I didn't cook anything today, but I had some mozzarella that needed eating, so I sliced it up, put it on some fresh toast, drizzled it with some extra virgin olive oil, with some cracked black pepper and italian seasoning sprinkled over the top. Delicious.

Stop making me dribble, seriously.

From my experience, homework doesn't increase too drastically from Middle School. Expectations and advancedness of what you're learning, yes, but not homework.

Well, the Flash Portal is very slow in the afternoons, I got about 5 B/P so far today.

Speaking of the portal, I've found the worst named non-spam flash ever submitted.

And as of 4 hours later, the amount of flash in the portal has increased.

Last year's Clock Day made my blood boil.

My first Clock Day in '06 was pretty fun. I stayed up the whole 24-hour run, B/P'ing fairly (although more leniently than usual), submitting my Clock Day flash (my first 'big project')...swell stuff. I even made a clock mask for the event.

But in '07, things were horrible. The average quality of the flashes being submitted was much, much lower, and many spammers were submitting dozens of flashes on alts---I believe Fleek actually submitted over a hundred flashes that day, all of which passed.

It's okay to be lenient on Clock Day, but to allow such trash to pass is inexcusable. I ended up quitting halfway through the afternoon out of disgust last year.

This year I'll be giving it the full run again, but my leniency will be greatly reduced or non-existent. Newgrounds has gotten spoiled with its 1000+ protection Clock Days, and I'll be doing everything I can to fight it. I will also be carefully recording any suspicions of alt-spamming and report every single case that's backed up by evidence.

Grrr.

3 and a half years on Newgrounds coming up... and I still haven't witnessed a single Clock Day. Of course I know what a complete disaster it is in the portal from various posts about it both here and in general, but I've never witnessed the ridiculous mass passing myself, and I'm beginning to think I never will... once again I will be away this year, making it 4 years on the bounce.

Some really good B/P pace so far this week- the evenings here in the UK are seeing some crazy action in the portal, while during the day (when I am at university and can't B/P anyway) there is hardly anything. I missed almost 14 hours of B/P time through being asleep last night and then at university today, and submissions I watched last night were still half way up the 50 most recent list!

As did mine. To get on around 3 PM to find that every flash was blue, and had a score of at least 3.75 (and that was a bad score for any flash submitted that day), made me give up and just give everything 0's.

But in '07, things were horrible. The average quality of the flashes being submitted was much, much lower, and many spammers were submitting dozens of flashes on alts---I believe Fleek actually submitted over a hundred flashes that day, all of which passed.

At 1 point, there were just scribbles of a Clock (usually that was submitted multiple times) with a file size of .1KB, and they were just getting 5's.

It's okay to be lenient on Clock Day, but to allow such trash to pass is inexcusable. I ended up quitting halfway through the afternoon out of disgust last year.

I usually am. But I couldn't take having every flash blue, so I just 0ed everything until I gave up.

This year I'll be giving it the full run again, but my leniency will be greatly reduced or non-existent. Newgrounds has gotten spoiled with its 1000+ protection Clock Days, and I'll be doing everything I can to fight it.

I doubt that with the feathers ruffled by last years, 1000 protect points will be gone. But I'm still going to be lenient, since I need those points. Plus it's Clock Day; its the one day were guys like me can unwind a little and a few protection points (as if I need them).

I will also be carefully recording any suspicions of alt-spamming and report every single case that's backed up by evidence.

That is hardcore. Understandable, but hardcore.

I would pull the 24 hours, but I'll be on vacation this year... Any other week I'd go to New Jersey without any doubts, but my uncle had to go and pick the worst possible week of the year. Especially when you factor in that the last time I went to NJ on that week in 2001, my Internet access died on me.

But in '07, things were horrible. The average quality of the flashes being submitted was much, much lower, and many spammers were submitting dozens of flashes on alts---I believe Fleek actually submitted over a hundred flashes that day, all of which passed.

Knowing Fleek, I wouldn't doubt it. That guy submitted 20 on New Year's, all of them crap, and that just to try to get the first submission of 08 (he failed, Bahamut got it).

Good, yes, the rulebreakers will go down in agony before the untold might of Supreme Commander SlashFirestorm! And if I can access the Internet that week, I will join you in taking out those who abuse and exploit Newgrounds.

Grrr.

I think it has something to do with much lower quality of incoming users in 2007. Take yoshi77777, for example. Everything he does is for (insert stat here) Count +1. Posting on the Forums, making Flash, being co-authored on a dozen knockoffs of AfroUnderscoreStud's Pokémon series, +1 +1 +1! You all know his record (because he came this way before, and ended up turned away because of it), so I won't go any farther. And there's others too, users who don't care about the site, but only about points. Other than me and a few others, almost all the active 07ers are trying to do only one thing: become the biggest statwhore on NG. Not that all statwhoring is a problem, everyone here does it a lot (including me), and some pride in anything (as long as it's not pride in something like murder) is harmless, as long as it's in moderation. However, what some newer users do, voting 5 on Fleek's movies for Save Count +1 (and similarly for the spam movies that the Kitty Krew sometimes still submits), posting poorly in the Forums for Post Count +1, and so on... It's harmful to the site, both in the technical sense (server space, bandwidth), and to the site's popular image (imagine what a normal person thinks when he sees "womens rights is a joke" without knowing who Fleek is in the first place).

I'm not guilty.

I might of accidentally voted a 2 on some of them. I click on the vote panel reallyyyyy fast.

I personally think there should be Flash Mods: Mods who see if flash are spam or not and can remove them but only if they passed the Under Judgement rank.

I also think..... darn it, i can't remember what i was going to type >:(

I just remembered, lol, that quick...

Ok, i think the edit flash button after they pass the Under Judgement rank should be removed. I see quite a bit of good flash movies which pass the UJ rank and then the author changes the title and the flash movie that was in it to something different (for example: something disturbing). The whistle should panel should still be there even after the flash submission passes, i guess an alternative to that would be to contact Wade...

Actually, seeing as how the flagged submissions haven't been cleared out since the redesign, that might be a good idea, Portal Mods. Maybe change the job of the icon mods; they don't do all that much anyways, other than check out the icons. Add to their job reviewing Flashes that people have blown the whistle on. And then add spam as a criterion for the whistle, or at least put some aspects of it as whistle criteria (perhaps as part of "unsuitable"). And allow whistle-blowing after it passes Judgment, for stolen or unsuitable Flash that pass.

Ahhhhh, Clock Day. How I don't like that day any more after last year.

I believe in leniency on Clock Day, but the level people took it to last year was an NG all-time low. Yeah, a crummy Flash with a clock yapping about garbage should pass. It's Clock Day after all. It's the spirit of the day. But then when you have blank white screens, flashing loops submitted MANY, MANY times and everything is BLUE?!?!? It's fucked up.

Days later Tom toted about how many Flash were submitted, but when you look at cereal, Milfred and Fleek who submitted masses of Flash themselves... well, then it sucked.

In fact, there were some actual good Flash that day like any other Clock Day. Unfortunately they were buried in shit and a portal that was flying fast as hell.

Maybe this Clock Day will be some of these alt spammers last day when Wade catches them all and deletes, deletes, deletes. >=)

They should rename it SPAM Day if this happens again because it's obviously how people see the day. You and still see how bad it was if you weren't here for it, folks. It was many months ago and we're STILL pissed about it.

I would love to see those spammers deleted. Some Clock Day flashes are pretty good but then the spammers submit all those flashes and you can't really find the good flashes anymore.

Exactly what I was going to say.

He's actually in league with Fleek ever since Clock Day when they both spammed the portal.

And since they each have multiple accounts can't they be deleted by Wade? And why haven't they yet?

Perhaps they've just not used their accounts for mass-voting or reviewing, as that seems to be the criteria for alt account deletion. If anybody can prove that they have, though, PM Wade about it.

But I love Hasek, you can't change it :P

LOL VANCOUVER
I failed to get that part...

Well, it was a tall order to move to a team that contends for the division title and also needs the kind of work effort that Florida did. In Vancouver he's found it, as his saves Numbers have dropped by about 300 in 75 games. The lolo part was the fact that he's still playing for a team that's near the bottom of their division, even if he is playing in the most competitive division in the West.

Anyway, back to the portal

Sorry, Civilian, but the minimum requirements for joining the Elite Guard Barracks are 2,500 B/P points (Private B/P rank).

Consider joining the NG Police Headquarters once you have gained the rank of Portal Security - several EGB members have 'graduated' from the NG Police HQ and joined us once they gained the required amount of points.

Not a good idea,
Icons Mods are Icon Mods because they are good at sorting icon and therefore most of them will not have all the skills required to make desicions on whether a portal submission is bad or stolen.
There should be totally new mods for the specific work of the portal, such as yourself Soulmaster, you know the right and wrongs of the submissions very well. I'd vote for you to find stolen submissions as a moderator.
