200 votes is still lower than before. 200 votes can be achieved very quickly. I see submissions that get blammed with 150 views before hand and thats in a matter of minutes.

How the hell does it go so fast RIGHT after redesign? It's not like the portal is on the Front Page now, there's just a link like there's always been.

Part of it would be that everyones VP's are higher now. Plus only needing 200 votes. I think they should change it back to what it was or even make it more than before. So the UJ's are there for a decent ammount of time so you dont have to live on NG to get 50 points a day!

That was added around March wasn't it? I think that since the redesign the portal was really fast and there were suddenly a lot of people who wanted to B/P - more than the portal could ultimately keep satisfied, hence the drop in averages over the last update.

Portal levels have returned to normal, more or less this week, with the cream of the B/Pers rising to the top once again and the assaults on the various milestones taking off once more.

Whoa, wait a sec. I think votes are actual votes. As in 200 people voted and each one has their own voting power. Otherwise Views could be lower than votes and that's not possible,

But, if for some out-of-control reason my 7.8 vote power counts as 7.8 votes, that shit needs to get fixed!

Well, that just reminded me of the fake "SS Portal Hack" from a while back that turned our barracks upside down. *sigh* That just pissed me off, not to mention made me feel bad because of what the leader of the other group I'm in and I did... That didn't kick ass...

So, I'm feeling slightly pissed and terrible today with a side of sorrow. As for my story, it won't be typed and completed as I have many, many, many more pressing matters such as site improvements and helping other users to tend to, all that and I have to balance it all in with B/P and other outside activities I need to deal with. I've got my work cut out for me don't I? I would give you a list if I could, but sadly I can't and I might just need some help with what I'll be doing for the next two weeks as it is.

So, any suggestions on what to do with my site?

I'm getting some B/P today. So far today I've got 23 and that's only the last 2 hours or so. The portal's moving pretty good right now. Good amount of UJs and a good speed.

So, I re-wrote the Barracks FAQ at our forums, as the old version was made to be temporary, as well as compatible with the old Newgrounds.

It's not complete yet, so if you can think of anything that needs to be added/modified, post it in the Suggestion forum in the appropriate thread.

Also, I'm trying to think of who the 'big players' in the Barracks are...officers (I'm not sure if we've dealt with officers in a while), well-known people...if you think you're important enough to be included in that list, PM me and I'll add you.

And it needs to be for a better reason than "I sucked your dick, Slash", because everyone's done that at one time or another...

maybe we need to drum up an official list of officers again...

Also, let's talk about officers. I have lost track myself of who exactly are our officers. I know some of you want/deserve roles, so I think it's about time we did a Barracks reshuffle (God, I sound like Donald Trump...)

I welcome you to week 1 of your 15 week...job...interview. Now, we need to remember that the Elite Guard Barracks is a ONE POINT ONE MILLION B/P IN-DUS-TRY!!!

Okay, I'm done. More seriously, here's the list of officers that we need, as well as people I think need a role here:

Chief Barracks Officer - I hope we're not planning to change that...
Lieutenant Chief Barracks Officer - It's Phantom. Not changin'.
Relations Officer - Still Sentio, and he's still doing a bang-up job.
Recruitment Officer - We don't technically have one, as PenguinLink is inactive.
Records Officer - I don't know who currently is holding this (my records got lost with our old forums), but we all know who should fit this role.
NGPD Laison - We do need one. Granted, Slash is taking over that role, but should he do EVERYTHING around here?
Advancement Officer - Currently Hemlok. This position can stay as it is, as it was traditionally more of a support role (made for XwaynecoltX), and him being inactive isn't the biggest of problems.

We do have other positions which I have since suspended, including the Portal Operations Officer, Reconnaissance Operations Officers, Portal Violations Officer, etc. These positions were needed when we were much more hated, but are since not necessary.

I'd like nominations from the Barracks as to who should fill which roles (and don't nominate yourself, geniuses...:-). Also, I'm sad to say that our old forums seems to be down for good. We need to settle into the forums that Slash set up. I may fix it up a bit and secure the forums a bit more, as I've had a lot of experience running forums for quite a few years. The ranks tend to disturb me a bit, but it seems like a huge hit with the members, so I'm not sure what to do there, lol.

Incidentally, Slash is doing a good job maintaining the FAQ and performing Forum Admin duties, so I may need to think up a new officer that fits that. Technically the FAQ is the job of the Relations Officer, but I'll have to think about that one.

Comments are always appreciated, as they help a lot.
