I like this idea, we should have new officers, like recruitment and roster-keeper officers. We have members that will fit very well in these positions.

Anyway, it's been a bit quiet in here lately, which is a shame. Perhaps we should start working on some projects to improve the EGB and get some more activity going in here? Well I do recall Slash having that goal for everyone to gain a Deity whistle.

Maybe we should have something like that again or maybe a quota for flash reviews a week or even a minimum voting on flash a week. Maybe instead of a end of the month review we could have reviews on the portal and/or the forums each week.

I don't know I am just throwing ideas out there.

What kind of competitions do they hold? I am kind of wary taking things from the NGDD.

I love the fact that there's already a lot of positive feedback, and obviously a lot of you guys have a lot to offer and contribute. Don't be shy to put forward an idea - it's all beneficial to the EGB, which is the whole point.

Well its pretty simple if you only flag reviews that abuse the author and not the flash, but flagging rule-breaking flash is also a good route.

A review competition could be nice, it might actually motivate me to review some, I know I could never win but I would be making some. Of course only good reviews following the guidelines may it be telling the author its good points or only telling the author what they need to od to improve.

And cr0mxt, well, cr0m's pretty well known among the spammers and other rule-breakers; he's known for fileswaps, viruses, account theft, and such rule-breaking. Someone mentioned competitions like the Department of Defense has. Maybe a competition for writing reviews? But there would need to be some kind of reward too. Other than that, and maybe some activity in other forums than C&C and Wi/Ht with the club in the sig (because C&C and Wi/Ht mostly know about the EGB, while there's likely people on General or on /v/ who might make good members that do not), I don't really have any suggestions.

And we also need more people to discuss the ideas. Not many member have been very active here lately. I was looking at the user base here on the C&C, and some users could be a great addition here. We have to invite potential recruits.

Yeah, we should "spread" our activities to the other parts of Newgrounds, like reviewing Flashes and Audio.

We could have also a monthly roster of all our stats, like in the Wi/Ht regulars list...

Reminder---do not respond to spammers. That means not even once. Not even if you can destroy their logic. They're not looking for debate, they're looking for lolcows to milk, and that's what you're being if you reply to them. Mods will be contacted over PM to deal with repeat offenders, so don't just assume that no one is taking care of it just because no one is posting in response to them.

As for the deputy recruitment officer thing...yeah, it would be wise. I'm not leaving Newgrounds, not by a long shot, but I have been in one of my lulls lately, so having another member handle recruitment requests would be good for those time periods. Hell, even when I do become active again, it's good to have a few people to take incoming requests.

My first idea is to simply make all officers capable of handling recruitment affairs, but I'll need a complete list of officers first, to see who is still active and who is not, as the current officer list on the EGB forums is fairly old. Plus we need to see which roles need filling, too. All active officers should PM me with their titles/duties so that I can make a record of them. I'll contact any officer who does not message me and see if they're still active/giving a damn.

Until then, I'll keep a closer eye on the Barracks and handle recruitment faster.

To be honest, I'm sure it would be nice for you to have some of the weight lifted from your shoulders. You do a great job with the recruiting, but everyone needs a break once in a while, and it's nice to know that when you take some time off, there's someone there to fill in for you.

Yeah, I gotta say I haven't seen most of those guys on the Officer List around here all that much lately. Perhaps it's time for a change of hats, so to speak.

Just an idea - but what if all the barracks officers had a deputy? Might be a good idea, especially seeing as we have a list of older officers who aren't doing much (if anything), and a fair few active members who'd make great officers or deputies, IMO.

Just a thought, but it might be nice. I'm sure there's a lot of people who deserve to hold a title within the barracks.
