well everyone is out of school now so the portal will b loaded for the summer it was the same last summer as well. but who is complaining because with the extra stuff in the portal abuse will come through as well. have fun in to portal everyone and good night

One of the best flashes I've ever seen (I forget the name now) showed us how not to vote wrong on a flash. All you do is you watch it and vote a number you think appropriate for the flash itself

Yeah, it's nice. I'll probably start blamming and protecting again. It's much easier to get b/p points when the portal is active. Most of the movies I've been blamming in the past weeks have been 1kb spammy movies when I got bored. Although I might be getting a summer job, I'll probably be around more often.

I doubt I'll get as many points as when I first joined the EGB though :/

After much pondering over the course of my five day hiatus from these boards, I have decided to make ammends with the Elite Guards and those affiliated with them. I would like to apologize profusely for the actions of myself and my acquaintances in the systematic infiltration and bombardment of this fine establishment. Our actions were entirely uncalled for and unnecesary; our inflammatory comments were utterly profane and coarse and they had absolutely no comedic value whatsoever.
In particular, the posts that parody and lambast the daily, sacred custom of posting the number of blams/saves an Elite Guard has achieved were some of the most vulgar, and I deeply regret any frustration these wretched spoofs have brought upon the fine upstanding Newgrounds citizens of this crew. I also deeply regret any deep discomfort that has been caused by the users who so disgustingly attempted to join this crew without any credentials. This is truly an outrage.
I deeply regret what has transpired here and I pray it will not occur any time in the future. It was excruciating for both parties, trust me. The bans that were so rightfully dealt out were borderlineunbearable, and I must admit that I myself shed a tear or two at losing the ability to post on these marvelous forums for almost an entire week. Its safe to say that when I saw the ban, it really DID hit me like a ton of bricks. However, I simply cannot say I didn't deserve my punishment. When immaturity and crassness run rampant and out of control, one needs to pay the price for their own idiocy. Once again, my deepest and sincerest apologies.

In closing, I offer a conciliatory *salute* to all of those affected by these rude and malicious acts, and I hope future relationships between our parties will not be strained by this unfortunate incident.

Wow, I haven't had time to post here for AGES! Apologies for my continued absence, but as I am now back home for the holidays my computer access is severely limited (courtesy of my computer hogging sister) and as the computer is so slow it is hard to vote on anything over 1000kb without waiting ages for it to load. As such my pace has dropped to around 10 per day, compared to the 50 or 60 I was achieving before. Hopefully these problems will be solved come August when I move across the pond to the US of A and get full use of my laptop back, hopefully with a fast connection.

As for what I've missed, welcome to all of the new members, I see there are many since I last showed my face. Also congrats to all of the senior members nearing EGSC, the long road is nearly at an end!

Also a big well done to the EGB itself for 400 pages (despite the spamming, thanks to the mods for clearing that up), it has changed and improved beyond recognition since I joined back before page 100, and now performs a vital role in the Newgrounds community, particularly with the stolen flash alerts. The flagging alerts, especially for the inapropriate flash being spammed regularly recently, are a bit unneccessary though I feel: I'm pretty sure we can all work out for ourselves that something that disgusting needs to be flagged, and more often than not it is gone before anyone has even checked up on this thread!

But on the whole this thread is one of the best on the site, and here's hoping it survives for a long time to come.

Glad to see all was taken care of, most mods I have encountered while searching for these spammers dealt with turned to nice, those who haven't know very well who they are. But hopefully this came to an end, in the never ending fight of good vs. bad, bad usually has a clear edge but the good have the determination to win. Carry on men, and women.

Well, the spirit of the Barracks in my mind (and bear in mind, I am one of the longest serving members in this fine institution) seems to be a little light Roleplay, coupled with the purposes of protection of those weaker than us by voting correctly on flash to the individual's own point of view. We do not, have not, or will not ever condone mass voting, fileswapping or any other scandolous behaviors which some users regard as common practise on the portal.

We follow the path of behavior that would have been in the army, slogans, way of speech and things of that nature of part of the deal, should you have taken the time to check more carefully, perhaps glance into an actual base, you would find that any one with half a brain would speak with the same tone, and if you still oppose that, think that these are men and women who risk a lot, both physically and mentally, to protect you. These are people who live far from any regular civilization and fight to keep you safe, we aren’t that different, we struggle daily with people who refuse to respect the laws NG requests of submissions, reviews and so on. Were you ever watching a flash that has already past judgment for over 24 hours and discovered something utterly sick like videos of hideous acts or revolting images, I think not, at least not lately. And why do you suppose that does not happen, because the people who care for you safety endure this trauma on their own so that you don’t have to, and despite that you act rather thankless. You see we are careless with information, you may shoot me but I cannot find proof of that any where, when was the last time we had information of real importance and it was not handed out to the people that needed to be notified? Why we even discovered the hoax of member Dream_of_Duke, this may have not been in the plan but it comes to show not only are we careful enough with date, but we also use it to solve situations and problems, thus disproving your irrelevant claim of that. Next you say we make rash and thoughtless decisions, every decision we make is well thought out and discussed among the senior members of the club. Hear hear! I hate these ingrates as much as the next rational human, but I would advise against lowering ourselves to their level.

I just had to reply to Cold_Logic, as his rant was quite laughable. To the caual observer, we may just look like the 12th incarnation of the Blamming Club, but if anyone takes the time to actually read some of the posts here, they will discover we are much more, and a much nicer bunch of people, with better ideals.

First things first... Congrats to the EGB on reaching 400 pages (401 actually). Now, about the spammers let's just drop the subject sure it gets tiring seeing dumb post after dumb post but why should we care what they think about us? At the end of the day all the members here know what we do, we all know that we don't mass vote, we don't condone mass-voting and we don't flag anything unless iot deserve it. Our duty here is to protect the portal and that's how we roll if the spammers have a problem with that who cares because all of us know we ain't doing nothing wrong.
