DEFCON Update:

In light of the Portal's lack of activity, the DEFCON Level has been decreased from DEFCON 3 to DEFCON 4. Even though very few entrants are coming through per hour, still be on the outlook for any malicious intent in the Portal.

No, but it is the joys of the outside world that kept me away from active duty. I think I've spent enough timeserving and done my duty for the portal long enough. Maybe I’ll slowly get a few here and there until I reach 30,000. But right now I finally feel at peace.

As the Portal still has minimal activity since last night, the DEFCON Level will stay at DEFCON 4. Expect the level to rise around peak hours, which should occur around 3PM or so.

Now, soldiers, I have noticed that the last few days have really been taxing on us, as most of the conversation has been directed towards Portal ops. However, as I have felt comfortable with dropping down to DEFCON 4 and see little malicious intent on the Portal, I feel we can relax for a tiny bit.

Perhaps there is a topic we wish to discuss? As I said before, I wanted the Barracks to be a place for us to enjoy, not just to tirelessly work on the Portal. Granted, as Elite Guards, we often find ourselves doing what we love best when out on the Portal, we should have some leisure as well.

Anyone have a topic?

I certainly have to agree with you, Sergeant Major, sir. The flash was done very well in the first place, but it was the storyline that you don't see too often around the Portal that made it stand out. The whole Heaven vs. Hell thing seems trite, but you don't really see it on here! Good call, Sergeant Major, sir. I'm glad it made the daily feature, as it is definately an upstanding addition from our Portal.

Plus the Greek mythology thing was very nice "Gaia" is the titan that is responsible for earth...I am a big fan of Greek mythology.

Ahh...the wonderful barracks! After much re-installing and re-configuring, I am finally at about 98% in terms of Internet speed and ability. I am sorry to say that I was near crippled (I was at about 20% in terms of speed) last night without Firefox. Anyway, its great to be back and able to defend the portal once again!

If you don't mind me saying, sir, THOSE are the requirements?? I've heard many people say that the NG Mafia has super-stringent requirements. The only thing it seems that you require is intelligence and decency. Those don't seem too hard to swing at ALL. But they're not incapable of good flash. However, their past misdeeds are too much to allow any of their labeled content onto the portal. The clock crew was once this way, but has now divided into a half-half mix of ameteur and professional movies, thus lowering their security risk to the portal.
