That was easily more agreeable from 2012. These days they're like "Yeah, we're retiring but now we're not". They were a pisstake with their latest UK show in Birmingham charging £95 a ticket. Really fucking cheeky that considering I can see Metallica for less!!
But thanks to Deezer ("Spotify from France" if you will) I discovered many new great bands. Truckfighters, My Sleeping Karma, 1000mods (I believe it's pronounced "chilia mods", they are from Greece), Earthless, Electric Wizard...
Best name I know there is Electric Wizard who I have their Dopethrone album which is pretty... dope.
I feel like I've heard of the name Deezer before. That said, Spotify has been an easy go to for music streaming. Can be on my phone or even use it on the Xbox if I want to play own music to gaming.
That does remind me, a while back my friend introduced me to the German radio Rock Antenne. Really impressed with the station which covers all sorts of metal. They won't just play all the big tracks, they'll literally play all sorts which I highly approve. Best part Rock Antenne has an app so that's how a non-German such as myself can use it. 😁
How could he abandon us so quickly? That's cold, man!
You hear us @Coop?! 🤪
One last note, got myself my two very favourite albums on vinyl!

Wow, that's a real rip-off. I will never pay that much for a single concert. Even a festival for that price would be expensive.

That it is. It's also nice music to listen to while you work. Thanks to working from home I don't even need to wear headphones

Yeah, I only ended up at Deezer because I had 6 months for free because I extended my mobile contract at Vodafone. I told myself that I will cancel my account there after those 6 months... But music streaming is a real bliss. Too bad that artists apparently don't get much money from streaming.

Too bad I don't listen to radio stations, heh. Only NDR Info, which doesn't play music at all during the day, so...
But I listened to NRK P13 during ny holidays in Norway, they play a wide range of music and I could practice my Norwegian skills a bit. But they are not quite good enough to really follow along what the hosts are saying.

Not in my country! Well, give it another two years so it's near enough.

I may pay that much to squeeze in one more time to see Maiden while I can but that's the furthest I'll go for standalone shows. Festivals on the other hand, Bloodstock is £150 and Download is at least another 100 on top. The former is more worth it for me.

Wish I had the working from home luxuries. Would have far more freedom with that and even less reasons to use public transport.

This is the sad thing. There's so much to get but not enough money for everything I want and best ways to get more exposure for them is streaming services.

Whaaat? I thought legal drinking age in the UK was 16 as well!

The last (one day) festival I have been was 20€, lol. But they only have very small, mostly local bands (nothing wrong with that) and usually one of the bigger cover bands. Two years ago they had Motörizer, last year it was Powerslave. Same songs but way less money to pay, heh. This year... Well...

Working from home can suck, though. Noone to talk to. Today I started talking to myself again, just to hear anyone talk, lol.

Exactly. If I ever became insanely rich I would buy so many things to support bands that I'd need a storage room or two just to store all the CDs and LPs.

Nope, it's always been 18 here for as long as I can remember. Okay, so I've had some drinks prior to turning 18 but that was more at home at the time than anything.

Sounds far cheaper than the likes of Wacken and Summerbreeze, that's for sure. I'm all for hearing cover bands play as they provide fun nights out when there's something on.

I really want to support bands directly more often but money limitations is a thing. I'm just glad I managed to buy Haken's latest album directly from them. Annoyed that I missed out on the coloured vinyl but I'm still happy enough with the CD+LP package and an album so amazing to my ears deserves direct support to the band. And before you ask, they are well aware of how badly timed an album title as such is for 2020.

Fun fact: in Germany you can drink beer before you can vote. 🤷🏽♂️

Especially the official cover bands do a damn good job. It's not quite the same as seeing the original, but it's good enough to have a great time.

I mean... It's a very fitting title for 2020.

I also was at 8.88 base voting power yesterday, but already upgraded to 8.89. I must have been at 8.88 for awhile and just didn't notice it.

A truly prophetic sig...
60,000 EXP!
That's another 10k lot of EXP done and a thanks to @TomFulp for all the ongoing double EXP days to boost this (thought it was supposed to end the other day?)
In terms of EXP milestones there's only one between now and 70k that I'm eyeing on so I wonder which that one will be. 🤔
So far I'm estimated to reach 100k EXP on 23rd September 2031 but of course that can change.

I extended it because the Portal was so flooded.
