OK, I accept your argument and you do have a point. If making the level system static is too much, then at the very least, we need more levels. 50 levels would be excellent, we could put humantarget52 at level 50, and then the experience differential would be lower, so we'd be able to level up in say, 30-40 days as opposed to 70-80. This would make all the difference, and leveling up would still be special.
Anyway, with the exp system, since you can only get 10 exp per day, two people depositing everyday stay the same distance away from each other. There's no chance that level 30 would be completely unobtainable because sooner or later the person in the lead is going to miss a deposit.
Level 30 is almost impossible to get, especially for a level 9 like me. Let me do some calculations...
ht52's exp = 16,976
my exp = 680
difference = 16,296
days for me to reach level 30, if no-one else deposits = 1,630
years = about 4 and 1/2
Now, let's say ht52 did deposit every day for those 1,630 days.
ht52's exp after 1,630 days = 33,276
my experience after 1,630 days = 16,980
Now, in four and a half years, if I were to deposit every day, and no-one else has deposited, I would have enough exp points to be level 30. But because ht52 has been depositing all this time (possible, however unlikely) I would only have enough for level 15 or around that.
You could agrue that the b/s system has special levels and what not, but with b/s allows you to get more than 10 points a day.
Yeah, but it still takes a long time to rank up in the b/p levels because of the large gaps at the end (5,000 b/p points)
That system needs to be static.
I agree, I never said it shouldn't be.
If it was like the level system, and fixit was still going, no one would ever get close to the fourth final rank, let alone the last.
Good point.
OK, I've read your argument, and you've convinced me: maybe a static level system would be a bad idea, there would be too many level 30's etc. However, we still need more levels: it just takes too long to level up. It wasn't too bad a few years ago, but -bomb-, Pimp, Shrapnel and ht52 have been depositing all this time and it has gotten out of hand. It takes 5 days to level up from 8 to 9, but (currently) it then takes 74 days to level up from 9 to 10!
