That's one of the reason I continue to B/P at a rapid pace... There's not a lot of users from PR so I do what I can to represent... Although you're doing a good job too.

As for donating mney... I get the feeling that won't happen, but I'll agree with you... Stupid sales-tax coming and ruining everything.. One of these days I'm going to do something to change things in Puerto Rico

Anyway, here goes. I had a Yuengling in me and decided to crack open of my few remaining Oktoberfest reserves for the occasion:

As those of you know actually know who I am know, I've been very busy over the past few months. In this small amount of time, I've gotten my own apartment, received my master's degree, started my career, dealt with my parents divorce, and married the love of my life. If there's one thing that I've learned over these past few months, it's that life is NEVER how you expect it. If there's one thing that keeps you on track, though, it's keeping true to yourself.

When I started the Barracks, I had visions of a bunch of BBSers enjoying the fun rank names of the B/P ranking system. While it was fun and lasted for a bit, the Barracks grew not only into a camraderie, but a group of people devoted to protecting the Portal...not necessarily just for points, but for making Newgrounds the best place it can be for aspiring Flash artists. And, sure enough, one year after the Barracks was started, we're still here.

Through our being here, we've attracted much adversity, even with moderators. We've been accused of being a blam club, mass-voting, and trying to generally pervert the voters of Newgrounds. We've had problems between members, and even flashes devoted to degrading us. Hmm...we're still here.

Why? What is it about the Barracks that has made it stick? Was it that I made the greatest idea for a club? As nice as it sounds, I had no damn clue the Barracks would become what it is when I started it. Is it due to my amazing leadership? While I'd like to think so (trust me), I haven't even posted regularly for months. Is it coincidence? I'd daresay no. More threads lie locked or dormant for months in the recesses of the C&C forum than can be counted. There's only one thing that has made the Barracks what it is: every single one of you. This includes Phantom, a great friend who has run the Barracks over the past few months down to the newest member. It's everyone that is part of this group, believes in what we're here for, does their best on the Portal, and keeps this thread alive. Even the greatest leaders in our world history have claimed that if it was not for those that followed them, they would have been but nothing. While I'm not claiming myself to be a great leader at all, it just shows how great this thread has become because of its members.

Sure, it sounds like I'm just being really sentimental, but it's true. The Barracks is very important to me, as it was something that was an idea of mine that I had which turned into something which I consider great. It never would have become a group so good, either, if it wasn't for everyone contributing and adding their little bit to it. For that I thank everyone that has been a part of this group, no matter how long it's been. While some people, like Major-punk have been here since page 1, that doesn't mean that everone here isn't important.

All in all, I never could have thought I would be writing this a year ago, as I basically had my head in how cool the Elite Guard was and how much B/P I could get that day. Then again, I was still a kid going to grad school living with my parents. Now, on my own, finally an adult that's fully responsible for myself, I realize that this club turned out to be something great. However, I also know it wasn't me that made it great. Thanks to all Barracks Members for being here, and let me congratulate us on being on Newgrounds for a full year! If the Barracks has members like all of you to count on, I'm sure it'll still be here many years to come.

And now, time for a drink and some nostalgic sayings!

Hi everyone, its been a while since ive posted here.

Is anybody finding it hard to get there BLAM points up lately? I mean I still consider myself to be dark and usually have my Blam points way above my saves but recently I have struggled to find anything that will definately get blammed. Now I am trying to get my blams and saves up to 1250 each exactly but am struggling with the blams.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Nope. Flash movies can be blammed at 50 votes at a certain low score, and you are probably too slow, so really bad stuff are blammed very fast.

God...I'm soo bored. I have today and tomorrow off of school because there's a teachers convention, and all my friends have school. I'm basically alone in my house. Well, I'll get back to BPing, I need to make up for the last 4 days which have been crap for me since I had to study for a lot of tests.

I just tab them all and do them all at once quickly enough, the only time I do miss a few is when I get totally distracted.

Yea, I saw some small sized entries getting blammed in 3 minutes. You really need to hurry up if you want some blam points as it is getting harder to get them. Sometimes, the portal system shows the "verge of death" markers on those entries that are about be blammed. When I see the red markers, I will jump on those entries as fast as I can and vote 0 as long as the voting bar appears. Maybe you would say that I should have watched the entire entry before voting. But as the red markers suggest, those entries are about to be blammed. Even if I vote 5 on them, it is very unlikely that they will be protected, so normally I vote automatic 0 on those red marker entries. I know that it looks unfair, but hell, I need those blam points. In addition, if I see an entry of less than 100 kb coming out, I will evaluate them first before checking the big file size entries. Some small size entries are really good, but there is a good chance that they are craps. In that case, I blam them as long as soon as possible so that I will not miss those easy blam points. Hopefully, you will learn something from my post as those methods have helped to be very effective when blamming entries.

You will get him by the end of the day. :) When I was a level 11 user, I used to compete against Coop83 and we were neck by neck for at least six months before I finally found a way to pull away, (Maybe he lost his spark, I do not know how I pulled him away.) It is good to have some b/p rivals because they encourage you to spped up for the race. If you read through my previous posts a few pages ago, you should know that I am competing against Claudia, Haro and Now-n-Again as we are awfully close to each other on the rankings. Anyway, I hope that you have fun competing against him and your new targets. ;)

Already passed him. Hard to believe you and Coop used to be dueking it out when I am not too far off from him myself. I guess he did lose his touch. Yes, I have noticed your feud with Claudia, Haro, and Now-n-Again. I don't know too must about that Now-n-Again guy and Haro but I would keep my eye on Claudia. It seems she has slown down but she used to be a speed demon. I hope she doesn't step up her game anytime soon and I wish you the best of luck.
