Not bad. However, I don't really see a personal forum necessary. I, shOuld I get the officer job I hope for, may create a small website to host the info I gather for quick and easy access, however I think the thread my well be enough.

However, I do see an advantage to the forum. Perhaps it can be used to host meetings that we would not want just anyone to read about. All you would have to do is post "Meeting @ The Forum @ 7:00" then, we can conference without privacy fears.

Im glad this situaition was solved so quickly with me watching from the sidelines. Believe me I wanted to post, but what I wanted to say wouldn't be constructive.

I am now even more proud than before to be a member of the Elite Guard Barracks now that I have seen such patience, and a side I havent seen before from its members.

But I promise you guys that you will be able to see a new DoD from now on.

Somehow I feel a forum is a bit redundant, considering we are posting in a forum right now. However, if you wish, you could draft one up for review. I would say it would be more imperative to have a basic website like the NGPD HQ's before a forum is made.

a website with forums is maybe not a bare necessity but it can come in handy: it's easier to settle arguments for one,, it allows more topics and offers a possibility on more contact between the members thus forming a real group.

so that gives three webpages and those pages are easy and fast to make. there's allready a rough MoC today. and a faq could just be made up along the way.

My appologize, sir! As an Infiltration Officer, I would be in charge of gathering information from various places (be it on the Newgrounds BBS, or other forums) and devivoring regular reports to fellow EG members. Such infiltration targets may include the Barney Bunch, or other such froups known for spam. As well, I will also be in charge of Data Management. This means that any info posted on this thread will be recorded by me for any future reference.

This is very similar to a job position I listed a while ago, which is as follows:

Barracks Intelligence Operations Officer - Reports to Barracks Portal Operations Officer
(Portal Ops - Major General TITROTU)

This officer would be in charge of finding information on potential Portal activity. Scouring websites and forums would be the main duty of this officer, attempting to find any potential threats. In essence, Portal Ops is the head Intel Ops officer, but there can be others assisting in his duties.

If you are interested, I am willing to petition you for it.

Before I do, though, I want suggestions from my fellow officers. Do you feel he is qualified? Comments, anyone?

I browsed it very quickly...it looks like a simple phpBB forum, which is easy enough to work with. I've created phpBB forums before, and know how to admin them very well.

That sounds good. I think a simple webpage would be good that I could post rules of conduct and whatnot. Praporshchik Major_punk's list could also be added there, similar to now the NGPD HQ is. In fact, a freewebs account might not be a bad idea. The web design is simple, but I wouldn't want to whip out Dreamweaver and draft a whole website anyway.

i think you gave the wrong link. but you may not know, we don't post links to uj entries anymore. but i did catch the flash you are talking about,and it does seem quite odd. normally flashes are b/ped at around 300-400 views. oh well, just vote fairly when doing so and let it take it's path.

Before I forget, soldiers, let me state the new DEFCON system of the Portal...

I felt this necessary, and I think that it well help us protect our Portal better!

Here is a quick rundown of the system:

DEFCON 5 - Peacetime - No outstanding Portal activities (don't expect this too much)
DEFCON 4 - Peacetime with increased intel ops & security - Low chance of Portal activity
DEFCON 3 - Increased Elite Guard Readiness - Minimal Portal activity expected
DEFCON 2 - Further Increased Elite Guard Readiness - Strong Portal activity expected
DEFCON 1 - Maximum Elite Guard Readiness - Extreme Portal activity imminent

We were at DEFCON 1 with the onslaught of Legendary Frog spoofs and Star Syndicate submits. However, after the diedown, we are current lowered to DEFCON 3. Expect further Portal activity until after midnight.

DEFCON Update:

In an effort to combat laziness, I shall update the DEFCON as necessary. Sorry for not updating it for a while. Since the Portal has slowed to its usual nighttime level, I have decreased the DEFCON from DEFCON 3 to DEFCON 4. No known threats are around, but still keep aware until morning.

As Praporshchik Major_punk has showed you, that is the system. You can find a more in-depth description also on page 10, around the middle of the page. Each DEFCON has about a paragraph description if you feel the need to read up on it.

On a side note, I really miss saying "Sergeant Major Major_punk." It seemed very fitting to me. :-)

I had that there for a while now its 281 now because they just submitted two more. one was a resubmission it was from one of there collaboration that got blammed.

I heard that the_fallen_one as been appointed. As his good e-friend back at NG Police HQ, I am pround of his appointment and I feel happy for him. :) By the way, I posted a long post introducing some of my b/p technics (methods) at NG police HQ a while ago, and I also need to thank my boyfriend Dream_of_Duke who shared some of his special methods with me when I was on the process of making that thread. The purpose why I posted it is because I want the the members of NG Police HQ to be more effective when they defend the portal since I am also a member there. Although it is a long post, I personally feel that there can be more technics which can help people b/ping effectively. If anybody is interested in my "dumb" methods, you are welcome to view it at NG Police HQ. If you have some other methods that I did not metion in that post, you are also welcome to tell us your ways so that all of us can be benefited. :)

I'm happy to report that the protal seems to ahve returned to a state of pseudo-normalness, with 13 UJ entries when I logged in this morning.

Unfortunately, so has the traffic, so It took me about 10 minutes longer to get into work :(

Slow day so far. 6 passed judgment, 9 UJ and 21 blammed. Not too quick for 7.5 hours... but it should pick up the pace soon enough...

I'm working on the same sort of legend after nearly 5 hours, but it's moving quick enough for me.
