Now, I've never seen his ass. Is it really that cute, or are you taking his word for it? Do you have any visual aids to help support your claim, or is this just part of your strange fantasy and obsession with our friend here? Or were you just trying to make him feel better?

He's got a normal sized ass, so we're not talking big old black bubble butt here. However, it is a big enough size to get a good grip when you pinch it. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty awesome to successfully make him yelp out in pain with an ass pinch.

Hey, if anyone come across stolen Flashes and post them in the EGB thread, would you mind also sending your message over to the Police Department? The extra bit of exposure could make the difference between the Flash passing or being sent into administrative review. Thanks, Mike.

Hmm. Some mods see this as copypasta +1'ing, others are fine with it bringing extra attention to flashes. Personally, I'm leaning towards being in favour of it, but I can see both sides of the argument.
It could give flashes extra attention where needed, but how much? I read all new posts in both of the threads, so it wouldn't make a lot of difference in my case. I'm guessing the majority of people do the same as me, and so it might be as simple as telling the NGPD to check this thread, and vice versa.

Then again, I could also be in a tiny minority with regards to reading both threads, I don't know. How many people in the EGB and NGPD read both threads here?

Response to The Elite Guard Barracks 2010-02-10 19:32:41

Hammer's got a point Mike. It could be seen as +1'ing which is the exact type of conduct we don't condone.

Hey Hammer, just out of curiosity, would you mind explaining your current sig? Lizz and I were talking about it yesterday and it confuses the hell out of us.

I shit you not, I have actually had a PM from someone saying he had a dream about it. I guess this thing really IS a mindfuck. o_0

I was just remembering those "BRB, answering some PMs" sigs and all the spin-offs one night, and at pretty much the same time asked myself what it would look like to have the 'unread PM' number appear in completely the wrong place. To me, seeing that would look like a joke from the admins (namely Tom) trying to trick people into logging out for no reason. It looked like the kind of thing a very bored Fulp would do. :P

Those flashes looked like they have been file swapped got work there again Sir-Nuts you must spend ages on the portal I will report them. looks like its Chris Beer again using a stolen? account the account dates from 2008 got horrible porn on it. I really don't think this is a +1 post. You need to get as many people as you can to flag the flash successfully, and this really helps. Don't you think it's annoying when a rule-breaking submission passes judgment? Then look at it this way: If only one or two more people had flagged it, it wouldn't have passed judgment, and by posting in the NGPD the flash gets more than just one or two extra flags.

And take a look at our Barracks Whistling FAQ. Slash himself says that "if you do confirm a stolen flash, post a link to it in the Elite Guard Barracks AND the NGPD".

It has effectively been called a +1 post by a certain mod, but that's not the main point here:

Then look at it this way: If only one or two more people had flagged it, it wouldn't have passed judgment, and by posting in the NGPD the flash gets more than just one or two extra flags.

I really don't know if that's the case or not. Which is why I made this poll to try and find out.

And take a look at our Barracks Whistling FAQ. Slash himself says that "if you do confirm a stolen flash, post a link to it in the Elite Guard Barracks AND the NGPD".

At the end of the day, Slash does not have the final say here (especially not now, since he's buggered off), the mods do. And since the concern over +1ing came from said mods, it's worth taking into consideration regardless of what Slash says.

The only problem with that is that you can have same argument for malicious review flagging. Just because it has good natured roots doesn't mean it won't spawn into something bad.

And take a look at our Barracks Whistling FAQ. Slash himself says that "if you do confirm a stolen flash, post a link to it in the Elite Guard Barracks AND the NGPD".

Well, my take on the matter is that I'd like to agree with Slash and mwmike on this one, but I am a bit averse to assuming what mods think. I'd feel better if we got some mod input on this one. Until then, I'd say let's not do double-posting until we get some kind of clearance.

Let's remember that they already had issues with the NGPD being considered superfluous to our own thread, so we don't want to stir up those waters again. It might make more sense to encourage NGPD and EGB members to check both threads, as that helps preserve our own individuality.

I personally don't get to check the NGPD lately (I barely get to the EGB :-/), but then again, I'm not on enough to get to the Flash posted here before it is judged.

My own contact with mods is something I'll actually need a hand with. If anyone has any mods they're in contact with, send me a PM or an IM and I can see about the double-posting idea.

I've always checked both threads but I know that many members of the Police Department rarely check the barracks for stolen Flashes, especially those that are in a rush at the time they come onto C&C, and I'm guessing that quite a few guardsmen rarely ever check the NGPD either. Honestly, the fact that reporting it in both places adds one to your postcount shouldn't take your mind off from the fact that it's highly likely to make the difference to whether a Flash thief ends up getting away with it or not. I'm not going to make any demands or anything, but seeing as more people flagging something is always better it's something to keep in mind when you come across a stolen Flash in the portal.

Yeah, what mods say is more important, they are the ones who rule in the BBS after all.

Well, Coop is a moderator... Unless you want to talk to someone who's not in the EGB. In that case I guess I can't help you, I'm not in contact with any mod (though you shouldn't worry about that, most of them are nice and will answer any question you might have about the BBS).

My thoughts exactly. We (people at the EGB and NGPD) don't care about our postcounts. And when it comes to flagging abuse, there are never too many posts :)

And normally, when a link is posted while the flash is under judgement, it gets removed as marked for admin review soon afterwards.

Perhaps the members of the NGPD, as the junior faction should be encouraged to lurk in here, thus giving them the opportunity to flag, just the same.

Otherwise, it would be like me going into every Club and / or crew I am a part of and posting a link to my latest piece of work. Tedious and nothing new. Please try to keep the bumps down in this case, but if you're adding something of great worth other than those links, sure, post them.

But you're crossing fromthe grey area to a black and white - only if it's new material, not just copy / paste.

Thanks.

There's nothing wrong with being argumentative if you have the courage of your convictions that you stand behind what you're arguing. Also, arguing is usually tempered by diplomacy. Sometimes I can be diplomatic - and sometimes I'm as subtle as an elephant in a glass factory.

Who did the honors of slapping you, and for what? If it was your parents, well, that's their job - to keep you in line. But generally, you don't seem to be the argumentative type. A little opinionated, true - but aren't we all?

Sounds like you're having a rough day, my friend. Cheer up - more snow is coming!!!!

Arguing is something that is completely healthy and probably something that most people do on most days of their life. It's the type of arguing that you have to watch out for. If your doing to add discussion or a different point of view then that's a great thing, but if your doing it in a mean manner and doing it just for the sake of arguing then it's something completely different.

I've never seen you as argumentative though.

As long as there is good reason both for and within the argument, it's never a bad thing. Only when you start sounding like a butthurt kid should you go and take a look at yourself. Deep down, people know if they have any reason to continue pushing an issue they have; it's just a matter of admitting to yourself when your motivation is simple petty pointscoring and / or counterproductively selfish.

I trust you can tell the difference between a valid argument and a pointless bitchfight. I've seen no reason to doubt the idea.

Damn good point. I didn't forget about, you by the way, I thought as a review mod you might not meddle with such BBS issues. I really need to stop taking people for granted around here... :-)

So, for now, just post in the EGB. Occasional reminders to check both are okay, but re-posting the same thing shouldn't be done for the reasons Coop said.

I wouldn't say you are argumentative per se, but you do stand up for your convictions. However, that's not a bad thing. Depending on what the argument is about is really a separate issue. Overall, though, I wouldn't say you are just naturally a problem to talk to. On a case-by-case basis, you could be wrong in an argument (and receive said bitch slap), but I wouldn't get down on yourself otherwise. You're an officer around here for a reason.

That made me smile what you said about the snow EagleRock the snow that was over here England lost its novelty very quickly after christmas was over with. It sure looked pretty but got real annoying fast. Talking of arguments I felt I had to write a review I know its has a low score I gave. But I thought my opinions were valid it got rated useless right away. Maybe I did not get my point I did try to explain my point the flash in question was this it made me annoyed but I wondered if anyone else has seen it.

26-30: Hey, you lazy kid! Get your ass out of bed and shovel the driveway for your mother! My asshole boss didn't close up the business today, and you like to eat, right?

31-35: How come you kids in school get snow days, while my taxes pay for your days off? I don't care if you're hungover, get shoveling before I dump this bucket of ice water on you!

36-40: Great! All the kids are in school and moved out, and now I gotta pay some 14 year old $30 just to shovel my walkway. Does it snow in Miami?

41-45: My knees popped just getting out of bed, and I'm achy before I even eat my morning bran. Does AAA shovel out cares as part of my Premium plan?

46-50: Aw, the grandkids came over to help dig me out. I'll make some hot cocoa and cookies - it's going to take them hours to dig out that 10 inches.

51-55: Great, my grandson showed up to shovel me out. He only charges $20. He better not forget the rock salt.

56-60: Just called an ambulance. Slipped on the walkway my lazy grandson didn't finish. That little bastard is getting socks for Christmas!

61-65: One day we're going to look back on all of this and think it was beautiful. But today, it's just another pain in my wrinkled ass. Pass me the Snuggy!

65+ : It doesn't snow in Miami! Shoulda moved here years ago!

30-34 - I have some sick leave, maybe I can call in "sick". Hmm, then again, that wouldn't be very ethical. Crap. A POX ON MY MORALS!!!! *sigh* Sadly crime never sleeps. If I'm not in, who else is gonna process the shell casings?

40-46 - Wow, I have the whole day to shovel the drive. FUCK! The wife is at work, it's my day off and the kids are at school. I'm going back to bed. Before I do, I'll pay the neighbor kid to shovel. I think $30 is a fair deal.

46-56 - Oh damn, I am getting way too old for this shit, kids are in high school, I'll pay my nephew/niece $40 to shovel since my brother is here. Sucker.

56-76 - Oh look, the grandkids are here. Cool, they're much younger than I am, "Hey Joe, shovel the walk and don't forget the salt!"

76+ - I'm dead, what do I care if it snows?

I couldn't quite be as witty as Byte, but I still tried dammit!

My opinion of snow didn't quite go like that. There was a marked, definite, 100% switch between ages 11 and 12. At 11, I loved the snow and prayed for it to come; at 12, I hated it and prayed to prevent it. God usually listened. The switch came when my parents made me start shoveling, of course. But this time, the snow got me the last three days off, only one of which I had to shovel the shit. So I'm as happy as it gets.

For quirky, original wit, you can't beat the EGB's resident crazy old lady.

It will be sad, however, when she completely loses it, and 20 years from now we'll likely find her living in a squalid bungalow with 57 cats, all named Maybelline.

Also, I'm sick of snow too, but not as much as I'm sick of perpetual grey, drizzly skies. Seriously, it's been switching from drizzling snow / hailstones to drizzling rain for the last month already. NON. FUCKING. STOP.
However, I used to love the snow too, and I'm still kinda sad that I can't fit into my old sledge any more (ignoring the fact that there's no-one to pull me around in it either, but meh). Can't remember when I got bored of it, but still... :(

Well, I'm not old yet - at least, not from my point of view. From my perspective, I'm just waiting for everyone else here to just catch up.

Ah, no, do not fear. I try to keep my mind active, so I hope to push off senility for a long time. But if I do begin to get flaky (okay, flakier) around the edges, I think I'll name all my cats after EGB members to help me remember everyone here. Imagine this:

The year is 2050. There is a small house in the middle of a Connecticut suburb that needs new paint and some serious landscaping. The picket fence is broken in spots, and the old car in the driveway has been sitting on four flat tires for years. The name on the mailbox has long since been obliterated, but the little old lady inside doesn't mind. Everyone has been calling her "Auntie Byte" for as long as she could remember.

Inside, there are piles and piles of computer parts from years long passed. She used to fix them, but now, they are more useful as furniture - and a playground for the countless number of cats that scamper, play and fight. Oddly enough, despite all of the feline frenzy, they have all been trained to go outside through the kitty door and do their pooping in the overgrown garden.

From the dark corners of what was once a server room, you can hear the voice of a little old lady chastising her furry friends - all named after historic EGB members: "Cobra, stop drinking out of the toilet! Porkchop, stop that - that's a STUFFED cat! Lizz, get up and play with Krev - all you do is lay down all day, everywhere and anywhere! Puddin, look at that mess - another furrball on the floor! Fro, get off that TV - you never seem to get enough of it. Aldlv, where are you? It's time for your medicine! Oh, and you my feisty little Eaggie - stop trying to boss all the others around. What do you think you are, their commander?"

Yeah, I might go crazy - but I'll be taking all of you with me ...hehehe!!!!

Until then, I'll just keep everyone chuckling!

Of course I would have a disgusting, messy, gross kitty named after me... :3

Also, I have no idea how you guys level up so quickly and frequently. After about ten minutes in the portal voting on stuff, I really just want to close the browser and go play solitaire. Maybe that's why I'm slow with ranking up..

Otherwise, it would be like me going into every Club and / or crew I am a part of and posting a link to my latest piece of work. Tedious and nothing new. Please try to keep the bumps down in this case, but if you're adding something of great worth other than those links, sure, post them.
Damn good point.

Someone had to make it.

I didn't forget about, you by the way, I thought as a review mod you might not meddle with such BBS issues. I really need to stop taking people for granted around here... :-)

As a Review Mod, I don't. However, as a BBS Mod, I do ;)

Didn't you know - I got the job about a month ago :P

So, for now, just post in the EGB. Occasional reminders to check both are okay, but re-posting the same thing shouldn't be done for the reasons Coop said.

Yeah, I had a word with one user for posting links in here, the NGPD and the Levelup! Lounge for questionable reviews. If you have to deal with these, PM me, or if you want more people to whistle them, IMs or PMs can sort that out.

If I see multiples appearing in these places, I will delete posts for +1ing. I don't want to, but I have rules to enforce.

But if I do begin to get flaky (okay, flakier) around the edges, I think I'll name all my cats after EGB members to help me remember everyone here. Imagine this:

OH CRAP! SHE'S ALREADY SENILE!!! QUICK, CALL THE MEN IN WHITE!!!

Wow, redneck yard much?

Inside, there are piles and piles of computer parts from years long passed. She used to fix them, but now, they are more useful as furniture - and a playground for the countless number of cats that scamper, play and fight. Oddly enough, despite all of the feline frenzy, they have all been trained to go outside through the kitty door and do their pooping in the overgrown garden.

I wish I could train my cat to do that. Go to the bathroom outside that is.

Oh sure, make ME DRINK OUT OF THE TOILET! I'd probably be the one getting into everything and just being a mischievous little kitteh!

Porkchop, you PERV!
Yea, Lizz is lazy. Krev, she's a loner. :P
Puddin, go spit outside.
Fro lays on the TV 'cuz it's made of warm!
Who knows were Aldlv is?
Hey, someone has to be the Alpha male. :\

^_^

Yeah, I might go crazy - but I'll be taking all of you with me ...hehehe!!!!

NOT IF I DO IT FIRST!!!!!

Also, I don't have a spell checker (and I'm not used to this keyboard) so please bare with me.

I have... Twice. First in Chile and a couple of years later in Bariloche, Argentina :D
Talking about snow... I wish there was snow in here right now. It's too hot >:(

like i already got tired of so much sun.... so much beaches... it get boring after a while... hahaha

Yeah the beach gets boring after you go to it every damn summer. When you're a kid it's cool but after that... Not so much. I would make some kind of timeline like the ones made by Byte, Eagle and Cobra about the snow... But I'm too lazy.
