Well its finally happened its taken me 14 months to get another 1000 blams(With about 3-4 months of being active) and with those 1000 blams I can now say that...

My blam count is OVER 9000!

Good chance thats the last time I will ever say that unless I somehow find a way to 9000 posts or reviews one of these days.

Two goals? You don't need real goals to play football. Two trees, or just some parts of your clothing (like your coat or your sweater) will do to mark two posts.
That will work, but I always find that a bit lame and you have to fetch the ball every time someone takes a shot at the goal.

Yeah, but on most public football fields there are no nets in the goals. So...
Also, you don't have to shoot so hard, then you don't have to run so far to get the ball back. ^^

DUUUUHUUUUUUUHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hm.... let me put it this way: NEIN!
Well that might not be a good example. But how about songs like Bohemian Rhapsody?

Well maybe the stuff we bought wasn't that good. We were with a whole group and some people became ill after a while. Then others started to panic and basically it all sucked.

I'm glad the hardest drug I ever did was weed... ^^

Yeah. In 12th grade we had a school trip to Spain and we went there by bus. It took us 32 hours to get there...
Strangely enough the trip back only took about 24 hours.
Lol. Had a Spanish busdriver on the way back maybe? Those guys can be pretty reckless.

No, it was the same drivers both times, I think they were from Poland. But on the way back we hadn't so many traffic jams. ^^

Heh, those ranks are rather forgotten to me. Then again, I did get Supreme Commander around five years ago.

I think we're talking way back in 05 that the praporschik ranks were still hip around this place. Now about every regular here has become a Sup Commander years ago.

I don't find it much of sore yet, but eventually I will probably want to spend my time elsewhere as well.
If you feel you can't keep it up, do yourself a favour and call it day. There's tons of other things to do.

I'm thinking about shooting for the big 100k.

I could then consider passing ramagi and Denvish for those extra two ranks, but the gaps after that will get ridiculous. We're talking a possible 30,000+ points between me and the likes of courtday, Toocool100 and illuminate at that point. There's no way I can overcome that within a reasonable time if they continue BPing. So 100k sounds like a good moment to call it quits to me.

I am starting to come to a point when ranking up on the BP lists isn't doable anymore (10k gaps, users like Gagsy and byteslinger bumping me down every time I finally rank up etc.). And if I can't really rank up and can't level up anymore either, I don't see what I still have to (actively) BP for.
Yeah, you're at a very tough position right now. At least after those two the most you'll have to worry about is Pokemonpoeguygcn. After that we'll see who else is climbing up the ranks.

He's 20k behind me and gains about 100 a week on me. That means about 200 weeks for him to go until he comes flying by. By that time I'll probably be retired from BPing, even if I'd decide to go on for a little longer after 100k.

Well you could use an alt to get around the limit? I know that's technically against the rules, but I'm sure the mods then will understand. Also, as an ex-mod you could probably get away with little things like that ;)
I could but I'd rather not push around if I'm not doing my mod duties anymore. Seeing next week will mark three years of making the B/P updates, I could extend the list just once.

Would be a nice thing to see for your third anniversary.

Kinda hard for me to determine now how long I've been updating the Reviewers List since I quit for a couple of years. IIRC I started in October 2005 and went on non-stop until about October 2008. Then I picked it up again somewhere late last year... I should look into this.

Sounds like a better idea. I think DoD only wants to pester Coop anyway.
If that's the case I'll just give Wylo a buzz at the start of every month.

Good idea. I don't mind bimonthly updates for the VP list either, but I would like to see an update at least every once in a while, preferable at a constant rate.

Well according to the Hobbit, there's a weak spot in your armour somewhere on your chest. But that might only apply for the dragon Smaug though... =/
I can always put some extra armour on. ;)

I guess Smaug wasn't as resourceful as you, considering he lived a 1000 years and never came up with that idea.

If I were to shoot you somewhere, I'd aim for your balls. That'd be my weakspot so it might also be a dragons :p

Horses have a natural tendency to run in packs. So as long as you have several horses running together you can have them charge into anything. Now a better question is why horses often run into burning barns.

They do that? I've never seen a horse run into a burning barn before. I thought the one thing all animals had in common was that they would flee from fire.

I'd laugh pretty hard if that happened. Then I'd take your wallet and walk off :p
You know, I wonder why more muggers don't just spray someone with pepper spray to rob someone. Sound much more simpler than getting a gun or trying to threaten someone with a knife.

What a brilliant idea! You don't have to worry as much about your victim seeing your face either, since you're pretty much blinding him :p

There is plenty of farmland actually. Holland might not be that big, but the major cities aren't that big either so most of the space is utulized for farming.
I'm a little lazy to search for it but what is the population of the Netherlands and what is the size of the largest city?

I think it's about 16.5 - 17 million and Amsterdam has around 780,000 inhabitants. Other major cities are The Hague and Rotterdam with 500,000 and 600,000 inhabitants respectively. All these cities lie in a region called the 'Randstad', which is a region that takes up about a quarter of the country, but more than 7 million people live there. So naturally the other three quarter of the country isn't as populated.

I'm sure there are plenty of eggs produced in the Netherlands, but perhaps we're just importing and exporting them for the sake of trading and keeping each others economies going.
Sounds like kind of unproductive to me. Why get eggs from well over 1,000 miles away when you can have some locally made and more fresh.

Lol, well 1,000 miles away is a little excessive. The Netherlands is no bigger than 300 km long and 200 km wide (±180x125 in miles). If they're imported from the western borders of Germany then that won't be an awful lot of transportation.

Unlike the USA, most European countries aren't really able to maintain themselves with their own resources so hence why a lot of importing and exporting is going on.

Well, I have played for football for a long time, so I can usually control myself and gently pass the ball in the corner to score a goal. But there are always those who think their chances of scoring increase if they shoot as hard as they can from as close by as they can :p

Well that might not be a good example. But how about songs like Bohemian Rhapsody?
This song shouldn't be butchered by people who can't sing. :/

To be honest I only like to hear that song at the very end of the year when the Dutch top 2000 greatest songs ever ends and Bohemian Rhapsody holds the #1 spot once again.

Although last year it was The Eagles with Hotel California.

Nah it common for them to. When they are scared they will go to a safe place which they think is the barn.

So it's the case the most people live in the cities and most of the larger ones lie near the coast, right?

Lol, well 1,000 miles away is a little excessive. The Netherlands is no bigger than 300 km long and 200 km wide (±180x125 in miles). If they're imported from the western borders of Germany then that won't be an awful lot of transportation.

Unlike the USA, most European countries aren't really able to maintain themselves with their own resources so hence why a lot of importing and exporting is going on.

OK that makes sense. I guess when there are tons of small countries you have to be really open to trade in your country. I guess I should be too surprised since the orange I ate this morning came from some other country rather than Florida or California.

Yeah, if you call slaying the main adversary of the title not playing a significant role, then I suppose he is.

I was just very disappointed at how it was described in the book. It was something like: Everybody was fighting the war of five races, all hell broke loose AND IN THE MEANTIME Smaug flew over Laketown and Bard gets a lucky shot, kills him and afterwards he is crowned king. I can not remember Bard doing anything else in the plot.

It was the only thing in the book that irked me. I hope the film will improve that story element.

I remember when reaching Supreme Commander was cool.

Like I already stated before: It used to be an end point. Enough reason for some people to quit BPing. However, nowadays you're hardly in the top 200 and still hardly matter in BP land. You gotta keep on going if you want to impress anyone.

I'm thinking about shooting for the big 100k.
Yeah, 100k is a nice way to stop.

Thinking of some cool numbers. Perhaps something like 30k:70k?

He's 20k behind me and gains about 100 a week on me. That means about 200 weeks for him to go until he comes flying by. By that time I'll probably be retired from BPing, even if I'd decide to go on for a little longer after 100k.
Wow, 200 weeks? I expected him to get to you within two years providing both of you continue your B/P paces.

Yeah well my calculations are also provided we keep these rates constant. It might be shorter, but it will be a long time nonetheless. I will reach 100k somewhere late 2012 probably. I don't think he will have passed me yet by then.

Would be a nice thing to see for your third anniversary.
Oh yeah! :)
I highly recommend looking into expanding the list. I think top 150 will do nicely.

You mean for the Reviewers List? I could, but it'd be too inaccurate with the people I have right now. I'd need more usernames to track.

Good idea. I don't mind bimonthly updates for the VP list either, but I would like to see an update at least every once in a while, preferable at a constant rate.
Hey, I'm patient as much as the next guy (unless it's D-o-D :P) but it would help if we made a little push with some consistency for the updates.

Indeed. But fortunately there's less point comparing your own gains on the VP list if you just don't miss any deposits. You'll always get the max possible anyway.

I guess Smaug wasn't as resourceful as you, considering he lived a 1000 years and never came up with that idea.
lol what a dumbass.

He knew much, but he wasn't smart, that's for sure :p

Shake it baby!

Blow it out your ass!

Are we really the only ones that are on our way to become quadlisted? I thought there might be a few fanatical posters out there who are also pretty far with BP and Experience when it comes to reaching 10k.
The only other potential is FattyWhale. He's less than 400 posts away and makes some posts on a regular basis. ReconRebel was so close to 10k posts but then we went inactive on the forums and eventually the site in general.

I was thinking ReconRebel as well, but indeed I haven't seen him around in ages. Shame he never got to 10k.

By the way, Ultor is another candidate right? Although if he keeps posting like he does, it'll still take him years to get those last 100 posts.

Yeah, but on most public football fields there are no nets in the goals. So...
Also, you don't have to shoot so hard, then you don't have to run so far to get the ball back. ^^
Well, I have played for football for a long time, so I can usually control myself and gently pass the ball in the corner to score a goal. But there are always those who think their chances of scoring increase if they shoot as hard as they can from as close by as they can :p

The only position I am good at is as a goalie. Also, if people think they have to shoot the ball extra hard, they should be the ones to get the ball back if it goes flying off the field. That'll teach them! ^^

Dutch Top 2000? With a name like that you'd expect them to play only dutch songs. :P

Lol. Had a Spanish busdriver on the way back maybe? Those guys can be pretty reckless.
No, it was the same drivers both times, I think they were from Poland. But on the way back we hadn't so many traffic jams. ^^
Lol. I don't know if I'd rather be with a Polish or with a Spanish driver... perhaps the Spanish one cause at least he might be sober :p

Hey, the bus drives where really cool guys.

You could have seen them live? That sucks! Hopefully they do something very soon.

IIRC they played on Friday afternoon. Since me and my friend had to work on Friday we only could start driving to the festival at around 2 pm. After a one hour drive we just arrived when they entered the stage. And since we had to unpack things, get our festival bracelets and so on, we simply missed the show. :(

Well, I should do. My main priority in life now is jobhunting, and right now that means spending much more time on the computer, which inevitably means much more time procrastinating on NG. ;)

I'm not criticising you for it, though I perhaps lament it a little.
Nah, I know that. I'm just saying I at least enjoyed my time in the top 10 and although I could have aimed higher, I don't think it's worth it.

Fair enough - I'm still going, but I'm not here for the ranks - they're a nice bi-product, but that's all.

Mjollnir is not golden. Pretentious he may be, but Thor Odinson wields a mighty hammer not made of any metal on this earth. Perhaps Level 41 would better illustrate it.

The only position I am good at is as a goalie. Also, if people think they have to shoot the ball extra hard, they should be the ones to get the ball back if it goes flying off the field. That'll teach them! ^^

"You should've been a better goalie then."

To be honest I only like to hear that song at the very end of the year when the Dutch top 2000 greatest songs ever ends and Bohemian Rhapsody holds the #1 spot once again.
Dutch Top 2000? With a name like that you'd expect them to play only dutch songs. :P

No the idea is that its the top 2000 best songs ever made according to the people of Holland. Of course there are some Dutch songs in there, but for the wide majority its English music with some French and German songs here and there.

The top 5 tends to be something like:
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
The Eagles - Hotel California
Boudewijn de Groot - Avond
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Deep Purple - Child in Time

Occasionally Meat Loaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Light makes it or some other classic. It's a pretty nice list to listen to. It always gets broadcasted from Christmas to New Years (#1 ending when the clock strikes 12).

Lol. I don't know if I'd rather be with a Polish or with a Spanish driver... perhaps the Spanish one cause at least he might be sober :p
Hey, the bus drives where really cool guys.

That doesn't mean they were sober :p

I wonder how it will look in the film.

Hopefully it won't be lame. Also, hopefully they will show the war and won't do it like the book with Bilbo passing out and missing everything.

Ah yes, that's what it was. Could be a good role for Stephen Fry, but I do hope he doesn't make it too comical.
Stephen is a good actor - just like Hugh Lawrie, his comedy partner. He's a great choice.

He's definitely a good actor and the role does probably suit him.

But of course. I just miss the times when Supreme Commander was something special. Oh well, at least having over 70k B/P is a more impressive count.

That probably won't go out of style anytime soon.

Thinking of some cool numbers. Perhaps something like 30k:70k?
That's reversing what Denvish did.

Exactly. Might be a nice tribute.

Yeah well my calculations are also provided we keep these rates constant. It might be shorter, but it will be a long time nonetheless. I will reach 100k somewhere late 2012 probably. I don't think he will have passed me yet by then.
And now I realise how slow the portal truly is.

Yeah. 10,000 BP may not seem like much, but it is still a lot of points that will take most 0.5-1 year to acquire.

You mean for the Reviewers List? I could, but it'd be too inaccurate with the people I have right now. I'd need more usernames to track.
I thought you'd be alright with it. How much does the one ranked at 150 have?

To be honest I just got a bunch of people listed at random after #105. Some only have around 400 reviews, but are writing a few every now and again. If I were to make a top 150 now, I'd probably have to include myself and I know it will be a bollocks list. I should probably dig up one of my old top 150 updates first.

Indeed. But fortunately there's less point comparing your own gains on the VP list if you just don't miss any deposits. You'll always get the max possible anyway.
Eh, I just like to see the VP list going on. If we leave it for so long we'll get too many rank uppers for B/P.

Those guys always suck balls. I hate being bumped down, knowing I might never have a chance to pass them again.

Blow it out your ass!
Your ass, your face, what's the difference?

I like a good cigar...and a bad woman...

By the way, Ultor is another candidate right? Although if he keeps posting like he does, it'll still take him years to get those last 100 posts.
Mentioning Ultor just makes me laugh. He's trying so hard to get to 10k posts and even admits to aiming for it.

I was guessing that was his ultimate goal. I don't know why he still hasn't realized that posting normally without spamming will get him to 10k that much faster.

I would have figured that since it's so small that it was almost one big city with even your rural areas being somewhat populated.

Lol yeah. It's odd how Paris alone has about as many inhabitants as our whole country :p

But yeah, most live near the coast. Has a lot to do with the harbors and the trading companies of the 17th century I guess.
I would have figured so, since the Netherlands were a major power in trade back in the 1600s.

We refer to it as "the golden age". The age in which the Netherlands was one of the most powerful and wealthiest nations in the world due to having the largest merchant fleet and a great military fleet as well. Several naval wars against the Brits, French and Spaniards were won.

Now our military really doesn't matter anymore in the world and the economy isn't exactly superb either :p

Exactly. As a small country we are very dependant of importing and trading.

But sometimes I guess it is also for the taste. You know... oranges from this country taste better than the oranges from that country.
In the US, it's more or less whatever is in season where ever they are from and at the lowest cost. Taste seems to be on the back burner.

Oh well, if they're out of season then they're usually no good either.
