goes. I know I'll be posting there for a while to try to help this stuff along...

Yeah I understand completely, I am glad I haven't been sucked into a game for a long while. Just Newgrounds obsessed.

Hopefully it will last but I am worried about when Clock Day hits... I remember last year for a few days after they were still mass voting to protect (more than usual) and the spammers were submitting crap all the time. Everyone got too excited, people may forget to vote fair again and it might ignite the spammers again.

But who knows, hopefully all of this will stay to become the norm.
