Those aren't Zone-Sama's flashes, but HentaiKey themselves 'own' the flashes they host (i.e. they have sponsorships and copyrights on them), so they shouldn't be uploaded here without their expressed permission, which this account doesn't appear to have.

I've seen worse spam attacks. Heck, I've seen Kitties do some real misbehaving, far worse than spam. Don't worry, it was just a bunch of Kitties submitting together, nothing malicious or stolen. Heck, nobody was even blatantly alt-spamming, and the closest thing to rule-breaking was submitted by someone who is no longer connected to the KK in any way. I should know, I'm with the Krew, though I didn't have a chance to get anything ready due to finals.

I don't think you've realized, Ultor, but nobody ever gets to leave NG alive. You have to die to leave. The KK is alive and kicking after a period of dormancy. Even BFK made a comeback for Portal Splode Day, submitting then disappearing into the background again. Same goes for the Star Syndicate: apparently that #1 Uploader spot meant more to someone than they were letting on.

Thanks for the kind words - I just try to lead by example. I don't ask anyone to do anything I wouldn't do (but there's not much I won't do, so that could become interesting!) Oddly enough, while I like to inspire people to do their best, I don't see myself as a leader. It's just a matter of life - if everyone did the best they could and be the best they could be, life would be easier for all of us.
And quite frankly, I have a long way to go to reach all of your achievements and stature here in the EGB - and by the time I get there, you'd have moved up even more - not just in points, but in activity and the leadership roles that you perform. You're a big part of the EGB - and Newgrounds - and that says a lot of good things about you.

Its great to see The kitty Krew make a comeback again. I like the new intro. I have noticed quite a few of there flashes in the portal. Flash groups seem to be quiet with maybe, The Clock Crew submitting the odd one sometimes. But The Lock Legion did submit one which won an award. It made the top five. I would love to have a rank of like Supreme Commander no much luck of that with my b/p per day.

I remember when I first joined the EGSC - I was a lot like you back then. Because of the dedication and determination I had shown every day and night patrolling the Portal for rogue or otherwise poor Flash, I achieved the rank of Supreme Commander rather quickly. I'm sure with the same amount of time and guts, you can rise up the ranks quite fast if you stay abreast with our organization.

In other news, I just wanted to announce thatI have finally returned to the Newgrounds community after a very long period of absence. I came back this Monday and have been watching the Portal, checking up with what's "hot" or not, and trying to make sense of how much progress we have all really come along to make since. I hope all of my old and new friends from before are still here and keeping up with the changes - I still have a lot of catching up to do in terms of getting reacquainted with everything here. Anyway, I thank everyone for allowing me to have joined the ranks in the first place, and for continuing to keep the 'Grounds clean and safe for the sake of our fellow users. I don't think I would have made it this far if I hadn't...okay, maybe I would have, but I know I wouldn't have met any of you then.

I had thought of flagging that particular Flash myself, but although it counts as both stealing (from Palcomix) and unsuitable, I don't know if it fits both definitions absolutely. I'm not going to flag it because of this ambiguity, but I expect it to be BLAMmed ASAP.

But I will agree with you that this shit is getting ridiculous. I mean, seriously, Newgrounds? I think I'm going to address a speech on this very problem in a later blog post. I cannot count the number of times I have facepalmed and shook my head in shame IRL from something I saw in the Portal today. Spam will be addressed later, for it seems nothing can be done to stop the bulk of it from entering the Portal for free.

Ah, if I understood what you said, the flash is unsuitable, since it has a porn slideshow with no interactivity...
Any slideshow without interactivity will be flagged, no matter if it has porn or not, if there are buttons, like the hentai galleries, the flash mustn't be flagged...

Heheh; as it so happens I've just had this exact conversation over in the NGPD thread a few days ago. I don't know how long you've been away for, or how long the current submission rules have been here for either, but there's one rule (pictured below) that says "do not post pictures in a slideshow format with no interactivity". The fact that this is also porn, as mentioned in the 'unsuitable' flagging option, just makes it even more obvious IMO.
Chances are it'll be blammed anyway for it's total lack of quality, but meh. I tried.

See, "Spam" subs are an interesting case...they are their own Flash movie category under the Portal's submission system, yet most everyone reviles them. These groups, these Portal "spammers" are the least of our concern, and should be likened to a parasite. All they are and accomplish is attention-whoring, because they're obviously not taking their "art" seriously and are social outcasts who want an audience to fill their emptiness. Let's not forget the GIFT, after all.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Newgrounds usually gets this sort of shit happening every once in a while, but to have witnessed the horrific acts committed here must have been hella-aggravating. I don't use the BBS very often, and the Art portal is new to me, but I can only imagine what kinds of Hell were unleashed. I've only been away 3.5 years, and now everything just seems so...distant. Newgrounds was somewhere I considered home, and now I can barely recognize it. This is starting to depress me beyond the limit my therapist had advised me to go. Dammit...

Ah, what the hell, here's a full list of what went on last year:
- Spam. A lot of fucking spam. Most of it involved uploading stolen stuff that, once past judgement, would be fileswapped to the generic stupid stuff like screamers and annoying shit. Eventually this turned into:
- Fileswapping of malicious stuff. Including videos of people getting decaphitated and maliciously coded flashes that messed with your printer (apparently it was an attempt to get people's printers to spew child porn, but thankfully it didn't work exactly as planned).
- Speaking of CP: a lot of it in the art portal. This was made a lot worse when they effectively shut it down completely, due to:
- Hacking accounts. Particularly targeting those of BBS, review and Art mods. See, the Art portal works on this scouting tree idea. People that've been scouted can upload things to the art portal, and can scout others, who can in turn scout more deserving people and so on. It kinda radiates out in a tree-branch sort of way. At the start is the account of a bot whose initial purpose was to start the scouting tree, so that it would have a base. Problem is; unscout that and EVERYONE else gets unscouted too, leaving a bare art portal. Which is exactly what happened once an Art mod had his e-mail hacked into.
To add insult to injury, the culprit then scouted spammer accounts, who uploaded all kinds of illegal shit into it, resulting in an art portal that only had porn in it.
Also, random BBS and review bans all round from the other compromised accounts.
- Stealing daily awards. This happened later, and wasn't really effective at annoying anyone, but still screwed up P-Bot's daily top 5 and so on.
Eventually, the whole stupid episode burned itself out. They literally ran out of things to annoy people with, and most of them left or got tired of being deleted and having to re-do their IP addresses every day. It just became obvious to all involved that Newgrounds can't be trolled to death, no matter how hard you try.
I've only been away 3.5 years, and now everything just seems so...distant. Newgrounds was somewhere I considered home, and now I can barely recognize it. This is starting to depress me beyond the limit my therapist had advised me to go. Dammit...
Well, a redesign and 3 years of expansion of both this site and the internet in general will do that. Hell, I heard talk of another redesign happening soon, so it may all change again in the near future. Best get used to it; Newgrounds doesn't appear to be as stationary as it once was.
