I'm not keeping up with it too closely, mainly because your team went and pipped the Av's to the playoffs >:(. Yeah, Calgary will not be a team that I will be supporting in this post season. Having said that I really don't know who I do want to win it- all I want is a lot of exciting games!
>> Actually The Colorado Avalamche did give an exciting, last push. That's what I mean by underdog teams, like they wern't going to give up without a fight. and beat Calgary, that one game (that Calgary was trying to Clinche and put them away). But the Avalanches really fought hard. That was a very very good defeat for us. That's what I like about hockey, mortals struggling with broken bodies (ie Teeth, bloody noses, knocked out, snapped ankles, Or if you're the Goalie a pile of people if like 5 people get stuck in a net). That's what I like, that all hockey players get so banged up like crash derbies. And then they find the strenght to break away, and score. Like Inglina's forhead used to be SMOOTH, now there's a thick line on his forehead.
I wonder what Sidney Crosby would look like in 5 years??? Like Messier used to look young then he resembles Bruce Willis on 16 BLOCKS (OUCH!).
Anyways. I was very very impressed with Colorado's not giving up drive. I wish they only did that when they were the Winnipeg Jets. because I'm orginally from Winnerpeg. O'm in the nefacious works to scheme a return for Winnipeg Jets. Now if Calgary Flames Vs the Canucks that would be a very very intresting match (if Calgary makes it that far). They seem to be having their game faces on. Like the first two games NO EFFORT and it shows! like they worked that hard to get to the playoffs. Then they lose that intensity.
Like you said. I like it only when there is lots of intesity, lots of heart attack inducing plays. saves, and painful sacrifices. (example defensemen diving for the puck, like they were Body guards. saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOO). That hurts because like the puck goes at 80-100km a hour (well pretty slower, but it's frozen rubber. and it goes into the unprotected stomach. owwww! Yet the player still gets up and plays. That's amazing.
