DEFCON Update:

At DEFCON 3, I'm just leaving well enough alone.

At 1/4/06 01:55 AM, Major_punk wrote: But they were all responded to just fine. Im still against that position its just not necessary.

Still, sir...it would be nice to give someone else a position here that wants it and deserves it, and it take the pressure off of us to respond (when they're in the Barracks). Sure, maybe it's not the most vital position one could come up with, but then, with that logic, none of our positions are really that necessary!

I wouldn't worry so much. Like I said, we could just appoint someone to be in charge of responding to those people. I, as I do with any job, will pick up the slack when necessary.
NO0O!!@!!!1111!!!1111

Well...almost any job. Noone has the capability (nor the stat whoriness... :-) to do your position, sir!

Its more of an etiquette thing, I suppose. Welcome to the barrracks ill be updating the membership list sometime this week so you can see where you stand. The last update was on page 30 if you want to check it out.

Great to hear, sir! I can't wait to see the new list!

And yes, PFC KungFuCow, it is just a matter of courtesy. We of the Elite Guard are indeed an honorable group!

It surprised me as well, sir. I automatically assumed that the soldiers here were at least around the 15-16 year mark, but that post was quite surprising! It is a clear sign of maturity!

Meh they might make more levels one day so I wouldnt call them useless.

More whistle levels would be very good for the site...

Imagine if they made more B/P levels! What on Earth would go above Supreme Commander? I'm thinking Super Ultra Mega Mega Happy Supreme Commander...sounds very professional, right?

Btw I got my 3000th save today, nothing really special but I liked it, only 10% of what Toocool100 has though :/

It's still an accomplishment, sir! Congratulations!

One more reason to love going for an M.B.A. - It's such common sense, I just go on my laptop through the entire class. It was extremely severe for one of my classes this semeseter, Operations Managment. I literally came to class, didn't take notes, didn't pay attention at all. On the day of the midterm, I opened the book, ran through all the problems, went to the test, left an hour early, and got a perfect score. I repeated the same for the final. And yes, I got an A. :-) Ahh, many a B/P thanks to that course!

True. However, as Sergeant Grizzley said, as you become more skilled in B/Ping, your efficiency goes up, as you judge correctly more often. Also, if you can be on during peak times, it is easy to gain 100 B/P a day, which is my current self-set daily quota. With steady advancement like this, I will see Supreme Commander by August 14th!

Don't worry, once you claw your way up to the rank of Police Captain, you will have gained a lot of skill and will see how you can tweak your daily habits to get much more B/P. I don't even go on Newgrounds exclusively anymore unless I'm BBS posting. I just do what I want to do and fill in the cracks with quick Portal checks. It works quite well!

Consider yourself lucky Sergeant. I've been to school for the past 2 days. 6 hours yesterday and 5 today. but TITROU completely forgot about me in all lists.. I know there was a decrease but not enough to keep me off the list entirely... I mostly mean the list of people who don't know the light of day and have high B/P average.

The ritual when usually a defeated Samurai would jab his sword through his body. A process that requires long mental and physical training to ignore your body's pain and instincts. While their sword is sharp it takes more then the first swing to kill them so they push it themselves which is amazing considering they work all their muscles just to kill them. Fascinating really... but back on topic, has any one played Wade defender ? Surprisingly a fun and enjoyable game, got bored after level 60.

I'm exactly the same, sir. I procrastinate when I have time, but when I have a deadline coming up I go into Super Magic Do It mode and get it done overnight!

Speaking in laptops terms I'm dirt broke. I have some money, just not nearly enough to have a computer that doesn't need a room full of cables to work...

It's a little old now, but my laptop is still great. It was a present from my parents when I finished my undergraduate degree, and they told me I could spend as much as I wanted on it (they were planning on paying my tuition, but I got a full ride, so they became very generous...). It is a valuable tool for me in all aspects of things I do, and I enjoy it very much. However, you can get laptops relatively cheap these days. I've seen Dell Laptops as cheap as about $500 with coupons from Ben's Bargains. Just type in "Dell" under the search on the right side of the page. You'll see all of the current Dell coupons that'll save you hundreds on a laptop!

I have a book report due soon... Have you ever seen a lullaby song in a soft cover? I know I have... 232 pages within less then a week... One of my teachers was like that this semester. He bumped up all of our deadlines about a month because he was upset that noone was turning it in (what did he expect?). Oh well. At least I got an A- in that class...

That is nothing but impressive, sir. Indeed, I was never part of the system, but it is obvious that blamming was an art form back then. I'm amazed, sir!

Don't worry, you are welcome here. As I've said to many others in the past, anyone with a vested interest in protecting our Portal is allowed to be here. You are indeed an excellent candidate for an Elite Guard recruit. You certainly have the drive and interest in the Portal necessary to make it. I've noticed, though, that you do have a bit of way to go before you get to Police Captain. It's no big deal though. I suggest you take that time to train yourself in B/Ping and you will find yourself in the Elite Guard in no time!

Of course, when I mentioned that it was simply suicide, I was grossly generalizing. However, I didn't know that it was that excruciatingly hard to do it like that...thanks for the info, Staff Sergeant!

I remember that day very well, and am not one to go back on my word, sir. I accept it as well. I have observed him posting in the NGPD Headquarters, and believe he would act well as a laison. Henceforth, Private the_fallen_one1 is the Barracks Mafia Laison. Congratulations, Private!

Your duties as Barracks Mafia Laison would be simple: You must visit both places constantly and keep tabs on anything that might affect the other. As you are a member of both locations, this should be rather easy. Also, if any official messages from the Barracks need to be given, you are authorized to present them. You also report to the Barracks Relations Officer, Second Lieutenant (not Staff Sergeant...:-) Ghost_Phantom for additional mafia relations needs.

Got it?

Also, just to give a gauge, let me update the Barracks positions so far (in order of assignment):

Chief Barracks Officer - Master Sergeant EagleRock
Barracks Records Officer - Sergeant Major major_punk
Barracks Portal Operations Officer - Major General TITROTU
Barracks Advancement Officer - General XwaynecoltX
Barracks Relations Officer - Praporshchik Ghost_Phantom
Barracks Portal Violations Officer - Supreme Commander nimmer
Barracks Mafia Laison - Private the_fallen_one1

I certainly hope I didn't miss anyone. I was checking quickly.

Another thing to check out is the Posting Rules I implemented back on page 38. My post is around the middle of the page. Please review that as well.

I think that's about it...you should be ready for the Barracks, Private!

... And BTW: Welcome to the barracks where odds are every one is in a higher position than you…

That really should be our slogan:

EGC Dream_of_Duke reports for duty, sir! (weekly report) According to the last update of b/p 51+, I had an average of 74.3 points per day and ranked up by 10 spots. I was quite satisfied with the pace since I spent 3 hours per night watching College Football. School starts next Monday so I will have to sink myself in the book sea again. As a result, my b/p pace will probably drop to 30-40 per day. But hopefully, I will be able to hang around at rankings when school starts.
