Seriously all you need to do is press F5 and you'll see it. If I can see it and others can already see it, it's not a problem on my end, it's on your end. F5 and see for yourself.
Oh and thanks very much by the way.

Actually I was in the barracks since I believe 2005-2006 seeing as I remember I was still a silver whistle user back then. But to be honest I miss the way the barracks used to be compared to how it is now. Back then it was a chill place where we could actually talk with friends as well as help keep the portal clean.
However now it is just a spot to report abusive flash so the portal mods can unpublish it.

Agreed, although at least the portal gets cleaned immediately instead of the stuff being removed post judgement and our B/P removed. The Barracks working with the mods is a good thing for NG as a whole, similar to how the audio abuse report thread is good for the AP.
The EGB had already started to become a bit empty even before now, when EagleRock and the others disappeared. I still miss users like @HeavenDuff, @Sentio, etc., and the long paragraphs we'd all trade about our days -- you know the drill -- salutes, protocol. That was back when we could get ourselves banned for encouraging a zero/five, and now, as the saying goes, "v0te appropriately". @Byteslinger pops in now and again with a salute and a roster, and you might remember @idiot-buster, formerly buster1, from that time period. I'm glad at least the EGB didn't die out like the PD did. A sad place, that is.

Newgrounds is running very slowly nowadays... The same goes for pretty much all the clubs and crews these days...

Haha! Thanks for remembering me :P But hey, I was one of the guys who'd encourage people to vote zeros :P I was a repeat offender as they call them!
But yeah, it was pretty cool back then. But the BBS is kind of dying slowly, as is the website. But the website as a whole is surviving better then the BBS. There are countless websites with a bigger membership, so it kind of shows in here, with most of the clubs being slowly abandonned. The Metal Hell used to be very active, but lately it's been very slow, like the other clubs you mentioned.

Hey, glad to see you back here! I didn't even know you were still alive! But I agree. The only thing that seems to still be kicking is General. I bet this is why Tom is asking everyone to contribute as a Supporter. Sadly, my school blocks CPMstar ads. I'm very upset about that.

I shied away from it, but it wasn't 'cause I didn't sway to the left side of the panel. Truth be told, I hardly got any B/P because I'd usually vote 1 instead of 2 on those KK spam flashes we used to get. I still don't get much B/P, and I'm fine with that. Anyway, how could I forget you? We went through the Barracks Under Fire and all those other little tales on the Barracks forum, offsite. :P

It seems to be slowing down, especially in the C&C. Hardly ever see a yellow icon next to a forum any more. All people use most of the forums now for are to post their music in the AP, post their art in the Art Forum, report flash in the C&C, and talk shit in General. I'm not sure if people are getting discouraged from over-moderating or what, or if it's just because they don't like changes to the site. For one, I hate the voting overhaul, and that you can't vote as an anon anymore. At least I think we used to be able to do that. I think we need to go back to the settings that worked in the glory days and hold over the news features and feeds. That'd help a lot.

Yeah, I'm still around. Not quite as active as before, but I do visit the website often. But I don't understand how the fact that your school blocks CPMstar ads stopping you from being a Supporter. Care to explain?

Haha, the Klock Krew. I remember when we had like three or four of the spam flashes crew who'd upvote each other through to the portal. What were they called again? One had the word syndicate in it's name. One was a word play on klock... the glock crew or something, and they'd make animations like the KK, but with glocks instead of clocks. Omg...
But the barracks tales! Where are they displayed nowadays? Because there is still the semi-official barracks website, but the tales are not showing there. At least not in the Barracks tales section.

Yes, we used to be able to vote even if we were not members. But I think the website is just getting slower traffic and is less popular because flash animation has become less popular. I don't think it has much to do with the moderation or the changes. Flash animation and flash games used to be big. Miniclip, Shockwave, and the greatest of all... Newgrounds. Mini-games are now more of a portable device thing. People who want to play mini-games download them on app stores on their cellphones or iPads. As for flash animation, it also seemed to lose popularity. And with other huge broadcasting and streaming websites like YouTube and Twitch, websites like NG aren't getting much attention anymore.
And when it comes to the "community" aspect of the website, there are other websites with a bigger and more active community like Reddit or 9gag. As for the Metal Hell, since it's so damn slow, I've decided to look for more specialized forums when it comes to music.
I don't know if the admins of NG are to blame. They initiated the big wave of flash animation, they rode it like real pros, but maybe there just isn't much of a wave left anymore :/

Well, my monetary situation is honestly so bad that I'm struggling to get by. Without school internet, I'd have trouble getting to NG at all. The best I can do until I get some decent moolah saved up is to just post as much stuff to NG as possible and advertise/encourage others to visit the site, and hopefully become supporters.
Really, I'm hella broke. I have about two dollars to my name until refunds come in for grants.

I think you mean the Kitty Krew. :P There was Star Syndicate, Lock Legion, Glocks, etc. Some of them were actually pretty great, but the rest were junk.
But the barracks tales! Where are they displayed nowadays? Because there is still the semi-official barracks website, but the tales are not showing there. At least not in the Barracks tales section.
They're still somewhere on the BBS if Eagle's posts haven't been deleted, at least the unfinished Barracks Under Fire is. I haven't even been able to find our old BBS. Maybe the posts were deleted after the forum was inactive for so long?

So the best thing we could do for NG is to be more smartphone friendly, get an app on the Apple/Droid stores, and get the NG community to support content similar to YouTube in addition to what we already have, and network a bit better. Maybe even a better tag system that supported spaces would help our SEO. That's really important for the stumblers who crawl on Google.
We're also forgetting about our AP and Art portals. NG is one of a kind in that it supports movies, games, art, and audio the way it does. It's like tumblr (the news posts) without the SJ warriors and crazy reblogging.... Hmm. There's another thing NG could probably benefit from, the ability to share other's content. That'd improve interaction in the user community. Viral content is never a bad thing.
And when it comes to the "community" aspect of the website, there are other websites with a bigger and more active community like Reddit or 9gag. As for the Metal Hell, since it's so damn slow, I've decided to look for more specialized forums when it comes to music.
Same. I rarely check reddit though, or 9gag. They're fun for a bit, but nothing as kept me coming back like NG. There's just too much cool stuff in my face to really ignore.
I don't know if the admins of NG are to blame. They initiated the big wave of flash animation, they rode it like real pros, but maybe there just isn't much of a wave left anymore :/
Perhaps they should cash in on the app craze like YouTube and others have? It's late in the game, but I've even seen success for NG users making their own DIY NG apps. I miss the old Castle Crashers games, etc., that made it big. I miss when we used to sell merch. That sort of stuff doesn't go unnoticed from the outside.

I don't think that Eagle's posts were deleated, at least not the ones from NG's BBS. If that's what you were talking about.

It is, yes. And being smartphone friendly obviously is the most important aspect here. I don't know if NG could replace YouTube, but if they could at least keep up with the technologies, then it would be a great start.

These portals are indeed very important aspects of what makes Newgrounds great, yes. But NG seems to not be very well-known these days. I've tried sharing NG stuff on Facebook, and nobody seems to even watch the flash animations I share. But when I share newspaper links or music links I get more people to watch, read or listen to what I shared :/

True. But didn't they stop selling merch because of lack of funds? Like... they had to make some cuts somewhere.

It's kind of weird how the MH emptied itself slowly. But again, some of the guys from the MH are still active on the website, so it could still be a good place if the old members would post from time to time.
