Those who can see the invisible can do the impossible. I had a lock on his location at one point X but he went and changed his password on me. The important part is that the movie itself, and the trilogy itself, got recognised for being something other than the latest cult sf/fantasy movie by the Hollywood establishment. It has earned respect mostly due to the billion+ dollars it has brought in, but also in part for how damned good and enjoyable it was. The academy gave it some props... no problem there.

I seriously think that a lot of those awards were given to them just because it was the Lord Of The Rings trilogy's last year in the Academy Awards. However, that's not to say that all of the awards they got were undeserved. Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects were both dead on. I'm just pissed that they got everything else. Oh well, at least Sofia Coppola got Best Original Screenplay. I haven't lost all faith yet.

You really woulda rather seen them win just art direction and visual effects? No offense, man, but that's ridiculous. Look, I know you didn't grow up reading the LOTR books (hell, I didn't read 'em myself until I was 20), but a lot of people older than you or I did, and they happened to love not only those books but also Peter Jackson's remarkable effort, for the most part successful, in getting them to screen.

I love Lost in Translation too, but the simple fact is that it took nowhere near as much work as LOTR did to make, and it wasn't anticipated for half a century like the LOTR movies were. 11/11 is great, but if anything, I'd say the entire LOTR trilogy was underrewarded at the Oscars. The first year it got tons of noms, but only a few wins. The second year, I believe it went 2 for 6. Horrible and definitely not representative of the actual film. And the third... no best supporting actor noms for Ian McKellen OR Sean Astin?

Say what you will, but I firmly believe this was a great day for film. I can't wait for the extended editions, and hope they're not going to wait till November to release them (since there won't be any new film in December, there's no need to, anyway).

See, I signed up on Feb 18th, 2000. And from then until December 2002, I deposited very rarely. I only visited NG once or twice a month on average. All I know is that I was still level 9 (just barely) when I started coming to NG every day and depositing every day and then getting b/p and posting and all that. Back then I just reviewed a couple flashes about 9/11 and played some flash games and that was about it.

SOOOO... I can't say, but it may have taken a year or two years to get from level 9 to where I was when I started depositing every day. And then it took me like a week to get to level 10 from there. #;-}>

You have to keep in mind that all my general rankups took a month each, more or less, and the EGSC rankup took 42 days. And ramagi, of course, is at my favourite b/p number of all time, 36,000. So while I can say I'll definitely one day reach and pass that number, I can't say for sure whether I'll cross 40,000 or not. AND, I just wanted to ask anyone who wants to to check out my profile and give me their opinion.

I just made an animation of the four general badges and the EGSC badge for my profile pic. I love the EGSC badge, but I missed the green laurel wreaths from the General badges, and this gives me a way to not only green up my portal a bit more than my aura can do on its own, but to pay tribute to my favourite ranks in the b/p system.

So, it's set to be at Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, and General for 2.5 seconds each, then to end on EGSC for 5 seconds, and of course repeat...

what does everyone think? Too long between each badge? Should be equal instead of SC getting twice as long? I tried 2/2/2/2/2 first, but it seemed too quick in the SC part while looping back to BrigGen, and didn't really show which badge was the "main" one if you know what I mean.

So, if you like, let me know what you think of it. I'm not gonna screw with my sigpic right now, but I didn't feel the need to just stick with a static EGSC GFOX badge for my profile pic.

Also Recon, the way things seem to be looking, we may have new levels added soon which will make it so people can level up faster.
However I myself only hope for around a 100-200 less exp needed for all levels below 19, It wouldn't feel like much of anything if everyone was just leveling up willy nilly. What I do hope is that the people past lvl 18 will be able to level up a lot faster, as it seems to take waaaaay to long for them.

If this does happen, I hope I like the new level Icons, but hey. I would laugh my ass off if they made all the levels into some form of rusty Pipe and I was the only one who liked it!

From what I heard from I think -POXPOWER- Tom Fulp told him to send in all the lvl icons in a sipped folder and he will check it out.

The main reason I think it may not happen is that the art style for most of the new icons doesn't look anything like the current style we have now.
I also heard rummors that after the game Tom and Synj are working on that synj will make newer lvl Icons.

I think they need to do something, at this rate in like 5 years it will be waaaaay to big of a gap between 9 and 10, and all the other lvls in between.

Yeah well, the Academy Awards have always been geared more towards dramas than anything else. I don't always agree with the decisions, but on the other hand, I still like the Oscars because, as you said, it's nice when a picture or person you like wins one. It's nowhere near a perfect system, but it gets the job done.

By the way, while I'm here, I might as well mention how things are going for me in terms of NG stats. It's been a while, and I can't find anything else to post in, so I figured I'd catch up here. I'll just tackle the things I have on my list here one at a time. First of all, things are going great for me in the blam/protect point department. Oderus_Urungus is no longer a threat to me now. He's slowed down a lot lately. I mean, right now, he's at 15,257 blam/protects, but I'm at 15,385 of them. That's more than a hundred points ahead now, and you know what? I was actually at a friend's house all day just messing around on his electric guitar and drum set. Good times. Can't really play the guitar, but I'm pretty decent on the drums. Did I ever tell you that I actually played a band gig with three friends of mine at a house party on my 15th birthday? So many memories. They're thinking about getting together again for another gig sometime soon. Should be fun.

Also, congratulations on the whole Elite Guard Supreme Commander thing. I'd tell you to start going after fixit but I don't want to kill you, so I'll just wish you well and tell you that I'll be rooting for you when you pass DuMa_RyoHahn for the #5 spot. Good luck with that, dude. That way, you'll be in the same position with blam/protect points as I am with posts. We really have come a long way since we both hit 1337 posts that day. Except you've come much farther. You're a freakin' moderator now. And what am I? Just a has-been. Newgrounds works in mysterious ways, my friend. Oh, and just for the record, I saw Rushmore. Just like he has been saying about Pico 2 being out some time soon for years.
I remember about a year and a half ago when I first joined under another account that I don't use, Pico 2 had already been in the works for a long time then, and now it's still hasn't been out.
Damn it, they must have gotten far I hope they don't just give up.
