Lol, according to Newgrundling's method, your overall average per day is 4.3. I mean when I asked about it, I meant the average since you've had your account. I could say I get 50-75 per day as well, but that's only because I'm on spring break right now. When I average everything out, I get 35.8 per day.

I know that. I've posted in his thread before, with both the averages since I signed up, and the averages since I actually started posting/blamming/saving/reviewing in January.

What's the point of telling you my average since 2/18/2000 when I didn't start blamming or saving till January of 2003, though? It doesn't tell you how many points I get per day right NOW if I average the things I've gotten in 90 days out over 1200 days since I signed up, does it? Sheesh.
When someone asks for a rate, they usually want to know how much of something you're getting per day. 4.3 or whatever per day is not indicative of my current performance as a guy with 4940 blams and saves, and hell, it isn't even indicative of my performance when I had 50 blams and saves (I wasn't getting 75 per day back then, but I was at least getting 20 or 25 per day).

I print out the top 50 list every 3 days then do some calculations. I could give you a pretty accurate figure but...
If you want to know that bad just track me like gfoxcook did (or just ask him).
oh, and BTW, the day you signed up, I had 555 points. so I've averaged about 70 points a day to get to 4940 since you signed up. Isn't that just a teensy weensy little bit more relevant to a discussion of blam/protect rates than saying I've gotten an average of 4 points per day over a 3+ year period? Annnnyway.

My apologies for not picking up on that.
What's the point of telling you my average since 2/18/2000 when I didn't start blamming or saving till January of 2003, though?
I guess there isn't any really, except for the fact that it's interesting to see how someones performance in that area evolves over time.
It doesn't tell you how many points I get per day right NOW if I average the things I've gotten in 90 days out over 1200 days since I signed up, does it? Sheesh.
No, but the case is the same with me, as well. I've had this account for about 2 months, but I didn't start really going for points till like 3 weeks ago.

When I did the math, I realized that 4.3 was not a very accurate representation of how many points you get per day. I didn't ask for your own calculation, I wanted to know where it stood using Newgrundling's method. Sure, it may not be such a great representation, but at least that way everybody is weighed by the same scale.

gfoxcook, the best way to calculate your real average per day is to do what I said. Just write down your total blam/protect points each day for a number of days. Record the increase on the second day, third etc. Then divide the increase total by the number of recorded increases and Shazam!! This is the most accurate method.

Jesus, I didn't mean to offend you. If I did, my apologies, but I really don't see how I did. You remind me of Gollum and his relation to the ring, I didn't realize these points were so "precious" to you.
The whole reason I asked to know using the method that I did, is because that way there's no way you could be lieing about it. I don't know you, how do I know how honest your own "calculations" are.
From now on, I'll view you as an honest person, and trust whatever you say is true. Take it easy though, sheesh, they're just points. If I've managed to insult your life's work, then you need to take your hobby just a little less seriously.

Sure, but then a graph of the progress is the way to go, not a flat average that doesn't really tell you anything, except that I didn't do squat for 35 months, an then all of a sudden did a hell of a lot of stuff for 3 months.

Well there you go. Then your actual amount per day is much higher than the average over your whole account time. It's just that the difference isn't as noticeable for you since you signed up in 2003, not 2000.
When I did the math, I realized that 4.3 was not a very accurate representation of how many points you get per day. But this all started when you asked Recon Rebel how many per days he gets, and the way you asked it, it seemed like you wanted to know how he's climbing the rank ladder so quickly. If he told you the overall average, and he had a long gap of inactivity like I do, then the number he gives you wouldn't be very helpful, I wouldn't think. Therefore, it's far more useful to hear how many he gets per day right now, when he's zipping up the rank chart like a mofo. #;-}>

I have a log where I record my blams, protects, total points, my exp, my post count, and my rankings... and I record the blam/protects/total twice a day along with the time.
This is the log that I refer to for calculating my effective averages, so I basically am doing what you just laid out, only more extensively.

I have quite a long fuze, and it takes a lot to make me angry enough with someone to get rude and insulting about it. Life is too short to waste bickering, especially over something as ridiculously insignificant as blam and protection points.

When I asked Recon the question, I actually wanted to know what his average was since he had his account. I expected to see a significantly lower number than he currently gets, which is what I wanted to see. I wanted to be able to calculate just how much he's picked up his pace as of late, by comparing his average from the beginning, to the probably 75+ he gets now.
Needless to say, if I want to know how many points someone is getting per day currently, I will use the method Recon listed, or just ask the person directly, and trust their judgement.

A) I once challenged him to a blam/save duel. If he was me, that would be a bit beyond my normal insanity. I may be OCD, but I don't have multiple personalities, and I don't talk to myself in BBS threads.
B) Why the fuck would I have two accounts on the top 50 list at once? That's just insane. It's impossible in the first place, and in the second place, it would divert attention from one account to the other. Not that every single blam or protect would be on an individual flash game or movie, but still, doing it all in one account would mean I'd have more points than Recon Rebel.
In any event, I hope you were joking. I don't post like him, my profile is totally different from him, etc. etc.
