Celtic, Celtic, Celtic...
Still, at least you have the Rangers there. I can imagine the leagues of Austria, Switzerland, Estonia and countries like that are even more boring.
I think it happend only once that the first two teams wheren't Celtic and Rangers at the end of a SPL season. Hearts of Midlothian finished second that year. No league can beat that. Scottish First League is far more balanced. Granted, they play shitty football there, but at least all the players are on the pitch because they have fun doing it. For what those players earn in one month players from United or City wouldn't even tie their shoelaces.
Also, in Austria you have Rapid Wien, Austria Wien and "Red Bull" Salzburg. In Switzerland... Basel (who kicked out Man Utd!), Grashoppers and FC Zürich.
Yeah okay, but I'm sure there are countries where it is even more one-sided than in Scotland.
Looks like Youtube is whiping all the videos off their site.
What happened is that a supporter made his way onto the field and attacked the AZ goalie. However, the AZ goalie defended himself, worked the guy to the ground and kicked him a few times. Conform the football rules, the referee gave the goalie a red card to which the trainer of AZ called his team off the field (the whole team was pretty pissed). Then the match was stopped by the referee.
I think this a very shitty rule. Ok, Brown overreacted (but on the other hand, he got attacked first), but I really don't get why any player would recieve a yellow or a red card if they tackle a fan running on the pitch and disturbing the game. What happens if the guards catch the runner? They tackle him and get him off the ground.
So, if a guard tackles, it's ok. If a player tackles, thus helping the guards, it's a yellow card? How stupid is that?
Here are some videos of the incident by the way:
Vid 1
Vid 2 (provided by Coop)
I think the rule says something like: "Violent behaviour by the players is not acceptable under any circumstances". At least, the ref said so after the match.
I'm not sure if the red card was really necessary, but I don't think the goalie should've continued kicking the guy when he was already on the ground either. There's still a difference between self defense and simply taking revenge. The latter is what I think that the goalie was really doing.
Anyway, his red card didn't have any consequences, so he can play the next match.
Haven't seen this happening before.
I remember reading about an incident during one world cup (before yellow and red cards where invented). One player got sent off, but the referee and the player didn't speak the same language. So when the ref said "you are sent off", the player didn't understand him. Finally after 10 minutes of arguing and gesturing, he began walking off the pitch, but the rest of the team followed him. Maybe they thought: "If he leaves the pitch, we do the same!"
Must have been very amusing to witness this live.
Lol! Before cards were even invented? Must've been quite long ago.
I know there are quite a lot of videos around of funny / weird football incidents, where players attacked the ref and the other way around. Things like that :p
HA! Win against Denmark and Portugal perhaps.
And then kicking out Holland in the last group match. That would even be better than winning the title!
No, it wouldn't. But it still would be hilarious!
Well there's room for two in the next round, so Germany winning from Holland in the group phase doesn't have to matter.
Also, please leave Kung Fu Nigel at home, that guy is practicing the wrong sport!
Tough luck. Nigel is in. Better watch your faces >:)
Yeah indeed we're in the same boat. Guys like Sneijder, van der Vaart and van Persie will all be in their 30's by the next WC and you can't win with a team of grandpa's.
Yes, it's a real pity to see the career of great players end without winning one international title.
Same with Michael Ballack. He once was the team captain and undisputed in the team. But now he's not even nominated to play anymore.
Oh well, he's way too old by now anyway.
Unfortunately, there aren't that many young talents really making a name of themselves at the moment, so I think WC 2014 won't be that much of a success for us.
At least the future is looking quite good in germany. Toni Kroos, Marco Reus, Mario Götze, Thomas Müller... it's the result of the shitty performance in EC 2004. Suddendly the bosses of the DFB realized that something has to be done, and something HAD been done.
Apart from Müller I don't know any of them.
And I think the same happened here actually after the fiasco that was WC 2002 (we didn't even qualify). We got a new coach who decided to throw all the oldies out and recruit some new players. That's when van der Vaart, Sneijder, Robben, van Persie, Huntelaar and players like them came in.

Hopefully, the BBC can supply you with video.
Yep, it's even better than the video I found.
I love the Adidas advertising in the background - the fastest boot just got a brain. Now that's situational irony.
Now that you mention it: LOL XD

Yeah, that will be my excuse but that's something they like to flock on.
Ah well, I'm sure they acted silly as well at that age.
Perhaps, but they aren't that bad are they? I actually got more annoyed by people whining about F2P'ers. And most of the early F2P'ers (like me) have probably outgrown their noob status by now.
But then new F2P'ers will arrive. It's a vicious cycle of shit and Valve really need to implement premium exclusive servers.
Lol. Well there will always be noobs. And by the way, can't you upgrade to a Prenium account by buying something from the store? I heard the cheapest thing was like $0.40 or so, so I'm sure plenty of people will upgrade anyway if Prenium accounts get any good benefits.

Opened my first Christmas Present on midnight (shut up! In Germany we open our presents on Christmas Eve!). Here's a picture.
But it's not even "eve" yet!
We'll be opening presents in a couple of hours here. I might post a pic as well.
