However, the site should be more than a records page, as it should contain our rules, roster, DEFCON guide, etc, similar to the NGPD page. I'll let you work on it as you wish for now, but I would like to have the opportunity to work on it myself after a while. I do work as a web designer and feel that I could add a lot to the page.

The DEFCON is fine as it is. DEFCON 4 is indicative of very slow Portal times, such as around 0100 hours to 0500 hours. In that time, only a few entrants come and go per hour. There is still a decent churn rate on the Portal, as well as a decent level of UJ flash.

Another BB fileswap has occured, this time a submission called "Bug Splat" that several reviewers whistled for being stolen (I did not notice the reviews until after it was fileswapped, however). :adds this to the list of flashes I've seen being switched with BB:
Also a BB flash was recently blammed and one SEEMINGLY innocent one is on the portal currently, so everyone stay alert. The portal is having a relativly high rate of abuse.
Good hunting of these types of submissions as well as of the basic crap! :salutes:

Forgive the double post, but I want to add that the fileswapped BB flash is, as the recent other ones have been, HIGHLY MALICIOUS. This one attempts to print itself repeatedly (thankfully I don't have a printer hooked to my computer) and closing the print window only opens another one (and you are unable to close the flash). I had to use the task manager to close IE. I'm going to e-mail Wade...:grumble:

As a matter of fact, it has just been updated and includes current Barracks rules, the Current meber list and a page explaining the DEFCON system. Anyway other suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry for my double-post, sir! However, I have gathered some intel on the Barney Bunch. This report will be short, as I have only started gathering intelligence since 8:00pm. However, this is some pretty big info:

On my rounds this evening, I came across a post made by one of the current leaders of the now-crippled Barney Bunch. The post stated as follows, and I qoute:

"Me and the other Barneys came up with the idea of submitting DailyDrews, which are like BB Dailytoons in a way. When we reach 100, we will make Drew Day. Instead of using the date in the title will include the number in it (i.e. DailyDrews #20).

Now, we can't just start making these and expect a ton of submissions. I say we make DDs ahead of time and once we get a big enough number, we submit them in organized DailyDrews. People who are not BB members have the option to submit their flashes too. I'm aiming for a time around February or March. If the admins want to add more information to this they can do so."

It appears that they plan for an all out attack on the Portal. Unfortunately, current intel is quite vague. I will certaintly be looking into this further, however.

I ask that Eagle Rock not lower the DEFCON level below 4 until further intel is gained.

You don't have to, Private First Class. If you would feel more comfortable serving the Portal with the website, you can do that instead. Like I said, your actions are what determine your officer position.

I would hope that you understand, just as Captain Dream_of_Duke and Major General Bahamut7 did, that actions determine worthiness of an officer position, not just a request. It appears to me that you would be more fit as a Lieutenant Barracks Records Officer at this point. I ask you to not get tied up in worrying about the officer position, but rather worry about how you can contribute to the Portal best. I would rather you keep working on the website for now. If you really don't want to do it, I could take over. Please think it over.

I wouldn't do much, PFC. However, I am highly skilled in HTML and would be able to tweak the website if necessary.

Those bastards..It's like another CC day, or a Piconjo day. It doesn't matter. Just like CC, I'll be prepared.

I understand that, sir! However, BB activity has gone up over the past little while. They went fro submitting nothing (or a few flashes here and there) to their old file-swapping ways. Call me paranoid, sir, however I fear that the BB may be rebounding. They are becoming harder to trace as welk. Perhaps I was hasty in requesting a mandatory DEFCON 4 minimum. However, the BB are becoming more (dare I say) intelligent and more cunning. I just don't want to get caught off gaurd, thats all.

Emailing Wade is a decent method, EagleRock. But it is very easy to understand that Wade will get so many emails everyday that he can hardly reply to all. As a result, it may take him a while to reply. In addition, I am not sure if we will get a positive reply from him or not. While we are waiting for his reply, there can be many more BB fileswaps floating in. I signed in 5 minutes ago and I saw a BB fileswap passed the judgement already. As I said in my previous post, we have the duty to defend the portal. That's why the club was founded for. EagleRock, I understand that we could be wrong and losing the whistle points if we misjudge. I also understand your concern of losing whistle points. However, as the Elite Guards, the duty of defending our portal should be much more important than the concern of losing points. I personally won't regret even if my whistle goes back to normal level because of this. In addition, I trust the Elite Guard's superior ability to recognize BB fileswaps. So unless there are some better ways to deal with the BB fileswaps, I will insist on my suggestion.

I have seen the file before he swap but didn't bother to after because that’s stupid of me. I'll have to e-mail Wade once more. Thanks for all the warnings.

90% of the flashes the BB submits legitimatly is blammed because, simply, it's crap. It's the 10% that is submitted as a different, innocent flash that is swapped with malicious flash post-judgement that causes the most trouble.
