No whistle glitch!

Actually it turns out the old whistle scale had a glitch. It was giving silver whistles when a user had 10 positive whistle points! Meaning, you mark 10 reviews as abusive and you suddenly have a silver whistle. However, to get gold you would need like 13,000+ whistle points. This was obviously screwed up.

We now have a fixed scale, meaning once a user gets enough positive points they will advance to a better whistle. They won't lose that level unless they get negative whistle points from flagging non-abusive reviews, etc.

So some of you that had silver whistles didn't really deserve them yet. Now you have to keep working to get them back. We are going to adjust the new scale a bit to make bronze and silver a little easier to get. We will now have more people with gold and diety whistles though.

It may go Bronze once some adjustments are made, but if it isn't bronze it means you don't even have 50 positives points, so you really shouldn't complain. Some people have over 20,000 points.

We're discussing if we want to release the scale, but know this. The new scale is more fair, and rewards the users that are actually working hard and flagging things as abusive. The users who have a lot of points have now been rewarded. Think about it, someone with 13,000 positive points would have been silver under the old system, and so would someone with 12. How is that fucking fair?! Now that person with 13,000 is Diety, and the person with 12 is normal, as they should be. :)

I'll say this, it doesn't take that many points to get to Bronze, Silver, and Gold, if you're really working at it. So those who are normal don't have very many points at all.

Are you kidding? Reaching bronze is nothing compared to how many reviews you gotta flag to get gold. Just go to the abusive review thread to find abusive reviews to flag, that's how I got to silver.

It shouldn't have been silver in the first place, that's the problem. If you have a normal whistle it means you don't have many points and haven't done enough to earn a high whistle.
