Well, I have gone ahead and appointed a new position because noone was bothering to respond to me. As of now, Private First Class -Mitsubishi- is the Barracks Intelligence Operations Officer in charge of discovering intelligence on Portal threats. He has generated many reports lately and is worthy of the position in my opinion. I was attempting to get feedback from the other Barracks members, but noone chose to respond. However, noone ever seemed to have a problem with the PFC's appointment, and he has shown himself worth of the position lately, so the appointment has been made.

In regards to other appointments, I would like to hear the opinions of Barracks members! I've asked this many times lately and have not been getting any responses. I was rebuked by many the last time I suggested appointments, and do not want a repeat of that. However, I can't judge on how the Barracks members feel about the potential appointments if I do not get any feedback!

Yea, EGMG TITROTU has not been seen in the Barracks for a while. But he submitted a Mario moive yesterday and I also saw him around in the General forum. I feel sorry that he decides to leave us. (it seems to be) But I respect his decision. So what we need now is to have a selction as soon as possible. I can give you a long list of people who can replace his position. Please take serious consideration on Slash, and Bahamut7 for the position. They have proven to be capable enough for the position. By the way, the Stars (fourstar and penisstar) made a moive called "poopie phantom 2" which had extremly bad qualities and it does not deserve to be saved. I voted 0 already. While they have proven themselves capable, what have they done specifically in regards to Portal Operations? From now on, before anyone is given a position, they must prove their competence and ability to perform in the position they are being petitioned for.

This is against the Barracks posting rules. You never tell another Elite Guard how to vote. We are all capable of determining if flash is under judgement and we are even more capable of determining how to vote. I ask you to review the rules and specifically note rule number 7.

I would also ask posters here to stop posting one-line posts in rapid-fire succession. It detracts for the atmosphere and makes us look bad. Therefore, a little more thoughtfulness in posts will make the Barracks look much better and not cause rampant posting. It is not only bad looking, but makes it hard for people to catch up on the latest in the Barracks. Thank you.

I learned this the hard way. When I was a wee little bbs noob, I posted in spam topic, telling them not to spam. of course, this only "Fueled on the flames", as wade said. A while ago, in a forum of a certain online game, which i am not allowed to say, I made a whole thread about not "fueling the flame" by flaming spam threads. At the time I thought it sounded very sophisticated, but it of course attracted flame it self. the most common post was " This is spam itself!" Oh well.

About me having an official position...I think I'm still really too new here to have that much responsibility. I mean, I know I do a few odd jobs, like a list of BB pre-fileswap flashes and part-time screenshots right now, but that's just to supplement the intel officers who already do a lot of work, such as -Mitsubishi-. While I may be interested in a position in the future, for the time being, I'm happy being a plucky Staff Sergeant who does some part-time jobs along with his portal duty, lol. Thanks for the endorsement though, Captain Dream_of_Duke. :salute:

You may not have an official position, slash, but Im sure many people hold you in high esteem. Your posts are generally very helpful and constructive, and you are even mentioned in the egb rules. Having an official title isn't everything. I have seen at least two 4.00+ movies go through the portal today, it seems that maybe the quality in flash is going up. Looking through old records of rewards (yeah I know its a geeky thing to do, but I like to anyway) I see a bunch of old weekly users choice awards given to movies with scores like 3.500, or around there. It seems that the general quality of flash has gone up over time, and I hope it keeps doing so.
