you need to be at least at 1500 B/P before you can join

So what do you guys think of adding new b/p levels? And how far to go?

I think it would be nice to have 100 levels actually.

With 300,000 being level 100.

It would give us a lot of time to reach the final rank. And it wouldn't have 73 people clogged at the final rank.

Hey, Guys, just reporting in. I won't be able to b/p much today. We are going to the Mall of America today, and tommarrow we have a 7 hour drive back home. So I may not be able to get b/p much tommarrow either. However, Tuesday, I will have some time after school.

Congrats to all of the rank-ups today. Well, might As well use the time I have left to go b/p.

Snap. 300000 might be a tad excessive. I've always thought that the maximum level being 100k B/P would be adequate, finishing with a VP boost of 100%.

However, since B/P levels aren't on a sliding scale like normal levels (thank Fulp for that...), I guess it could go as high as the sky. But will they add more B/P? I doubt it...but if anyone sees ANY official news about more B/P levels, let me know...

Checking in again. What's new? I got a bronze whistle! Yes, I know...big deal, but keep in mind that I've been on NG for nearly two years and have been at Red for all that time. At this point, I was secretly relieved that it hadn't degenerated into a broken whistle. I don't whistle much...understatement of the year, perhaps...but after several whistles for obvious problem submissions, it had begin to feel like there'd never be a change, which kind of killed the desire to keep going. I figured, better stop before you get a broken whistle!
I also reached Praporshchik. YAY.
Which brings me to the last thing I'd like o weigh in on, namely the possibility of new b/p badges/ranks. That would be awesome as long as the b/p system never goes on a sliding scale. For the love of God, country, apple pie, what have you, please never put it on a sliding scale. It's bad enough to take up to six months or more with daily deposits to move up one rank in experience. At least with b/p you see more obvious results for watching a lot of UJ submissions. On the other hand, it would be nice to see the uppermost levels not be easily reached by the hotshots in under a year...sorry hotshots, but even you must like an occasional 'real' challenge. The upper levels would ideally be difficult but not impossible to reach.

Yeah, I just saw the topic. I should have known it was a glitch because I don't flag nearly enough to have a gold whistle. I did see Wade mention that most of us will end up with a higher whistle once the glitch is fixed, meaning there'll be more gold and deity whistles.

I cannot express my happiness.

I guess that is a good incentive for me to actually start whistling some reviews then. Up until now I had just enough to have silver, but with barely enough time to B/P let alone whistle had made no effort to try and get gold. As a result I'm back down to bronze now, which rather sucks. Good to see a change in the system though- it certainly was messed up before.

In other news I should have a connection at home come Thursday (when it gets activated) so expect to see me around much more in the future. That should really help me get back on track with my B/P as well- I'm sick of getting 20-30 a day, with nothing at weekends.

And finally, I have managed to achieve one of my longest ambitions on NG- a 2:1 ratio of blams to protects. That may not seem like much, but as much of my early time here was spent on a slow connection and therefore only voting on submissions with low file sizes it has been quite an effort to balance it out. In all honesty I can't believe it has happened so quickly- I guess I'm becoming more generous in my old age!

I read that upgrade thread and when I did I lost almost all mybragging rights. But when I read about how the big the glitch was I was shocked. I mean 10 for silver but you would need 13000+ for gold? and My heavy duty flagging wasn't helping that either. I want to say congrats to everyone who now has gold/Deity whistles now. I but a lot of people are going to be laughing at me in PM because I am not alone in the deity bracket, but I still can brag because I was able to get to the top on the old system plus I Still have the most whistle points as well. Now I hope this change makes people want to flag more.
