Lol it seems I have made myself a not-so-powerful enemy. Some guy whose 0-effort stuff I've been blamming and giving actual advice for made a piece of audio called "Haters" and removed it. I don't know what it was about, but he said something in one of the descriptions of his movies about people wanting plot and him making a movie without a plot because of that and "what are you gonna do about it? Punch me in the face through the screen?" I've actually never had this happen to me before.

Out of the current members, I bet not too many of them. Heck, we didn't even own a computer until 2004. I was 15 years old before I realized you could have a computer outside of a school or business.


I can still hear the dial up sounds as I snuck down to our computer to use ask jeeves to look up pokemon information, play on neopets, and watch flashes on newgrounds. I remember using every second of an hour to be able to vote on 5 submissions a day because just to load them took that long.

I think I was 14 when I made my account but I had been visiting the site since around 10 years old.

Oh god I'm having vivid flashbacks of doing these exact things. The day my dad got an ISDN connection for our computer in 2002 made a huge impact on load times for NG.

I think that was the case with me as well. I remember playing old games on newgrounds back around the time when we would play on websites like killfrog, joe cartoon, and jokefrog at school, but I think it wasn't until a few years later around age 14 that I opened a forums account. It was a funny time. I remember you could post for a couple months and get up into the top 50 posters. I did it in a summer because the attention sounded cool. I was one statwhoring little kid lol. I ended up cracking into the top 50 posters with like 2,000 posts. Now there's probably hundreds of people with higher post counts than me. It's insane how far this place has come.

I started in '06 - I was old then, and much older now. I started programming and working on computers when I was 14 - long before most NewGrounds folks were even conceived. The days of DOS, dual 360K floppy drive boxes with 640K RAM, 384K ROM/System (for a whopping 1MB of RAM), 1200bd Modem (thats 1200 bits, or 150 bytes, per second!) and an Intel 8088 CPU overclocked to a blinding 4.8Mhz. Ran IBM Assembler/machine code, Fortran and Interpreted BASIC.


It was my slave and my god. And the things I could do - or did - or might have done - ah, Pepperidge Farm remembers.

What's the policy on bodily fluids (besides blood), what should the rating be? I've been seeing a few Art submissions with pools and splurts of semen and they're rated Teen or Mature, and I would think something like that (even if there's no explicit nudity) would be rated Adult.

Good question. I suggest to put semen and urine under Mature. It’s not something you’d want on your screen at work, but I don’t consider it to be explicit as a nude spreading their legs or sexual penetration.


I’ve got more of a problem with that example pic being in the main portal, though, as it’s a digital sketch.

Actually, if that example wasn’t a sketch, I’m fairly sure you’d see a penis, which would make it Adult rated. However, it’s only got the graphic detail of a frankfurter at the moment.

Yeah there's alot of that kind of stuff floating around in the Art portal, than you think. It depends on the context of what the artwork shows too.
