Barracks Roster as of February 1st, 2023:
Happy February, all! Yeah, it's a bit cold here in the Northeast US, but that's to be expected. In 7 weeks it will be spring, and life will begin to seep back into these dormant trees and grey skies.
In case you hadn't seen my posts, we hit a snag with NGLogs on January 21st, where suddenly it just wouldn't read data from the NewGrounds site. After days of digging around, and some wonderful help from @BrenTheMan, it wound up being old code that didn't work after a required PHP update. I had to go through all of the database and table functions in both NGLogs and the EGB site (we load the roster the same way we get data for the logs) and make a bunch of little code changes. While I was in there, I also added some additional error checking code and retry logic, and now not only are both the sites back up, they're actually running cleaner and handling exceptions better.
But for a few days there I was pacing the floors and trying to figure out what went wrong with the code. It was a little stressful, but it's all good now.
January was a busy month here in the Barracks, and we had two promotions: Major @freaks-heart and newly minted Supreme Commander @tox ! Well done, soldiers - keep up the great work! *SALUTES*
Our resident insomniac EGSC @Guthrie still is plowing along with monster BP points, averaging over 95 a day. Maybe when the weather gets warmer, he'll take a break and go outside for a little bit. But in the meantime, keep being the beast! *SALUTES*
Hope February is good for you all - and thanks again for all your hard work, dedication and support.
