Hello to everyone. I am back on NG, im doing my best to start b/ping and posting again. Hopefully everyone i remember from the EGB is still around. Just thought i'd drop in and say hello.

I know I've said this before but since this is what bothers me most I'll say it again, I'm sick of those fucking spam submissions, I totally think we should all chip in some money, and have Eagle fly to NG HQ and shake up an admin. Someone needs to end this or the portal will turn from a nice peaceful forest, into a pool of garbage and human waste. Which how it's like today. Honestly, if by next Clock day nothing is done about the spam, I'll quit the portal and that will be the end of it for me, I don't need the trouble.

Yup, pretty much everyone is around from your time. Good to have you back here again, no matter how long you stay. It's always good to see old friends come back. You should check out Eagle's story, it is really getting along in terms of action and suspense.

It's been driving me nuts for ages to be honest. I consistently give out as many blams as saves, in fact a lot of days I hand out more blams, and yet for the last 9 months my saves have been gradually catching, and indeed have now passed, my save points. It's getting ridiculous frankly- there are whole series of spam submissions passing.

Unfortunately it is also an impossible situation for the admins. I'm sure the likes of Wade would love to just delete the lot of them, but the whole point of NG is to have freedom to submit whatever you want, and hope that the quality control removes the bad. If they aren't breaking rules, and most of them aren't, he can't do a thing about it without getting the whole site into uproar. The fact is people (and by that I don't mean members of the crews) just keep giving them passing votes because they are pathetic stat whores who can't bear to lose a point.

So all we can do is continue to vote fairly, and encourage as many people as possible to do the same. Probably nothing will change, but at least we know we aren't helping the spam pass, and for me that is at least satisfying. A lot of my time is spent in the obituaries these days, savouring the small victories.

You've got a long way to go before you get to 2,500 B/P points. Check out the NGDoD if you're interested in a group you can join now, and check out the NGPD when you qualify for them. From there you can graduate here. =)

I'm sorry but you currently don't have enough B/p's you need 2,500 to join in here. But if you want you can join the NGPD after getting 300 or 400 i'm not 100% sure. I suppose you have a good point too but just to be certain I PM'ed Tom and Wade with a request of my own to try and help us the innocent, and about what freedom of submission is, you are correct, they can submit anything they like, but I'm rather positive that all those crews mass voted their submissions in when they were just getting started, and that should disqualify all of their "work" from that point on. Like that Fleek crap, I'm sure no one let it pass before they just recently became another known spam group, or actually, probably just one person.

I would think Tom and Wade would be EXTREMELY interested in getting this junk off of NG. There's a lot of reasons, too.

1) No one really LIKES this shit. I mean, it isn't by any means actually entertaining.
2) Since these artists like to inflate their filesize, the amount of space their crap takes up could certainly be put to better use.
3) It lowers the standard of NG. How are they supposed to attract advertisers with shit like that?
4) You aren't going to lose many people to NG. You'll maybe lose the "artists"/spammers themselves, but they don't really have fans except for themselves so who's it really going to hurt?

I say Tom and Wade need to take some sort of stand. Make some portal rules and set a handful mods on the portal with delete powers targeting this spam directly.

They should at least forbid crews, I know they are not based on newgrounds, but when you see KK in the title you kind of guess what's going on and when The Star Syndicate is co-authored you kind of guess whats going on out there two... Yeah kinda dumb question but when you vote on flashes and then sign out will you get the B/p points still? I'm curious because tomorrow i'm gonna let my friend borrow my account and help me B/p. But don't worry i went through all the watch it and vote based on quality talk with her. Though i'm pretty sure you still get the B/p points but i just wanna make 100% sure.

Oh and for the crew things, maybe we shouldn't just forbid them as I said we should do before. But maybe we should just prevent them from doing this just to get co-authored when they are absolutely not doing anything in the flash. And they shouldn't always co-author the account of the crew....

Well even the creator does nothing. It takes them less than 10 minutes to make the flash. Finding the song and stretching out the file size takes longer than the actual work. They just need to start enforcing the rules. They just need to enorce the whole "Long intros followed by shit will be deleted" or whatever.

That's what I was thinking, only don't give it all to the mods; there's potential abuse to be found. Have a "Black List"; known spammers with their alts and IP addresses. Every time they submit something, and it passes, it gets checked by at least 3 mods and 1 Admin (so there isn't any abuse). If they find that it isn't just some picture with a song playing or whatever, it can stay.

I know there's ways around that, but it makes it almost not worth it to submit flash for them.

Also, it wouldn't even have to be forever as after only a few short weeks would people start realising that they only get to keep their pressious B/P points by blamming the crap, not letting it pass the portal.

It seems all the spammers are returning from what i've been hearing. Maybe when newgrounds starts running low on memory Wade and Tom will start deleting shit? Well that seems like a last resort but almost seems like the only logical answer at this rate. Although i don't know how much memory newgrounds has or whatever >_>. Well lets just hope that Wade or Tom gets pissed off about the spamming or what they do/say.

Wassup everyone? I know it's been a while since I've posted here, which is probably way before the site update took place. I want to announce that I am coming back to the EGB, and that I will try to take up some form of position if there needs to be one fulfilled. Also, does anyone know how the whistle system will work anymore? I can't seem to use mine when I see an inappropriate Flash in the portal, and it really tears me to see them get away with it. To any new members of the barracks, I guess hi will have to do until can get better acquainted with you. One more thing though, what is the deal with these chain-letter-esque things going around the reviews? Is it some sort of fad that ditzy teenagers post for the heck of it out of boredom? It's annoying as fuck, but I guess that I can just whistle them away should they come up.

Yup, there is a lot of Teddy's chain letters, they are getting on my nerves and it seems that after flagging a lot of these for the last 2 days I haven't been killed by an eyeless 7 years old boy.

Tom said sometime last week so any day probably. If you mean how it works it still works the same but review mods cant delete stuff yet. It's a redesign problem that hasn't been fixed yet or they just haven't updated it yet ad it wont work with the new system. Not 100% sure but it'll be up in a week probably.

Yes it's a myspace or youtube fad that they brought over here. People are just being dumbasses and posting them since shit can't be deletd yet. Give it a week and the mods will start banning and deleting that crap. It's mostly just idiots and alts don't mind it it'll be gone soon enough.

Hi all, I'm just letting you all know that Shanus is back at college now and probably cant do the update anymore, which means that unless someone is willing to take his place, I am going to have to change the update to fortnightly again. I just can't do it every week. It really isn't a very hard job. Most of it is automated in an excel spreadsheet. You just put in the total points for everyone and the rest is done by the computer. Then it is just a matter of adding the top gainers and the congratulations list manually. Today's list only took me 30 minutes. Its not as daunting as it appears! :D
