I think, the brainwashing just works better in North Korea. The people of East Germany needed about 40 years to finally stand up and protest against their government, which is quite a long time. But we don't know too much about the situation in North Korea... maybe people there are happy there? Who knows.

It'll even out - as we go, the teams with relatively few medals will clump together at the base of the table, while nations like the US, China, GB Germany, France, Australia and South Korea will make their moves toward the top.

I don't see any events coming up where team germany really has a chance to grab the gold medal. Silver for Lilli Schwarzkopf was a huge surprise in Heptathlon. I was hoping for a gold medal in discus, but the best german lady only ranked 5th. Now let's hope for hammer throw and men's discus throw...

I was watching women's weight lifting (because gymnastics where on at th eother TV station). Weight category: 58kg. Those women looked very petite, but I don't think I could lift as much weight as they did. :o

58kg... that's just a shade over 9 stone. I am 10.5 stone (66.8kg) and struggle to press that weight above my head. These girls can do that with ease. Hell, they probably press more as a warm up.

I'm about 90kg, the girls should have a few more problems with that weight. :P

I was thoroughly impressed with team GB's performance in the Olympics, from the athletes themselves, to the behind the scenes crew, which made this a very successful and enjoyable games.

Can't say I like Status Quo all that much. They only have a few standout songs and the rest is highly forgettable and even now they're still recording new albums. AC/DC may fall to repetition but they at least were able to write a fair amount of good tunes.

It was one of the few things that I disliked about the Olympics. Their song "Now you're a winner", or whatever bollocks it was called kept getting played, despite the fact that it's the same as most of their other works and therefore as deserving of airtime, i.e. as little as possible.

Can't say I like Status Quo all that much. They only have a few standout songs and the rest is highly forgettable and even now they're still recording new albums. AC/DC may fall to repetition but they at least were able to write a fair amount of good tunes.

It was one of the few things that I disliked about the Olympics. Their song "Now you're a winner", or whatever bollocks it was called kept getting played, despite the fact that it's the same as most of their other works and therefore as deserving of airtime, i.e. as little as possible.

And there wasn't even any Iron Maiden there? Apparently that shitty One Direction "band" was there. How can you even give this any credibility?

I even listened to the new Muse song. I guess I'll have to write them off now as they couldn't hold out much with The Resistance and it doesn't look like they'll do well here either. I really hate the popularity of dubstep. It's a genre with very little innovation that was blown out of proportion. This genre is certainly nothing like prog rock that still lives today in various forms.

They're certainly an alternative band, but even I don't agree with their ideas about Dubstep and Metal.

Dubstep I certainly don't see right with. It might have been alright if they were doing something different with dubstep but... they're not really doing anything special. It's that same obnoxious noise that I hear from other dubstep.

I may not be into sports but cricket is a nice priority. As for me, I don't mind spending 12 hours with my friends over at that Liverpool shop on Saturdays.

I was thoroughly impressed with team GB's performance in the Olympics, from the athletes themselves, to the behind the scenes crew, which made this a very successful and enjoyable games.

But the IOC failed big time on a few occasions. Like, disqualifying the wrong athlete, or "forgetting" to deduct points for a mistake in Gymnastics.

Because I'm enthusiastic and I don't think that anything that is not metal is not music. Seriously, I dislike Madonna, but she just writes music and songs that I don't like. She's got to be good, because otherwise she would not sell so many records.

I was hoping to make 30k before the end of 2012 but due to decline of activity on the BBS overall, it's not easy to make over 10 posts a day. Infact, I only find myself doing half of that these days. Well, I don't use TV itself to watch TV shows. I would if Futurama wouldn't take a fucking eternity for new episodes to be aired over here. At least Red Dwarf X is only a few months away.

It's not that there's non-metal music being played. There would be the odd notable rock artist there but on the other hand, if they cannot give any credit to heavy metal, then simply, FUCK YOU! Unless of course, all the big acts like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath simply said no to this tripe. I know for a fact that David Bowie and The Rolling Stones declined and I'll say good on them. I'm willing to assume everyone who was there did it for the money.
