LEVEL UP!
Good for a few reasons:
1. First weapon.
2. No more level 12.
3. No more boxing gloves.
4. Unless I get knocked down by HT, or I've done something wrong when adding up, I will not have a hand level until 2006.
And we all know the main reason why level 13 is so good.
Congrats to the birthday boys, level uppers (altr and non-drunk people), round users with round numbers (Foxphere, RedCircle, etc) and anyone else who wants congratulating.
Grats foxphere Gooch and Qwoxyl on their level ups and blam and save accomplishments.
Qwoxyl, thanks for putting a downer on me buddy, no more hands till 06, man, the gauntlet better be worth it when we get there :D

1)It would Lijim's job.
2)He will never do it and he already typed why approximately 150 times.
Don't even bother asking him again.
If people could modify their posts, they could type something like:
-I like this mod.
the next person to post types: -me too
then the first poster changes his post to the opposite:
-I hate blahblah
the second sentence is still : - me too
then they get both banned even if the second guy didn't deserve it.
I could continue showing many situations where an edit button would be more trouble than anything else so I'm sure that a mistake in a post isn't that bad compared to what could happen with an edit button.
a good idea would be to give an edit post option to specific users, but if they abuse that then they can just have that removed. i'm sure liljim is capable of doing that. But only users who are trustworthy can have the option to edit their posts.

Nope, he won't trust anyone. The best idea that we gave him was to be able to edit but the old message would still appear so they know what was your first reply. The message and the edit would both have a date so the mods and admins would know if the users that responded to him replied before or after the edit.
He said many times and that he won't even trust the mods so forget your idea. :D

I know but I thought that you would do it so I stopped you before you did :). I have no idea why you typed Wade, Lijim would be the guy that implements that kind of stuff for the forum because he's the programmer.
Damn, that would really suck. An innocent being punished for someone else's actions
Indeed, that example was given by Lijim. I just typed one of his arguments.
I had no idea that adding an edit button would cause so much trouble. I withdraw my statement about adding the damn thing.
hey, everyone makes that mistake :P Guess how many times it was asked? hahaha
Or maybe have an edit post for everyone.. but only have the edit button for 5 minutes after the post and then after 5 minutes then a user cannot edit their post. Sometimes after viewing the post after it has been posted makes people aware that they've made a mistake. I know i've made a few mistakes in my posts in the past and so has several others.

It takes 5 seconds to post a short reply and it also takes 5 seconds to edit a post . A short discussion could turn out into something ugly if the first edits right after a few replies his post and the second one typed that he agrees before the edit. The second guy might be busy or posting somewhere else so he might not notice it before an admin or a mod.
The mod or the admin that will see the posts has no idea about what was modified so he doesn't know to what the second guy agrees. He will probably assumes that they second would agree with the offensive post that wasn't one before the edit and he will ban both.
My example was for 2 people but more could agree and more will unfairly banned.
Whenever they will try to explain themselves to an admin or a mod, the admin or the mod won't believe him because the proof that he was agreeing to something else would be gone.
.. so Yoink, is it still a good idea? :P

Disposing of the evidence so to speak (lol). Hey Regulus, would editing a post affect bandwidth in the same manner as posting does? Would the addition of an edit button cause the system to run slower?

pfff my post has a few mistakes. I type "they" and then "him" O_o. I still maintain my position though. I would prefer to check my posts instead of using an edit button. I had one good suggestion where both messages (first and the edited parts) stay there but ummm I dunno, it could still give some trouble to the admins, especially for a reason: the posts would start getting mega-long. No solutions seem perfect :(
oh yeah that paragraph wasn't a reply to you recon. haha

but I have never HAD gold or deity. I was normal for the first two days of the whistle system and then became silver on the third day. And I've been silver ever since. Just increasing my power and getting closer and closer to gold ever since.
I think that Wade should add some more whistle ranks such as platinum, tin, aluminum, just to vary the users alittle more. It may make users want to get better whistles and actually care about them (thinking they actually have a chance at a new rank). It will cut back on all of these abusive reveiws coming in.
That would be nice, yes.
Also I hate the fact that people can write horrible/spammy reveiws, on movies that are going to be blammed, and get away with it. Any commentary?

That's exactly right.
And that's how I post in MY topics and other topics I post in often enough that I can make one BIG multi-quote reply to catch up... and then "turn it down a notch" for replies later that day, for instance.
The problem is that I don't post in level up! often enough anymore to really stay caught-up long enough to ease into a less-lengthy post mode here. I come here every week or so and post big catch-up posts... and maybe I'll follow it up with ONE reply to someone who replies shortly afterwards... and then I'm gone for dozens of pages again, so of course the next time I return, it's another big gfox-style catch-up post. :::shrugs:::

I never whistle flashes simply because I don't trust my judgement :O. I'm never sure so I prefer to ignore the whistle for flashes. It's better to ignore it than to whistle flashes that don't deserve it, right? so I don't take the risk.
Most whistles that I gained where from abusive reviews linked in the abusive reviews thread.
