...or more accurately, to humbly apologise for my long-standing absence around the Barracks, however with summer exams finally out of the way, I am making a serious attempt at a return to activity now. By the way, I would like to thank everyone for how they conducted themselves in the absence of higher authority (though I expected no less from anyone here) and to Ismael for grabbing the bull by the horns regarding RogerBK's membership application.
Unfortunately Roger, discussions will have to take somewhat longer than usual, as it is Barracks policy to delete a voting thread once discussions are finished, and due to a lack of foresight on my part when I became 3rd in command here I presently lack the administrative tools to delete the thread. However I will work on solving this, and once either this issue is resolved or another higher-up returns you will be notified of the decision. In the meantime you are more than welcome to post here as long as you abide by our standards, which from the posts here so far doesn't seem to be an issue.
Well I think that's about it for the moment, feel free to direct any questions or rage towards me for my absence haha.

You really don't need to say goodbye each time you think you're going to be absent for a day, specially in a place where it's normal for some of our members to go inactive for weeks or even months. Just look at our big list of members and you'll see what I'm talking about ;)

Again, bureaucracy at it worst, hah. If you become an Admin in our forums, but you think that you're not going to be really active, you should make someone a mod for that specific subforum. The current mod for the "Member Discussion" forum is Phantom, who besides already being an admin, is inactive :/

Hello RothantheBarbian great to see you on here again as well as other old members of the EGB. Now I'm a little confused about the current list on the EGB forums, I thought SlntCobra1 is Portal Violations Officer which he mentioned a few months back. So that is why I have not reported much because ,I recall that it was up top to Portal Violation Officer to do so. But according to the current list by Ismael92 I'm still PVO I'm confused help what is going on?!
Anyway that account with submissions is worth keeping an eye on.

Then again, I would have to keep up with all the submissions which look suspicious and the authors, etc. ugh, I don't think I could handle that. Not to say that I don't have a good work ethic, I do, it just seems like a lot of pressure.

While you are quite correct in your response, Fro, I can understand Sheiz's directive. I think I can say that we all believe that RogerBK votes fairly on passable flashes, or not at all. He is technically doing nothing wrong, per se.
But one of the reasons the EGB exists is to help weed out those flashes that are truly spam or porn or stolen or detrimental to the portal. We don't mass vote - but we all apply the rules as they stand and our own common sense to help keep the peace.
When you see an obvious "bad" flash that truly has no business on Newgrounds, and then don't blam it, that's the same thing as being in a war, spotting the enemy - and then letting them go by. If a soldier IRL did that, he would be court-martialed for dereliction of duty.
Now, we're certainly not going to pressure Roger - or anyone else - into blamming a flash when they feel they don't want to. But I do need to point out that maybe he could learn to be more self-confident in his position, so when he sees a flash that needs to be put down, he's not afraid to do the right thing and blam it. It's not an anti-social act, and it is anonymous unless you write about it in a review. Protecting the portal is the Prime Directive of the EGB - and we can't do that if we don't take out our blam rifles and give the bad guys hell.

Just asking an all. It's up to you guys, the list is getting a tad full.
Maybe I'm being a bit obsessive about all the inactive members we have, but I was about to suggest the same thing (which should have taken place on 23rd Martch). Unfortunately, Slash is inactive and he wasn't here around that time.
As Slash has said in the past, the roster should reflect which members are active, and which members we can count on if there's any problem. It would also make your work much easier since the roster would be shorter. What do you guys (and gals) think? If you want to, I could take care of the whole thing (sending and receiving PMs, organizing a list of active/inactive/retired/ members) since as I already mentioned, Slash is inactive, and also your life is much busier than mine (I would gladly take some work off your hands).

And I think Lizz has a good idea - maybe a roll call on June 1st and a revisit of Barracks functions is needed so that we have a more accurate picture of the truly active members here, as well as a defined chain of command to follow when key members are absent for protracted periods of time.

If the positions are available, I'd like to request either "High Priestess of Clandestine and Deniable Operations", "Dark Queen of the Rites of Initiation" or possibly "Chief Morale Booster and Abuser". I don't see those positions on the roster now, but maybe we could add one of them? I believe I am more than overqualified for any of them, but if anyone else is interested, well, we could put it up for a vote.
