The house could have been set aflames last night. The boiler had a leak and it just so happened it was dripping over a power box. This caused all the sockets barring the odd one to all go down. The electrician company thought it wasn't an emergency but that leak could have caused the whole house to explode. The call centre advisor needs a slap on the wrist for possibly being responsible for the destruction of our house. Good thing my parents were vigilant and weren't going to back down one bit.

I just finished watching "The Prisoner". That's another series worth looking into.

I know that show well but only because of Iron Maiden. :P

The highest I had with my posting rate was 24 and that was in early 2006 so it's slowly been doing downhill since. I will never see myself posting the way I did in 2005 again on here. Most of the posts then were crap but it was a more active BBS.
I'm not sure if I ever posted that many posts on a single day.

I did make 100 posts in a single day but that was all the way back in 2005. It was the peak of the BBS as well as my best motivation to post.

I didn't even bother to look it up. I have more important things to do. ^^

Good, you keep away from them. It's a good thing to do.

Once they do figure out better graphics, it only turns to bad loading times and other sorts of bullshit.
I don't think "long loading times" and "better graphics" are correlated. Like, I've seen some shitty graphics, but the game still took ages to load up. But GTA: Vice City didn't have long loading times, but the graphcis and the animations where OK on PS2.

I recall the later games on the PS1. FFIX for example had some shit loading times.

And that's why there are programs out there to test your machine against modern games just so you can be sure you can play it just fine.
But that's just another negative thing for PC gaming, imo. I have to test out things, or I have to download third party programs.

You mean a free online test is bad? At least it gives you a warning.

I think that I've grown disenchanted with the franchise. I'll stick to Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother for now. When it comes to BBC series, I did enjoy Merlin, though that was another that I kind of fell out of touch with, as Bex would go on about it so much. At least my friends and I can crack Harry Dresden jokes now and she's not got a clue what we're going on about...
Keep in mind I'm not using the BBC itself to watch Doctor Who. Yet. It'll be fun to see which will be first: The mid-season finale or myself catching up with the modern series.

It depends on how many episodes you're watching a week. You have the chance to watch them all before episode 4 of the series, given that episode 1 was aired on Saturday...

I use shuffle on my iPod at times and last time I did it I was getting loads of my favourite songs by pure luck. I should do shuffle play on my iPod more often.
I started with Black Sunshine and got about a dozen of my top favoured quality tracks in a row, which was nice. I even got "Masterchef Synthesia" in there, which I've not heard for weeks.
My iPod did not give me luck yesterday. Had three interlude tracks in a row. I really should take such tracks out of the playlists dedicated to shuffle plays.

Just make one called "metal" and have done with it :P

You shouldn't even have to test anything before you buy a new game. It should just run on your machine. Fuck you, I payed for this game, so I have a right to play it and you shouldn't care about what else I have installed on my machine!

Hm, I have Final Fantasy Anthology, and I didn't notice any long loading times. Besides, Final Fantasy isn't exactly well known for its good graphics. :P
Gran Turismo is a game that had good graphcis for it's time, and it didn't have overly long loading times. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver had absolutly no loading times (except for cut scenes), because it constantly streamed the content from the disc. That was pretty nice.

Mine too. I'm surprised no-one made a thread for the Paralympics. By the time I realized it was already 3/4 days in so I didn't bother, I figured if anyone was interested in it, there would have already been a thread made. I have watched most of it though. I find it far more inspiring than the Olympics. China are just blitzing it. 2nd through to 6th is pretty close. (Medal Count).

Australian swimmer Jacqueline Freney is a freaking machine. She has 7 Gold Medals for this her first Paralympics and still has 5 races to swim and it's quite possible she could end up getting 12 Golds in 1 Olympics. Add to that the fact that our Champion male swimmer Matt Cowdrey has also racked up 4 Gold Medals (for a total of 12 Gold Medals in 3 Paralympics) with a couple more swims to go and a good chance of winning more Gold.

Has anyone else been watching the Paralympics? If so, how is your team doing and what do you think of it all so far? Have you enjoyed it? Has it lived up to your expectations? What's your favourite event? Who's your favourite Paralympian?

I thought that Oscar Pistorious was a bit petulant after losing. He could have had longer blades, but chose to go with modern able bodied athlete spec, so he lost out...

Team Paralympic GB is doing really well. 108 medals is better than last time and we're the main competitor for China, who only have 183, so the gap is not as big as it was. We're getting there.

Oh god.

Well, it's true!

***Cricket News***

I'll be doing a news post about this either later, or over the next week or so, but both of our teams won yesterday, thus ensuring that we got promotions to Worcestershire County League Division 2 (1st XI) and Division 1 (2nd XI) for next season. I've been the scorer for two seasons and have overseen three promotions from a possible four. Not bad at all. Now we need to keep it up and see if we can carry on this vein of form, well into the next season.

I'm overseeing a delivery of a few tonnes of loam, grass seed and fertiliser this week, so hopefully we'll be ready to do the end of season work, towards the end of September. That should help to give us a ground to match the facilities and the fact that we probably have the best teas in our divisions from last season.

But I've seen that Simpsons episode many times. Still good, though.
So, you are all set for the real series. :P

That is good to know. I'll see where my TV schedules go over the next few months but I still have tons of Doctor Who to watch.

My post rate is just steady but slowly declining.
As I've said, my post rate cannot decline, since it's very low to begin with. ^^

So it can slowly improve. :P

For random battles, it did take its sweet time but at least it's not as as bad as FFV and VI on PS1. Thankfully I traded in FFVI on the PS1 yesterday as I have it on GBA.
Hm, I have Final Fantasy Anthology, and I didn't notice any long loading times. Besides, Final Fantasy isn't exactly well known for its good graphics. :P

FFIV's loading times aren't an issue. It's bad in FFV and VI.

Gran Turismo is a game that had good graphcis for it's time, and it didn't have overly long loading times. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver had absolutly no loading times (except for cut scenes), because it constantly streamed the content from the disc. That was pretty nice.

Now if only more games were smart enough to do that.

Meh, you're just associating titles and perhaps lyrics

But that's what I always do.

So that's about three weeks off. I could do that if I fully focus. I'll have to make a real dedication after the weekend, though.
I've got a few films to watch and with a few friends, I'll be able to get through them as well :P

By the end of the week, I am to finish off season 4 so I'll have the specials and seasons 5 and 6 to cover on DVD/blu-ray. Then I'll be with everyone else to watch the new episodes.

I have over 10,000 tracks to cover and I want to include all the progressive rock as well.
Did you see the prog rock awards? You have five times as many tracks as me, btw...

I don't usually focus on awards.

Congratulations, Bahamut!

Andy Murray wins his first major title over Novak Djokovic, in Flushing Meadows, New York.

Thought I'd like to rub it in a little and take the piss, basically. Wow.
