Yeah, these kind of "clubs" can sometimes get too many over a day, especially as some of those moderators who visit the Clubs & Crews forum section tend to forget to do so sometimes.

However, there are "clubs" being made that are more annoying that those.

Well, there was this one club I saw that got over 3 pages of posts, was obviously a copy of the NG Mafia, and then got locked. But I give the mods credit for locking it eventually.

Also, I just realized your from Sweden... wow, am I out of it...
Hehe, what do you mean?

Nothing... no I was just thinking about it - I mean cause I'm like a quarter Norweigan... yeah... lol - and that would explain the timezone difference as well

Oh, yeah the NG Yakuza. I gave it some posts on the first page to make the thread starter understand why it was a bad idea.

If you don't read the FAQ every now and then you should do it again, the forum rules was updated last week.

Also, do mods normally respond to emails about things pertaining to spam? (Simply curious)

That depends. I am not sure how you mean but if you have any statements that should be considered and probably could easy the time you would suffer for the ban, then they do.

Well, it depends, some moderators does, some don't.

I've always got answers when I've e-mailed moderators/administrators.

I'm pretty sure Andersson will let you join - in the meantime, until he gives you a "member's ID" - you can post here... yeah...

If I've been asking for help I usually get a very prompt response from liljim/mods. I have occasionally emailed the mods and Wade regarding spam. I never get a response, but the problem is usually sorted fairly quickly afterwards.

It would be great to have you as a member. It might help if you described your area of expertise though, otherwise Andersson might give you one of the generic member specifications.

I'm glad my experience helps other people. There could be an outside chance that the moderator missclicked or just saw the title and clicked destroy on purpose, but i find that highly unlikely. At least i hope so :P

Administrators do usually respond with short answers while moderators (Some of the absorbed moderators) come with longer answers and explanations in some cases.

That's atleast what I've experienced.

At 9/19/05 05:11 AM, Frostbreath wrote: I'm glad my experience helps other people.

Haha, well did you read Wade's post about the "Destroy" tool? It gave us the same information, if you've read it closer, you wouldn't had to experience a ban from it to understand it. =P

The chance that something like that happend is slim to none.
Moderators may be harsh in some ocasions but the chance that they ban everyone posting in a whole thread without reading more than the topic is a vained assertion.

And if they banned alot of people through one "missclick" is not very likely. I believe they have to click more than one time, just as you need to if you want to flag a submission, and if they then did do it anyways, I'm sure they could unban the members who got banned and unlock the thread again.
Don't you think?

-=Poll=-

I have a question concerning the member information you get when you join us here, ain't the "Member Specifications" that you'll get abit of an exageration?

I think I might stop with that. It doesn't really fill any function. Or what do you think?

We'll vote and the score will tell us how we'll do, alright?

True, I see those four quite often.

Even jonthomson and DirtySyko does.

I did see jon in the C&C until he disappeared for some reason. :( I hope he returns soon.

I saw the rule update. Not much of a change, but at least it now says 30 day is the max ban time.

I doubt the mod accidently clicked that. Must've saw a parody and considered it as spam as there the thread went along with some people.

Keep the membership things. They look nice IMO.

Except all those I said, there are others who come here, but that's very rare. And then there's ofcourse those who get here if you'll ask them for help, but I don't count them.

Well, some things was updated. It's good that they do it because you can't expect that a site growing as much as this one would manage to have the same rules year after year.
Rules change while the FAQ doesn't, it's a too large flaw.

Another big flaw in the rules is the NG Chat rules(!).

There ain't a rule saying that you'll have to speak English, even though it's the standard in the chat and you'll be kicked/banned if you don't speak English.

Keep the membership things. They look nice IMO.

Haha, you think everything "stat-like" looks nice. =P

Well, we'll see how it goes, maybe I'll keep it.

I like the member specifications, they should definitely stay. However, I do think they need a little tweaking. I'll post a member list in a bit with updated member specifications, and then you can let me know if you like them or not.

No, you're right, it doesn't do any good for anything. However, for a person like me, that never has been employed, it's kind of cool having a title.

But i'm neutral in this question. I don't really care which side that'll win.

I know. What you could do is adopt the system we use in the NGDD. So if a member is inactive for a certain period of time they get kicked.

I have been thinking about that. They'll get some more time though; I don't want to kick people that can become active later.

One thing I could do though is to make the member information wider so people will visit this thread more often to get some kind of "points".

I made an entire traditional role playing game by myself, I think I can make an intresting "point system" too. =P

That's actually what I was going to suggest to you next. Also when it comes to kicking people, their member number will remain unused, so if they do return you can re-instate their details. This would mean you would need to keep a copy of their member details before you kicked them.

I think what Andersson was getting at is you serve the portal (due to your rank of Elite Guard Supreme Commander). I thought that didn't sound quite right (no offence to Andersson), so I changed it to screener, as in you screen what enters the portal.

Yeah, that would be good in one way; It would be easier to put them back on the list.

But on the other hand, those who've always stayed on the list should drop closer to the member ID-Number "0001" as a bonus.

Someone who helps maintain the portal through faithfully vote there each day for a very long time, you serve the portal with your actions, your help or how I should express myself.

Yes, I really think so. History that ain't in the FAQ is what we're most intrested of and as you've been here for quite a while (And seems to be active more than just the minutes of depositing your experience), I'm sure you have alot of experience to share. =)

I like the idea - both of them - and also, perhaps we should email people before we kick them out? (If they have an email adress that is) - It might be wise, so we know that their not on some month long vacation or something - but it's just a suggestion.
