Listening to:

Thin Lizzy - Thunder & Lightning. Like thunder and lightning, goddamn it's so exciting. It hits you like a hammer. Goddamn!

Thanks to:

Coop. I hope I was an inspiration to your friend. Also, is their Sky blue?

14 hours and 2/3 of a bottle of Southern Comfort saw me through it.

Alongside to the planned extended trilogy watch, we did attempt to get the soundtrack but it was refunded due to it not being in stock. Ah well, there's plenty of time in the new year to hunt it down.

Yes, but it won't be FF anymore. It would be FFM. ;)

Still something fun, though.

Put Doctor Who at a higher priority? Problem is solved!
Where to start? Way back at the beginning with the first doctor? Fuck that, there's not enough time for that.

No, my recommendation is to start with the modern series. Then, you can watch the new episodes as they arrive. Plus, the episode Rose is a much better paced story than An Unearthly Child which is in four parts.

You don't know who you're dealing with here. He's the fucking Doctor, it's almost impossible for him to die.

I totally agree - they are demented in thinking that an increased amount of guns in the hands of the general public actually helps to lower gun crime. Statistically speaking, the more guns there are, the higher a chance that one is going to fall into the hands of someone who would be labelled as "unhinged"

Isn't there a specific name for fantasy books that incorporate real locations or people into an otherwise fanciful story? The "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Phillip Pullman was one such series I read. The characters traveled between multiple dimensions, one of which being our own world -England, to be specific. Science-Fantasy? I've not heard of it, though the closest that I have come is Conn Iggulden's Historical fiction, where he takes events such as Ghengis Khan or Julius Ceasar's lives and puts his own spin on their personal histories.

Murray Christmas to all! Today has been a great day despite the persistent sneezing up until 8 in the evening. Still, I managed and a lot was done. Christmas Day was concluded with the latest Doctor Who special so tomorrow we just have one family to visit and then it's nothing until dinner in the evening. It'll be a lot easier for Boxing Day, even though we do need to wake up early just to see said family as they need to be out of the house by midday. I imagine we'll start watching through movies we got for Christmas tomorrow. There's a lot to catch up on and I highly doubt we'll even watch them all.

Yeesh, that's worse for you as they took a picture of that shit. As long as this pimple settles down by new year's eve, I should manage. I'll see how it is by the 27th and if it hasn't even gone down then, I may have to get an appointment at the doctors, even though the ones nearby are useless shits.

That sucks. I personally wouldn't care too much if it were me, as anyone who takes a picture of me will quickly find the camera shoved down their throat. ^^
If there are no cameras involved, then I wouldn't really care -it's just family, right? :P

Do you play billiards or darts when at the pub? My friends and I used to shoot pool and drink beer all the time when we first hit the legal drinking age. Good times. Oh, and the jukebox is always like playing Russian Roulette, I know what that's like. :P

No but it's on my many things to do before I die.

It's some really tasty stuff, though a tad expensive. The brand I like most is imported from Ireland and is around $20 a bottle and it goes up from there... (My drink budget is normally like $8 or $9 for a six pack of beer, don't mind me.)

Just when you think it's hit rock bottom, it manages to get even worse. It seems we are in transition from 1-3 blams a day to 1-3 blams a week. :\

I had something like that come before a cricket awards presentation evening - the one where I actually won an award, so the pictures looked horrible.
Yeesh, that's worse for you as they took a picture of that shit. As long as this pimple settles down by new year's eve, I should manage. I'll see how it is by the 27th and if it hasn't even gone down then, I may have to get an appointment at the doctors, even though the ones nearby are useless shits.

I'm sure it will be fine.

Indeed. My blam count has stayed stuck on 581 ever since the beginning of this week.

Not good, is it?

According to statistics, it's been almost a week without a single blammed submission available (with an exception for "Doomsday".

Dec 19th: 0 obituaries
Dec 20th: 0 obituaries
Dec 21st: 3 obituaries
Dec 22nd: 0 obituaries
Dec 23rd: 0 obituaries
Dec 24th: 0 obituaries
Dec 25th: estimated at 0 obituaries

A nice use of statistics and I managed 2 of the 3 blams on the 21st...

Can't really tell whether it's the submissions' quality going up or the save-whores increasing in number.

No, there are less submissions, but the overall quality does not rise - you should still find blammable content every single day.

Maybe, I just remember speaking to someone about fantasy who mentioned something very similar to what you're describing. Maybe I'm just making things up. :P

I'm just taking advice from Wiki, so who knows?

Just when you think it's hit rock bottom, it manages to get even worse. It seems we are in transition from 1-3 blams a day to 1-3 blams a week. :\

I think it might be related to the time of year. Hopefully we'll be back to normal soon enough.

I've said it before, but I count myself lucky that I did a lot of blamming back in '04 and '05 and was able to reach 10K as a result.

I've been Blamming steadily since 2004 and I've now passed 30,000, though I would like to think that I can reach Bahamut's lofty 40k some day soon.

That sucks. I personally wouldn't care too much if it were me, as anyone who takes a picture of me will quickly find the camera shoved down their throat. ^^
If there are no cameras involved, then I wouldn't really care -it's just family, right? :P

True but I'd like to at least have it settled down for my nan's 75th birthday this Saturday. Pictures may be taken then.

It sure was. When we got to the bar they were playing Helloween's Perfect Gentleman and then Megadeth's Sweating Bullets. However, it turned to a series of shit music for an hour and then good music was played again... and then shit.
Do you play billiards or darts when at the pub? My friends and I used to shoot pool and drink beer all the time when we first hit the legal drinking age. Good times. Oh, and the jukebox is always like playing Russian Roulette, I know what that's like. :P

Nah, there's none of that stuff there. I feel there's too little room for them but that's fine, the place itself is fine as it is. Well, excluding the bad music they do play, that is.

I really have no idea. Maybe his life is busy but I will call bullshit on that if he can play at least 30 hours a week of Steam games. It's like there isn't enough time to reply to my last PM to him... He only remembered me enough to re-add me after my Steam friends clearout. Maybe he'll be lucky to meet me again on Steam. Maybe...
Sucks, though I do know what it's like to go through phases with NG. Cool you were able to talk anyway.

I kinda feel a bit strained after eight years on here but I'd still make an effort to say hi to a few of you quite often.

My mum does agree that the doctors' advise to take antibiotics to make them settle down isn't a good idea. If that's what they do try to put me on if I do require an appointment, then I'll simply give them shit in return and make a bold statement that they never do the trick for me. Infact, I don't even remember them helping me out with any medical condition at all.

Maybe. The Portal took such a nosedive a day or two before Christmas -I was hoping I could keep up a 60+ a day pace until new years, at least. :P

Some day soon may be wishful thinking. It'll take at least the greater part of a decade with way things stand now. :'''(

I'm still in the denial stage, though the total absence of blams is starting to piss me off... :P

Pretty much as far as I read before I thought, "what are the specs", so what are the specs? I take it you know about speccy, nice little software where you can quickly show specs, and it is good for you if you care about temps. I built my PC around October time, so glad I upgraded from my damn laptop, I can't even go on that thing anymore.

That is a fine little program, thanks a lot for sharing. I love how it shows the temps; that was something I had been curious about.

I would think the list updating and modding duties that you've taken on in the last several years would have that effect. I can't think of anyone who's taken on more responsibilities around here among people who aren't actually employed by NG.

My specs, Odyssic:

Have you ever gone through the entire course of antibiotics, like you should, rather than taking them for a few days, think that they aren't working and stop?

And don't forget all those icons I did. 16,000 submissions is quite a portion of the portal. However, I feel those times are behind me. I liked it more when I had a consistent routine with them but that simply doesn't work with me anymore.

I've tried it all the way through and the piece of shit still doesn't work. See, this is why I don't trust doctors.
