I would like to pick up some CDs this month but I think I really should see about getting a new external hard drive. The one I have now is becoming a bit of a problem due to hard drive space just not being big enough for me anymore so I want to get something bigger that also doesn't have to use a power cable just to run it.

I know the pain. I have TWO external hard drives and it's just a pain in the ass, when the USB cable tilts ever so slightly in the port, the hard drive disconnects. Also, one of my USB ports doesn't work properly anymore...

I did pick up an external hard drive two weeks ago. Makes life much easier to record game footage for my Let's Plays. However, my laptop performs like shit with recording game footage, even with Mega Drive games. I didn't get a new external hard drive just for that, though. I did get a portable one so it only plugs into the USB and where I have my laptop feels tidier now.

Heh, there's plenty of crap games out there. I used to tolerate some that were more difficult to control with but generally I find that there isn't much time to play everything so I'd rather only go with what I'm sure I'm going to enjoy.

That was ongoing work for 18 months with some gaps in between. I started my icon modding duties from when it had began to the launch of the 2012 redesign which was around then I had stopped. I did take a few months break in late 2010/early 2011 due to being in full time work but when it came to less hours and sadly unemployment not too long after, I gave myself time to make more icons again.

Even in the span of 18 months, that still sounds very tedious. That's at least 29 icons a day! I don't think I'd be able make nearly that many if I was the one to do that.

Some days I easily did over 100 icons and I'm sure one day I did 250 icons. It was extreme work but that was from a time ago. There may be still yet more games and movies that need modern icons but 16,000 for the whole site is still good enough. At that time I had covered 10% of the whole portal which also included genre modding.

I've been trying to play Ecco on the 3DS and the controls for it feel weird when being used to the Mega Drive controls.

Most Genesis games were just meant for the original controller. Ever try doing the character specific special moves on Golden Axe 3 without a Genesis controller? To put it bluntly; that crap hurts your thumb if that controller doesn't have an analog stick.

Yep, I tried playing Mega Drive games on my PS3 controller and it feels really weird. However, if it's a mean to play it best on the emulator then that's what I'll have to do. Sadly, my laptop is getting really shit at recording game footage, even with Mega Drive games so at this point it'd be a lot easier to use the DVD recorder.

Also, how good are the Ecco games? I haven't really played them (excluding their easy trophy requirements in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection) but my brother hates them with a passion for some reason.

I really don't get the hate for the games. I'm not sure why Ecco gets some hate while everything else from that console is praised. The worst I can point out is that sometimes the levels can be confusing to navigate but apart from that it's really not that bad.

Yeah, that was the one. From what I recalled the peripheral did work but I wasn't so big into the game. I probably still have that and the game somewhere in my house.

That's actually a game I really want to try. Even if the bongos are responsive, do you absolutely need them to play the game?

Yep, you can still use it without the bongos just like how you can play Guitar Hero without the guitar.

RE5 is easily one of the weakest from the series. It's not bad but it had seen better days. Shame you're not able to play RE4 due to the faults with the Wii. When you find a way to play it, make it a high priority for your time you spend on entertainment purposes since it's one hell of a game.

I personally really liked RE5 a lot. It had pretty good atmosphere and had some pretty challenging points to it. Especially if you picked Professional mode and turned off infinite ammo, the game would just destroy me. As for RE4, I should be able to play it once my brother buys me a Wii U when Smash 4 comes out. Specifically when there's a Wii U + Smash 4 bundle, otherwise it'll be awhile until he buys me one.

I'll possibly give RE5 another shot but to me, it could have been better in some ways but it's not as bad as some make it out to be. RE6 on the other hand, I don't even want to know what that's like.

I don't listen to his music (or rather: haven't had a chance to start doing it ^^), but I still can appreciate his value for the music industry. ^^

Yeah, recording live video on your PC/Laptop is a real bitch. I tried recording Mario on an NES emulator. But the emulator ran so slow that you could consider it cheating.
