The manufacturers tend to be more conservative in their estimations. Parkers is independent and tests the vehicles for the most accurate reading possible. I've not managed to get 60 mpg out of the Focus, but they quoted 60. I'd be happy managing that, as it means less of a fuel bill.

However, I plan to cycle to work in the near future. It's 15km, so it should take me about one hour. That's about as long as I need now, using public transportation... only problem is: Where do I change my sweaty clothes after I got to work?

Yeah, the behemoth that I drive gets me 16.5 miles per gallon which is about 26.5 km per gallon. I would like a new ride, but buying anything now won't make up in fuel savings verses a car payment and higher insurance.

My first grandmother left when I was only 3 so as you can see, I hardly had any time to get to know her.
